By the logic of the press conference if we don’t come out firing in q1 on the weekend goody should walk because otherwise he’s just talking absolute bull. I’ll be watching with baited breath as I just don’t see the signs but if he manages to get the team to collectively pull the finger out I’ll be impressed and then he needs to get them do it for the rest of the year. If he does then we will get our share of wins for the remainder of the season and he might keep his job

I don’t think if we beat tigers and wc in consecutive weeks anyone would have there mind changed if we still goto the bye at 3 wins 11 losses or something of that nature, even if we went 50/50 for the next 9 games that’s still 4.5 wins and 9.5 losses, Goodwin isn’t surviving bar a miracle turn round. The decision will be officially made after the bye imo.

Better to be the team that was than never has been, at least we have 2021 blues have nothing to look back on if that group fails too. Have a few blues mates and there highlight of the last 20 years in beating Dee’s in that semi final, quite sad really.

Feel like either he takes us to a grand final in 2 years or he completely blows up the team and we spend the next decade rebuilding 50/50. At this stage I’d take the gamble.

We have seen plenty of of presidents in the afl do this David Koch called out Hinkley, we saw Kennett call out Clarkson back in the day, it’s quite common those are 2 I can think of quickly but there is plenty more if I cared to go over it

Not calling out Gawn specifically for that game but just more any player who looks to be coasting vs what you would expect, certainly Gawn has done that in several games this year. If I look at some of our rookies and lesser players this year they still seem to be giving there all even if they aren’t as good. I just want see the team at the end of the game win or lose and know they couldn’t have done anything more which isn’t the case this year. You can see it the Dee’s of 2021 for a qtr here and there but then the effort drops again the gut run to make the next contest isn’t there players start walking or jogging and give there opponents to much room then the whole system breaks down and players start pointing fingers, none of this is a skill just effort

If there is any way out of this hole it’s through a circuit breaker, either Goodwin needs to go now or he needs to start dropping senior players who aren’t giving there all, even if they are still best 22, nothing is going to change if the club accepts mediocrity. We have to many players coasting probably not helped by giving them long term contracts and a weak leader ship from the board down. Perhaps if players like Gawn or viney spent a week or 2 in the vfl they might find the hunger again

I think he’s already done, but history would say sacking the coach this early in the year isn’t useful, I think we just need to wait till the bye and that will be it, hard to see us been any better than 3 and 9

Good idea Goodwin let’s play same core team who got us in this mess and expecting change. The sooner you are gone the sooner we move forward as it’s clear you won’t ever change.

Houston in retrospect would have been a mistake imagine been down the bottom and not even having drafted Langford and Lindsay

Sure but who was on the market, there is only a dozen key fwds worth there salt in the afl and none have been gettable. Look round nearly all key fwds need to be drafted only 2 high profile ones have changed clubs in the last 10 years and at huge cost to the clubs the got them. Probably the big miss was not getting hogan back but he was a gamble for gws and I dont think he left us on the best terms

Even if our top picks all work out our depth just isn’t there once our older players leave or retire, it’s going to be a long and painful 4-5 years at minimum

What is the point of continuing with goody now, we won’t be playing finals again the team has gone backwards again this year and every year since 2021. I remember vividly when we called time on Daniher everyone was sad but knew it was time with Goodwin I don’t think I will have any sadness just a question of why we didn’t do it sooner. Every year I feel more and more Goodwin got extremely lucky in 2021 that everything just came together and he was just a passenger, good coaches don’t have teams drop off a cliff like this when seemingly all the peaces are there.

Yep wouldn’t be looking at either to solve our issues, not sure there is really anyone on there list that I’d honestly want outside there untouchables in Charlie, Weitering and TDK

Don’t understand why anyone thinks they will respond differently after this weeks review than they did after the north loss, the only reason there is any hope of improvement is based on personal coming in, but the team as a whole is so far off in effort atm I’m not sure that it really helps. We may be 0-3 like Carlton but they are a team only a few changes away from turning it round, us on the other hand seem totally lost at sea.

Trac no Oliver yes, simply because Trac still has significant trade capital while Oliver doesn’t, Oliver would have to be traded out essentially for nothing due to his contract which I imagine clubs would ask us to pay a portion so not worth the effort. All of this based on the assumption we need to fast “trac” a rebuild

Might be a bit old school but Goodwin needs to send message by dropping a senior player or 2 to show they aren’t safe from the repercussions, think Trac, Oliver and Viney all need a rocket after last week so one of them should be sacrificed
