  1. I don't get any of this but it makes me smile! So thanks!
  2. This is so a Jack Watts thread! (but it doesn't quite look like what I'm used to?!)
  3. Well, that's a departure from the accepted DL wisdom re JG! Love them both and wish we could pick 30 each week!
  4. Didn't see the game and haven't seen the replay yet (am just getting vicarious jollies from trawling through this thread atm) but my best impressions of AB's short career so far have been him loping through the corridor and raking it into the 50 (usually to Jeffy). Do we want/need him in the forwards? He's a back-of-the-square-to-forward-of-the-square link for mine. Clarry ('Jordie'?) is a get it in the contest / rip it out of the contest type for me.
  5. ...and any love for Jakey M?
  6. Here's a thought: could Ed now go before Nath? Nah. Resume normal transmission.
  7. We are a broad church, to be sure!
  8. A straw poll: How many here on D'Land have MFC-related plates? I am one (though I, like many, will prefer to sit on the specifics, to keep my anonimity).
  9. I imagine the critical mass of demons there will allow Hell to be successful in the rights bidding. And the replays will always melt at the 30 minute mark of a 10 goal last quarter.
  10. As Douglas Adams might (not) have said to you all, "So long, and thanks for all the giraffes"
  11. Always my fear, too, GoB - it's almost infallibly fatal - but fear not this time; the sub-editor's dream, the American 'Pie, is playing his first!
  12. Fasolo: Round 1, poor; Round 2, brilliant; Round 3, poor. Uh oh! Break the run, Nev.
  13. Steady BA, we all have to start somewhere. I'm just impressed they've known how to start a thread!
  14. And a number of other China/Chinese community based initiatives, I think, here and in China. Reaction from PJ or Bartlett?
  15. Dieter...puh-lease!!!
  16. I'm not voting, having not yet seen the game, but I just wanted to comment on how totally lacking in negativity has been the voting above, indicating that today was very positive for the club, despite the 'loss'. Often even our wins have had a negative cast in the votes thread. We seem to have been a real 2016 AFL football team today.
  17. I think you'll find that's a leg and a kneecap. Father/daughter?
  18. Advice to the hardy ones supporting our team 'live': Don't confuse low temperature with no sun effect. Hobart is the land of wafer thin ozone layer: if the sun is out, you may freeze (particularly with the wind chill factor at Bellerive Oval, famous for a direct line of sight down the Derwent to Antarctica) but you will also crisp up nicely in half an hour.
  19. Lloyd: "I know they're talking to him internally" "He'll get over it"
  20. Footy Classified in 45: He'll be quizzed on it I reckon. As to the issue, Jesse seemed to have a licence to roam - and impose himself on the whole game - last year and the earlier games but usually seemed bolted into the arc on Saturday. A role miscalculated?
  21. From what I've seen down at Casey, if he does enough with his final(?) rookie year, I see a lot of similarity, and a future, in Max King. The weekend's Casey game sounded promising.
  22. Sorry if this one's been pointed out before. 1st quarter, 11:18 in: Parish 5 metres away running at him, with momentum, directly in his line of sight as he marks. How could he possibly have thought he could play on safely? Is this (lack of) awareness reparable? He has so much upside, particularly the crunch intercept marking. These moments are letting him down.
