  1. McAdam and Petty need to go back to the 2nds, time we bring in Jefferson and see what he is about no point waiting till it’s forced on us late in the year and then one of Sestan, Brown or Tholstrup as a fwd / mid
  2. Difference with pies is they had a 2 game gap between them and 2nd and 3 between them and 3rd with 5 rounds remaining and with that the luxury of preparing for finals. At the present time dees are in a fight to hold a sport inside the 8. By no means is the season over but don’t I don’t think the example is comparable. I could be proven wrong but dees this year unlike the last 3 seem clearly to have fallen back to the pack but some what lucky for us outside swans everyone else has had more than a few stumbles
  3. So now good is 2025 looking only 42 weeks to round 1
  4. The problem is if our main liners don’t have a good game it rare to see the next players down step up, although I don’t know that is unique to us. But when’s the last time Sparrow ANB, rivers, Salem and the like stepped up when players like Trac and Oliver or May are Struggling. They play there role and might have a good game when when everyone else is but I dont recall when they have had a statement game when the chips were down
  5. Could bring in any fwds you like and it wouldn’t help with only 36 inside 50s for the game, we simply couldn’t move the ball from defensive 50 to attacking 50 and when we did it didn’t stay long
  6. Feels like maybe they have just hit a wall after 3 years at the very top, Oliver clearly down for obvious reasons, trac looks like he has got to big and lost some agility, viney just getting older and has begun the slow decline. Sparrow hasn’t really taken the next step and I don’t think anb is really a legitimate answer but tries his best and is fine to fill rotations on occasion
  7. I don’t want to sound overly dramatic because we lost tonight but do you think the window might be closed or quickly closing on this specific iteration of our team. It feels like our current ladder position 7th is probably a accurate reflection of where we sit and I can’t see that significantly changing this season. Do dees need to go hard at the trade table end of season and move on some premiership players in order to get capital to go bring in some new high end talent. Similar to what we did with Hogan leaving and May coming in at the end of 2018.
  8. Dees sit 7th and is probably a accurate reflection of how they are going, I said it before the year we weren’t a top 4 side anymore and I think that is been born out the more the year goes on. The window on another flag with this specific list is probably over now and we need to reload and go again with some big trades end of the year. Ala how we got Steven May and Jake Lever originally
  9. Officially an issue we are consistently getting beaten round the centre bounce now, the new game plan this year simply isn’t working
  10. Wc will be out highest score against all year we are way off it
  11. Playing for a top 4 spot and losing to a bottom 4 team
  12. How long before this is an issue
  13. If the difference between winning and loosing vs eagles is lever then we aren’t a good team to start with
  14. Reid burning trac wish we had some speed like that
  15. Looks like a long one eagles not going to give up easy
  16. What expected scores won’t show is that they had us at arm length all night and just took the foot off too early and panicked at the end, once you get a lead like that it affords you all kinds of options, if we weren’t so far behind maybe Trac doesn’t go fwd full time and blues continue to build a lead. No way can anyone convince me we deserved to win that game last night based on expected scores, we were thoroughly outplayed for the for most of the first 3 qtrs. To add expected score also assumes each point could be a potential goal, what it misses is if you goal it goes back to the centre and you reset, if you miss it’s a kick out and it’s still in your half for a potential repeat entry and another scoring chance which is often what occurs.
  17. That sort of effort is exactly why we haven’t won a final since 21, got close in the end but like the pies final last year we gave a good team to much head start . Dont think we have improved or fixed any of the issues from last year
  18. Dees absolutely horrible for 2.5 qtrs, had no answers for there clearance game and couldn’t hold a mark to save ourself. Took a desperation move to play Trac fwd and blues to absolutely drop the bundle by defending with over a qtr to go.
  19. Difference is we can get away with it given our defence, port don’t have that
  20. Tmac will get touched in pace by Cameron, not sure may is the answer but he will kick another 5 like tonight if it’s tmac
  21. And who played on him on Wednesday, he isn’t winning much of it regardless of who is on him
  22. Our loss to lions looking more costly with every passing week, we better bring our a game the next fortnight or the top 4 will gap us
  23. Say that next week, because if we play like that vs cats it will be over by half time and it will be the lions game all over again. All fine if we want to limp into the 8 and make up the numbers but I think most people here would expect more
  24. What pressure, most of the turn overs are under none, make you wonder wth they are thinking out there
  25. Because most people think you need a man mountain of a key fwd, the game is changing and a more mobile tall is the future
