  1. Big ticks for 6, 10 and 14, Mazer. Streeting the field! However, you get the ' 'fraid not ' this time, for 13; and as you see, previous recipient @mo64 has nailed that one. Creative though - Odd rowan! And, yes, The Magnet is selected...
  2. Loving your thinking and creativity, @mo64, but no chocolates with 6 and 10. However, I am calling a tie for you on Glenn L, between you and @Demonstone
  3. Nice 'straight cryptic' try, mo, but 'fraid not again. He played with another of the same surname, but they weren't brothers.
  4. @mo64, et al, perhaps a better(?) clue for 19 might have been 'Catchcry for wicketkeeper Maddocks'!?
  5. Are you there, @WalkingCivilWar?😉
  6. Single-figure gamers 1. 'Skinny mountain lakes' TONY BARNES (Bony tarns) 2. 'Heel, [censored]!' 3. 'Alley-boy band' WAYNE LAMB (Lane-WHAM!) 4. 'Hay, gathered by May' 5. 'Irritater in the coven?' MITCH WHITE (Witch mite) Double-figure gamers 6. 'Batman's hit on creep' 7. 'Cask cutter' DARYL BOURKE (Barrel dirk) 8. 'Ms Burnett, getting more silly' DARYL CUMMING (Carol, dumbing) 9. 'Banjo-strummy strumpet?' 10. 'Get another gaoler?' 11. 'Lament blemish' 12. 'Fish provides extra strength' ROD KEOGH (Cod reo) 13. 'Grumbly Scottish icon' 14. 'Lacking reception?' 15. 'Greek's eighth of sixteen in chess' PETER THORNE (Theta pawn) 16. 'Cat-cleaner brand' DOM TYSON (Tom Dyson) 100 gamers 17. 'Lobby Grandad? Fine!' 18. 'Carpenter's joiner?' DARREN KOWAL (Karen dowel) 19. 'Cry to wicketkeeper Maddocks?' 20. 'Smash into little bits' JACK WATTS (Whack jots) 21. 'Tired and poor' (though the exact opposite) SEAN WIGHT, RIP (Worn sh**e) 200 gamer 22. 'Qualifying and grand final Saint hero' BRAD GREEN (Grad Breen) More than half way there, folks. Any other combatants out there? And @mo64, it's a 'no' to Lobby Loyde but the Maddocks is Len!
  7. Will do, Ds! Very well done again, you, and @Mazer Rackham, particularly, and @mo64. And with only 3 competitors atm, you're all podium!
  8. 'Fraid not 😔 I see what you did there though. Nice! Cryptic hint: always be suspicious of punctuation!
  9. That's it, Mr Stone! One of the easier ones, as no homophoning involved, and I guess the 200 games shrank the pot. Anyway, you're away!
  10. *Spooner, that is! He has to dig deep - from today right back through to early 1977 - to find 22 who debuted in that period who might trip him up. As befits a man of the cloth, his selections are not about winning - there's the odd champion here but quite a few are boys whose flame burnt quite-to-very briefly, and not altogether brightly, for the Red and Blue. And while he didn't pick a Weid 'ere, you might 'ave to go there. So, who of you will turn out to have 'Coached the show'? ('coached', synonym 'taught', sounds like 'tort' / 'show', synonym 'seem', sounds like 'seam') - that is, to 'Tort the seam', as this Rev might have said? Single-figure gamers 1. 'Skinny mountain lakes' 2. 'Heel, [censored]!' 3. 'Alley-boy band' 4. 'Hay, gathered by May' 5. 'Irritater in the coven?' Double-figure gamers 6. 'Batman's hit on creep' 7. 'Cask cutter' 8. 'Ms Burnett, getting more silly' 9. 'Banjo-strummy strumpet?' 10. 'Get another gaoler?' 11. 'Lament blemish' 12. 'Fish provides extra strength' 13. 'Grumbly Scottish icon' 14. 'Lacking reception?' 15. 'Greek's eighth of sixteen in chess' 16. 'Cat-cleaner brand' 100 gamers 17. 'Lobby Grandad? Fine!' 18. 'Carpenter's joiner?' 19. 'Cry to wicketkeeper Maddocks?' 20. 'Smash into little bits' 21. 'Tired and poor' (though the exact opposite) 200 gamer 22. 'Qualifying and grand final Saint hero' My apologies for probable political incorrectnesses (looking at you, 9? And maybe 8?) and borderline censorables (2, and 21 (RIP)) Tim Edit: I see 2 is censored!😄 It was, shall we say, a homophone of 'Prymke without me'?
  11. Why do I believe you, WCW? p.s. Hope this helps
  12. Have we got 38 more pages in us to get to Tommy Mac's icer? 😏
  13. (c.c. @daisycutter) I was done yesterday. Is insomnia a symptom? It's after midnight and I've been able to stay awake watching R23 from 7 minutes to go in the 3rd. Looking forward to symptoms extending into tomorrow night...
  14. Pet's name "Judd", childhood address "McVee St"?
  15. Watching last quarter of R23, with commentary for Tom Sparrow's kick at goal, last quarter, for the lead: "If he can nail this it'll be the biggest of his career, by some margin". Wouldn't have lasted long... 😆
  16. Yeah, thanks @dazzledavey36; I did have a spare 20, easy to find in Premiers2021land. Such a pleasure to watch where he is in the lead-up to his goals, knowing he's going to get it; I was struck by his sense, read and speed getting to the fall of the ball, sometimes from well away from the drop.
  17. Anything then to be taken from the running over the top of them in the praccy match? The squad sure seems to have a balance and dynamic reflective of the mens'. I've reflected on MFCSS coming for the women's team on another thread. This thread is for POSITIVE!
  18. Being reminded of the opportunity COVID wrenched from the women (and so us!) in 2020, along with a main angle in Birch's article - that, notwithstanding the voluntary actions (presumably all teams are taking), ultimate success rests on "...if you can beat COVID..." - I'm wondering if MFCSS, now cured (in remission? *cough*) with respect to the men's team, is trying to find a toehold in our following of the women's fortunes? The possibility that a team a dozen or more players below full strength might be required to play a team at full strength doesn't help...
  19. Interesting 'get', dc. I had to look that up; did you? And I see your Haha, @WalkingCivilWar. Did you have to look it up too?
  20. (Quoted cos 1 emojed response not sufficient for 2 clevernesses...)
  21. Gosh, Redleg, I thought I'd at least have to reach junior officer level for such an invitation! No confusion at all - though I realise my naming of the Valiant Vessel should have been NT$NBS. My reference, and congratulations, to 'Thread' was to (The) NT$NBS - i.e. No T$ No BS - thread, definitely not, in any way to the individual WSNBN. But, a 'mea culpa' if (as the mealy-mouthed contrite like to say these days) 'anyone has been offended'. Onwards across the seven seas!
  22. You got me thinking, Mr Stone; I realise I've been in the camp muariesy's quip identifies. So, online I went, and Merriam-Webster there has detailed etymological discussion approving both for the purpose of saying (to use M-W's suggested confusion-avoiding alternative) 'zero in' on something. Regardless, I'm expecting Goody's next update to refer to zero injuries or other issues, with skills and fitness being further honed, and all directed towards a home premiership.
