  1. Just read that there is talk of a potential crowd capacity increase in SA this weekend. Hopefully this is common sense prevailing.
  2. @Chook in Perth Your time to shine.
  3. Sounds good to me. What other options available out there?
  4. Makes me wonder if our chase in Cerra means we'll be looking at another midfielder to bring in perhaps?
  5. If he gets his body right I can see him playing good footy for us for the next 2 years. Right in our window.
  6. Interesting this was mentioned by Tom Morris in the Jack Gunston article. Melbourne also flirted with the possibility of going after Adam Cerra, but with limited draft capital the Demons would find it difficult to do a deal with Fremantle for the slick midfielder. Carlton remains the strong favourite to get Cerra.
  7. Not surprised. Yze connection as well.
  8. Yeah feel like it would head [censored] Jonesy big time. I think it's highly unlikely we'll see Jones during the finals series unfortunately.
  9. Exactly this. Thanks for summarising this perfectly.
  10. Does anyone know if we are taking the whole playing list to Adelaide/Perth?
  11. We don't have the picks or salary to satisfy Freo/Cerra. He ain't coming to Melbourne.
  12. Mitch Cleary just said that Sam Weideman is looking at his options but there seem to be little interest out there.
  13. Look I think he'll honestly play, but I think the coaching staff would be weighing up a lot of scenarios, especially if Hibberd is there waiting and has done the job also.
  14. Yeah but they'll back their system in to keep him especially if he warms to the new coach like its been reported about him wanting to wait to see who coaches Collingwood. Adelaide are red hot for Maynard also and would be more then willing to pay big money for him if he does walk. They've got the salary and space to pay above for someone like Maynard. So there's a high chance the pies could still net a mid to late first rounder.
  15. I think you're playing with fire when you make unexpected position moves, especiallyin big finals. Bowey has been trained and played half back all year and I highly doubt they'll make drastic moves this late. Though I do think this is something that needs to be in serious consideration for next year
  16. No I understand all that. Even if Bowey is rotating through those small forwards it's still going to make me nervous. All 3 of those small forwards are bloody good players. Probably the first time in his AFL where he comes up against some quality small forwards.
  17. Collingwood will want a late 1st rounder potentially. They want to build through the draft again and Maynard is probably worth that. If they can get Daicos early on with another later 1st rounder then I think they'll be happy with that. Maynard is a gun, he was named in the All Australian squad last year, so Collingwood have every right to play hard ball as well considering he's still contracted.
  18. I see a few are shocked at this. Hopefully this explains better. I'm a HUGE fan of Bowey and think we've got a 200 gamer on our hands. My reasoning for this is that while Bowey hasn't put a foot wrong, I genuinely can't find a decent match up for him. I worry about playing a small 4th gamer down back in a game where the pressure significantly goes through the roof. Right now we don't have a lockdown small defender and Hibberd plays that role fine. Brisbane's small forwards are Lincoln McCarthy, Charlie Cameron and Zac Bailey (kicked 4 last time). I'd have Salem to go with McCarthy, Rivers with Bailey which leaves Hibberd to take on Cameron who did a good job last time. Unfortunately I just think any of those guys could easily expose Bowey on the big stage. Joel Smith will stay in. I think the club love his flexibility and he could also easily take one of those smalls or a tall as well.

  20. Stole this from bigfooty. Sam Edmund just said on SEN trade radio that “Melbourne and a number of other clubs have enquired about Brayden Maynard” … “He’s refused to sign an extension at Collingwood until he knows who the new coach is going to be, which others clubs are smelling as blood in the water” … “They reckon he’s gettable”.
  21. I'd drop Bowey for Hibberd.
  22. Looks like another [censored] weather game..
  23. Hall of fame is a joke every year that Garry Lyon misses out. Nathan Burke? Really....
