  1. Drugs has fried Swannys small brain here.
  2. Of JVR gets rubbed put they'll bring in Grundy purely because Rooey has been the second ruck.
  3. I think one of the most disappointing aspects of last night games is the way we changed our game plan and structure. I raised my concerns on Wednesday night around selection. We went in a tall short in defence and unfortunately that took away Levers and Rivers strengths. At one stage last night River was playing on McStay and by trying to do a lock down role so that it would release Lever. This took away Rivers run and carry style and he was unfortunately very quiet. We didn't get that usual drive off half back that we usually do which was disappointing. Lever was another who had a poor night last night. His strengths of being able to peel off and intercept was not on show because he was playing a lock down role. Why Goody reverted back to this method which has shown to not work was just bizarre team selection and even he had admitted in thr past. We needed a Tomlinson or Turner to play that complete lock down role so that our defensive structure was sound. One other aspect that I got out of it was that we really are bare in midfield depth. When Brayshaw went out we had no one that was able to stand up in his shoes. This is where I'm incredibly disappointed in Tom Sparrow. This was his golden opportunity to stand up in the moment and yet by half time he had only 2 disposals next to his name. He was generally poor who coughed it up way too easily in the moment. I seriously have no idea what he adds to the team but with Brayshaw unfortunately missing and the thought of Jordon being a replacement it's looking pretty glum. Whilst a key forward would be ideal in the trade period I think another experienced midfielder is a must.
  4. What?? He's literally gone shoulder first towards the head with no eyes or action towards smothering the ball. Literally zero attempt at smothering the ball. This whole red and blue bias glasses really are showing out now..
  5. Um you do realise his changes are pretty much forced changes? Not sure if you paid any attention but Brayshaw will miss and JVR may also with a suspension. His No need for the personal insults for giving a opinion.
  6. Worst part is its only Friday and we've got a whole weekend to listen to the media try and digest why we lost.
  7. So then going off this, JVR should have actually have gotten suspended for his hit on Ballard right?
  8. What are our other options?
  9. You can only laugh. Still genuinely shattered. This game tonight will eat me up for the next 6 months over the summer.
  10. Your seeing this attempted smother as a full on disguise? Wow.. ok.
  11. My partner who barely watches the Dees pretty much said the exact same thing. I think the moment also was when he got that Bronx cheers from Collingwood supporters when he shanked that kick on the boundary.
  12. I think we've worked it out fairly quickly the ones who haven't played contact sport/footy....
  13. But they are though? Some on here are saying he jumped to intentionally bump straight away when his first intention was to smother the ball.
  14. If he maintains this position all the way through then it's a straight up head clash between the two. I think he's tried to brace himself last second the moment he realise he didn't smother ths ball and had forward momentum towards Gus.
  15. Does this not look like a smothering acting to you first? Certainly does to me...
  16. He was moving forward towards Brayshaw and jumped with momentum to smother the ball. If he tried to brace himself he still would have hit Brayshaw regardless because of his forward momentum. As he was coming down you can tell he's trying obviously avoid face to face contact and that's why I think he turned to try and brace himself.
  17. I'm with you on this one also.
  18. He chose to jump and attempt a smother and then last second tried to brace himself for contact as he was coming down. Play this in normal speed and it all happened so quick that I don't think he had time to even try and turn away. These footballing motions happen so quick in games that sometimes it's just hard to react quick enough.
  19. At a point where I honestly don't care. Still bloody shattered. I had too much faith pre game thinking we'd beat them and beat them well. Slim pickings anyway. There's nothing there that'll improve our forward system anyway.
  20. Hysterical? I'm sorry for calling people out when we're all of a sudden wishing ACL injuries on people. Unbelievable..
