Am I the only one thinking he will have a bit of catching up to do this pre season?

Biggest Draft Steals
It's funny how it works out. Messed up our attempt at a key forward with pick 12 then got an absolute gun key forward at pick 53.

2018 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
It was more to do with his draft rankings. He had Kieran Collins ranked at 3 in 2015.

2018 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
The more you read from this guy, the more you realise he has no idea. An absolute fluke getting what the hawks did with this guy in charge.

Rating the 2013 Draft (afl.com)
Well I know they weren't 2nd in line after Salem. We had Lewis Taylor on standby as our back up for pick 9.

Rating the 2013 Draft (afl.com)
That's a different discussion, I guess you could interpret the sentence that way if you wish, but it's not my line of thought. They overrated the players that they were considering at pick 9. You would think that they thought there would be little difference between the player picked at pick 9 and the player picked at 2. I remember at the time of the draft, Kevin Sheehan talking about how he thought this could be the best top 10 in the history of the draft. Undoubtebly Cripps is an elite talent and would have been a steal at pick 9. Zach Merrett is another one if you are going down that path of players taken after pick 9. The difference is Kelly was widely considered to be a future star by multiple clubs and was being labelled a future Brownlow medalist prior to being drafted by recruiters.

Jarryd Lyons
Could be handy depth but he doesn't play the same role as any of these players. I would much prefer him in the team as opposed to Maynard though.

Rating the 2013 Draft (afl.com)
Either way, our recruiters messed it up. If they were able to identify how good Kelly was and how limited Tyson was then they would have advised the club against proceeding with the trade. It seems they also overrated what would be available at pick 9. Other clubs rated Kelly a lot higher than we did and it shows that they were on the mark. Kangaroos are on the record as saying they tried to get a pick in the mini draft to get him. We had 2 shots to get him and elected not to on both occasions.

PICKS # 26 & 31 (formerly # 23 & 28)
You are comparing Spargo to Gresham? One is extremely talented while one gets the most out of his limited ability. If McHenry is like Spargo, not interested. If he is like Gresham, he won't be available at our pick.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Strongly disagree that the numbers show that. The numbers show that most of the elite key position players explode in season 3 or 4. Jesse has continued at a similar level since his initial season. His numbers I would imagine are similar to Jack Darlings. Goals in 4th season: Riewoldt 78 Roughead 75 Walker 63 Cameron 63 He is a good player, but he isn't close to the player some on these boards talked him up as from season one.

Farewell Dean Kent
Don't know what the rules are these days but in the past that may have prevented him from starting pre season with them. 75 is useless to us and I would make them go to the draft if that's all they are willing to part with.

He has at times. Mahoney has stated that he sees him as a half back and wing option to bolster the strength of our running midfield.

Farewell Dom Tyson
Why? Salem was given a go in the middle in the first half of the season and showed he isn't that good at it.
-
Farewell Dom Tyson
Probably that Tyson is a lovely kick. BT and numerous other commentators always drop this line in.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I don't see any relevance between the 2 players?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Unfortunately, I feel you are right. No trade!

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I would hope we intend to turn one of the picks into a player. If Hogan's going out I would want Wingard, Shiel or May coming in.

Post Match Discussion - Elimination Final
Those 2 goals he missed you expect him to kick. I don't know who he was trying to evade on the first attempt. It wasn't just his disposal in this game, his decision making seemed off also. Parfitt has stitched him up a couple of times before so it was nice for Salem to blanket him tonight.

Shocking, people are actually able to discuss football matters on a football forum.

Interesting that 4 of the top 6 speeds were in games involving Melbourne, and 2 of the top 3 came from likely opponents in the same game.

Bernie Vince Retires
It was 6 players that have won a B&F at two VFL/AFL clubs apparently and played 100 games at each club. He has been great for us and I agree that the time is right to finish up. Played some absolutely amazing games but unfortunately you could see that despite giving it his all, his body isn't what it used to be.

Andrew Gaff
I could be wrong, but I recall from years ago, that he had some kind of connection to one of the doctors at Essendon.

As someone mentioned, It was reported by Mark Robinson on AFL 360 last night. However, as another poster also mentioned, it is their belief that Mark Robinson mentioned Angus when meaning to refer to Andrew. That was also my take watching the AFL 360 last night.

What skill would that be? He is very vanilla.
