  1. Mistake if we don’t take Curtain at 6 assuming he is still there, Leake should still be there 11 so no need to rush and take him early if we also want him. We are set for mids and they are easier to draft or trade for if we want another next year.
  2. This years draft is quite weak after the first 10 by all reports, no way would it be worth giving up 3 first rounds picks to to effectively upgrade pick 6 to 3 those other picks aren’t worth a whole lot. Even if we won the flag next year 18 next year is worth more than 18 this year and we might finish significantly lower making the deal even worse. At best I’d think 6 and next years 1st for 3 would be sufficient.
  3. I’d say best chance of getting pick 1 would be package up 6 and futures 1st for 3 and then trade 3 and 11 for 1
  4. Going to fit right in with our dead eye forward line
  5. Hawks still a few years off, this year is these lowest finish ever, I think ppl are under estimating how long there build will take, if they play finals inside next 3 years I’ll be surprised
  6. 2x pick 4 is better than 6 11 and 10-18 imo
  7. Fact wc knocked back pick 4 from hawks and there first next year likely to be in the same range. I can’t see how our pick 6 and 11 this year plus our first next year would be enough.
  8. He’s 28 yo player who lost his spot in a team who didn’t even make finals, I'm not sure why we are even going after him let alone trading a 2nd round pick, I suspect he would be delisted by crows as soon as he is out of contract. James Harmes is the same age and shown significantly more though out his career and yet we are happy to walk him out the door for effectively nothing.
  9. Do we trade our or swans 2nd round pick for next year, who do we expect to finish higher
  10. Think it’s more when cats and tigers and hawks needed big name players in there window they got them. Tigers and cat needed another key fwd got Lynch and Cameron, cats needed a mid got danger, hawks needed key backs got Lake and Frawley. Why are we unable to get a king or larkey like they would, even swans tried and failed for naughton. where it the story of us making a 10 year 12 mill offer for someone
  11. Any idea who would be at 11 that wouldn’t be at 14 that we might want so bad, can only assume we trying to jump ahead of someone keen in the same player
  12. If we end up using a later pick for someone else then we are idiots
  13. So we trade 14 27 and 35 for 11 in a deal that involved crows while they trade 23 and 26 for 14 and Chris Burgess. How did we not get mcadam as part of that
  14. Yea can’t figure this out 27 and 35 to move from 14 to 11, unless those picks weren’t going to be used it doesn’t make much sense
  15. Unless you think Petty has peaked as a player why sell now when we can extract even more value in future years and continue to have a best 22 player on our list, it only stands to reason if Petty continues to improve which is more likely that not we will get even better offers next year and the year after. Crows trying to get him now before his value goes up even further.
  16. Difference was when Frawley left we weren’t risking anything we were basically bottom of the ladder and the only way was up. Granted it worked out as we got hogan and then may for hogan. Petty still has 2 more years on his contract, why rush into a trade when we have no obvious replacement we can always revisit next year once things become clearer and maybe we have a trade target. Even picks 10 and 20 even if possible aren’t the most alluring picks we could do better next year or the year after if petty stays fit and counties to improve.
  17. Billings is the definition of an almost player, almost kicked the goal, almost won the game. If things clicked he would be a great pickup but would anything change if he played for us.
  18. Nope he has the talent but not the commitment to be a professional sports person. We already have Spargo and Chandler who I much prefer over him
  19. Sure but I don’t think even in dogs worst fear they would end up with a pick 4 next season so they are effectively paying next years 1st and alate 1st round this year for pick 4
  20. Well it’s 2 for 1 since they have a father son they want to get a pick before, if they wait till pick 10 they probably have to use it already. So they can afford to pay overs
  21. Just needs time and to stay together. But our hand might be forced, If we had to trade Oliver, Larkey and Pick 2 from north or King and Pick 4 as starting points would be the only options I’d consider. McKay has to many flaws I’d not want to give what blues would demand
  22. We have 2 years to find a replacement if he won’t sign an extension by end of next, by then JVR and Jefferson should be our 1-2 and it’s just matter of finding a Steven May replacement
  23. So we lost to pies with bad kicking by 7 points, Gus getting knocked out and a fwd line tapped together and some how we are out of the window, pull another one. A few less injuries and some further development and maybe a smart trade and we are more than in the hunt
  24. I’d feel much better if we were doing something towards improving our list. At an absolute best this is status quo
  25. Other than a feel good story not sure this helps, 32 yo fringe player coming off an acl trying to get into the side late next year at best. People already worried about Tmac and Ben Brown taking up spots on the list this will be a 3rd player who is unlikely to have any impact next year
