  1. Tyranny of distance for me again this week. And no FTA. So, looking forward to reports, from those of you in another "very vocal Melbourne crowd".
  2. I was over the page and missed this, Mazer! Humble apologies. And double points for the humorous hoick! Wave-ed dorna it is! And another 0.1 for you, @WalkingCivilWar, just later to the party. Thanks again everyone!
  3. Sorry, no, Salem, though that dynasty is tempting. You've all played very nicely, thank you; WCW most entertainingly, with creative flourishes of her bat. He's a genuine opener, as the rest of the team is genuinely used (with a bit of shuffling in the middle order). Think what could swamp a boat? Then say it with a separate-syllable '-ed' on the end.
  4. Late-night (early morning!) summary of the outfield catches: 1. Swamp-ed Spanish fishing boat? No-one yet (apart from 'reive', this one's the most esoteric, I guess...) 2. Crumbs?! @reynolds46 3. She pretends to go up the hill? @Demonstone 4. Tapestry shop? @mo64 (at the non-striker's end, and 0.1 to @WalkingCivilWar, not being aware of that) 5. Artist Ken's 'Denim Period'? @Demonstone(minus 0.1) 6. That man waits in line. @mo64(and 0.1 to @WalkingCivilWar) 7. Rustle, saying, '______ ___ stones...' @WalkingCivilWar 8. Cheese off market? @mo64 9. Trick type. @mo64 10. Surround Shirley @Demonstone 11. Hay, gathered then cropped! @WalkingCivilWar (and 0.1 to @Doggas front teeth for trying to help) 12th man. 10 marks for German? @reynolds46 Just the swashbuckling opener remains then!...
  5. To 'reive' is (was...) to 'steal cattle'... Apologies.
  6. Welcome @reynolds46, and that's a big 'Yessirree!'
  7. Tick! (though that was one played by mo standing at the non-strikers end, I'm afraid...)
  8. I'm afraid so. @mo64 has decided to score the odd mental run standing at the non-strikers end. He has this one
  9. Also hitting boundaries, @mo64! And generously rotating the strike 👍 @WalkingCivilWar, you can have @Demonstone's forfeited 0.1 mark for your No.6
  10. Hitting boundaries @Demonstone! (0.1 of a mark off for 'Done Jeans', though: it's 'Jean Dones'😁) Ten to go.
  11. I'm not sure even that's a requirement now that he's hit (and will hopefully be keeping) form. His arms are so long and he manages to get the hands at the end of them right at the apex of the ball's arrival.
  12. You also have dibs, then, on '57 days to go folks', deever 😀
  13. I'd like to think you'd bypass the black and go from the initial red to the final blue...
  14. If there was any 'stealing' going on (and I reckon it's possible, subconsciously if nothing else) it would have been the initial 'Bang!' (thanks @4_Kent_Watts and @BrisbaneDemon) after Oliver's goal. I think Brayshaw is good enough to have instantly mentally rewound the preceding 40 seconds and come up with the triple-treat repeat.
  15. Reckon you timed it exactly right, Chook. In the relaxed, measured voicing we've all been able to apply since the catharsis of 25/9, it would have taken you 7 seconds to say, 'Happy New Year (didn't time it quite right but I'll live!)'. Or for Melbourne to kick the first two goals of 2022...
  16. (Coupla days off line and I'm only up to page 100 in my emojing but I'll quote as I go!😁) From BT, I did however like (including for its slight, unsurprising mangle, but not for the fact he interrupted someone to say it) 'I tell you, JB, the crowd level noise here is eee-lectric!'
  17. * The Oxford Don Rev. WA Spooner, that is! As promised, Too-Much-Time-On-Your-Hands-Puzzle-Nerds😉 This team would be considerably more competitive than the VFL/AFL team he named. At least in the current series... 1. Swamp-ed Spanish fishing boat? 2. Crumbs?! 3. She pretends to go up the hill? 4. Tapestry shop? 5. Artist Ken's 'Denim Period'? 6. That man waits in line. 7. Rustle, saying, '______ ___ stones...' 8. Cheese off market? 9. Trick type. 10. Surround Shirley 11. Hay, gathered then cropped! 12th man. 10 marks for German? I wish you the opposite of what William Archibald, quoting me, might appear to wish you: 'Crappy hacking!'
  18. He was closer in the Battle of the Dos, but B Fritsch had his measure there, too.
  19. Gotta stay in the moment, ready for the interactions, when we parade thus, Cards (my 2021 member cap has been somewhat of a fixture 😀) Yesterday - anonymously cap-less this time - I saw a bloke with a Knight Premiers T-shirt and went across to him, pointed to his chest and gave a big thumbs up. Took him several seconds, and another point, to twig.
  20. Our Norm Smith medallist...
