Collingwood have absolutely cleaned this draft up. They have just traded in pick 24 and pick 30. I'll be honest, can't say I am that excited with our picks so far.

I guess I'll eventually warm to these picks.

I have no interest in marketing tools. I want players who are actually talented and show the potential that they could have good strong careers at the Dees. If Kobe doesn't fit this bill then I don't want him. Picking him based on marketing brand and that he has the last name Farmer, is setting the kid up to fail.

Unfortunately I don't think we have any up and coming on the horizon either...

Green? He has nothing at all to do with the coaching side of things. He has failed in that department by being let go by 2 AFL clubs already. He's on the board level which I have huge concerns in itself. I don’t see why people get so angst about Goody having experienced people around. The way I look at it is the club have gone out and identified the best people in the business that they think will help the development of our players most importantly. Williams role will be to help develop our players. Yes he'll be able to assist Goody at times, but his main role will be player development. Its no different to what Brendan Bolton is at Hawthorn or Leppitsch at Richmond. I know people want to pot him just for the sake but jesus its getting old.

As someone that's had connections with Oliver in the past through the MB program and still having connections now, I can say hand on heart he was not a happy camper at all, and the Carlton talk was real. Carlton and his management had discussions but Melbourne knocked it on the head immediately and said in no certain term will he be traded at all. It was done and dusted there. Its okay to be disgruntled you know. For all we know maybe other clubs were asking the question in the background? What you might not see as evidence in the naked eye doesn't mean there's a whole lot going on in the background...

Am also lead to believe that Mark Williams was also a serious contender for thr coaching job back in 2013, but eventually Roosy got the gig.
