CASEY: Rd 06 vs Sydney
To fill in a couple of maybe gaps and uncertainties in the foregoing (I, too, followed the forwards): Mitch B clearly 'better' than Ben B, but some distance from a knock-down-the-door performance. No evidence of the defensive contribution required in the Ones. Some of MB's shots were from the 50 and/or from wide, contributing to the (in)accuracy. Positioning appeared to be a mix of delivery and his own decisions. BB: was well shadowed by monster Swans #2; didn't (couldn't?...) do any demanding leading; flew on the outside of packs, or otherwise badly positioned or timed in them; didn't have the legs or/and will to chase (NQR legs? - his running style atm looks (is?) slow); basically didn't look very interested. On a side note, have the Casey boundaries been moved in a bit? Maybe to exactly replicate MCG?

CHANGES: Rd 11 vs Western Bulldogs
Coinjar vs Coinspot next week (doesn't affect selections of course - does it?... - but couldn't find anywhere else to note this curiosity...)

Gawn: Casey is the key
Thanks, Hatch. Might need to get one if the grandkids to set that up for me!

CHANGES: Rd 10 vs Adelaide
Couple of posts here toying with the idea of leaving Max off the plane trip, for 'management' leading into 'The Fortnight', and I add mine (though his latest - positive and insightful - media offering would make that look a little awkward...) I'm also attracted to the idea of Jackson, as a 6'6" Barassi, in for Chandler.

Why Oliver is More Dangerous Than You Think
Re that spooky '9+ straight wins = Premiership' that Ch.7 threw up: in none of those years was No.13 in the team. And, indeed, in the Glorious55to64 there was no No.13. Just sayin'... Thooooough... ...Les Jones kicked 3 in 1939, and Max Spittle was among the best in 1948...

A Danger Game
...Which leaves E-NOISE, by the way. The fugazi on here that this is a danger game?....

A Danger Game
Nice angle, D17, but I have to step in: not enough Ls and Ms for Christian but there is sufficient for a Gawn to drop back into the hole...

Why Oliver is More Dangerous Than You Think
Footy Classified just had a piece highlighting the 2021 improvement in his kicking, both choice of targets and delivery to those targets. The already 'wow' getting 'wower'.

Happy Birthday, MFC!
We are becoming news! The music program host on my very un-sporty local rural community FM radio station, in her Happy Birthday segment, just wished the Melbourne Football Club one, for today's anniversary of the club's incorporation in 1859 (after it's formation in 1858) ??? !! ? ??

James Jordon Re-Signs Until 2023
Now it's 9 games. Does anyone have the stamina to fully look into the 'afltables' source material for TPF39's post to see whether anyone ahead of James played their winning games from debut in the firsts consecutively? I looked at a couple of the other 9s and they didn't, and I checked ahead and Mumford didn't.

What winning means to the team?
Not just yet DA (it's your fault having those initials!) Props to you, WCW, and Lucie and Mr Stone, for your 'encryption' of MFCSS. I got as far as 'Spooner's campanologist...' then my brain caved in... I'd actually only meant to throw out a challenge for an 'antagonistic or belligerent' alternative for 'Supporter'. May I contribute 'Skyisfalling'?

Any suggested cryptic crossword alternatives, WCW??

Training Ground?
"It will be a great venue for Storm to train (at)". This, and the modest $17m cost; I don't think they're moving there. Just a 'community contribution' to local grass roots, and potential talent pool maybe. The Casey Fields 'makeover' was $8m.

Membership 2021
52,421 was the final tally announced by the AFL in August 2019. We crossed 50,000 some time in May, so we're tracking OK, I guess, particularly if there's a COVID effect as is apparently affecting attendances. Interestingly, at the time, Pert noted our target was 60,000.

Striped Socks
My old-fart memory somewhat different, Sis, and just youtubed Bobby Skilton's career to confirm it was red and white hoops. Then went further back to find ditto in Bob Pratt's time. So... ...they should have hooped it!!?

Centre Clearances - Considered Analysis Requested.
Kudos to everyone for the foregoing amazing, detailed analysis. Beyond my range, and I dips my lid. Anyway, two coaches (one a loser and one a winner) have put centre clearances at the top of their agenda in preparing for their match next week. Should be something to watch!

POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Sydney
I wasn't able to see the game (but am now enjoying this read!?) so in case they don't feature again anywhere, could someone post 1. RDB singing the Song, 2. The post-match Tom MacDonald.

Meet new MFC President Kate Roffey interview
Got her Aussie rules chops playing at ANU. Good on her - my (post grad) footy alma mater, early '80s in the Monaro Australian Football League. But no girls then ☹
