Dees on Brink of Another Trade Disaster
Ok. We picked up Kozie ( likely 200 games) Jackson , ditto, Rivers, possibly ditto plus Bennell, Langdon, Tomlinson seems ok to me. I think we are a live chance this year, and a terrific chance next year

Do you still think so Greendale, after today? jackson could win a Brownlow . Never seen an 18yo very tall, so promising

Dees to win flag
I don’t think this is as demented as others do. first, it was written last week. We’ve since scored a win. Secondly, we’ve played WC in Perth, Cats and Tigers at the G. Lost to Cats by 2 points. An extremely hard group of matches; we haven’t lost a match we were expected to win,. Our position on ladder looks bad but it is deceiving because we have a game in hand. something which was not mentioned but which is important is that this is , largely, a new side.. These blokes have not played many matches together . It doesn’t matter if May has played 150games. How many has he played with Oscar, Nev, Christian, Lever, Lockhart ?If u look at the v successful Richmond and WC teams in the past 5/6 years they’ve had great player continuity. I am certain the second half if the season will be stronger than the first half. it is now becoming plain that there are some poor teams and sooner or later we must play them. We could easily win a bunch of games in a row, and remember what happened in 2018. I think our list this year is stronger. I backed us for the flag pre season and at 80/1 the odds are ridiculous. Time to double up! Of course we may lose to the Hawks and Brisbane and you can all laugh at us

POSTGAME: Rd 04 vs Geelong
At the time we were playing well in Q2 TMAC was battling like hell, creating contests, nearly clunking a couple. Then he nearly gets broken ribs in Q3 but still takes a great grab and kicks a goal in the last.Get off his back! The problem is the gameplan when we beat the Cats easily in the finals in 2018 Weideman took a few marks.Even if he only creates a contest he must be played

TEAMS: Rd 04 vs Geelong
Without doubt something happened last weekend which caused doubt about Bennell. FWIW I woukd play Jackson again. He wasn’t too bad v Blues, shows all the promise. Play him alongside the FF, this requiring a Cats tall to play on him, we need his height.

How Important was Spargo
Just watched On Utube our match v GWS the last round before the finals in 2018. Although I was at that match, I hadn’t realised just how clever was Spargo, both by hand and foot setting up a number of goals . Lost his way last year, but having watched this I believe we should persevere with hiM

Intra-Club Game: Round 3
I think Brown is big enough, but is he good enough.? He did play well in the practice match. Had he kicked decently v WC it would have been much closer

CHANGES: Rd 04 vs Geelong
This week’s team made sense because it was forecast to be quite wet. We were lucky the match wasn’t played! i think we do need a key forward and on the basis of the Practice match perhaps it has to be Brown

Jake Lever.. Can someone explain??
Bugger me!!! Someone wants to play Hore this week and You want to play Petty. both are injured for long periods

Jake Lever.. Can someone explain??
Sorry, but that’s rubbish. Lever doesn’t hold our defence together. He never held any defence together. He can play very well if we play 7 defenders and he is the loose man. That was his role in a very good Adelaide side, which played 7 defenders including Talia and Brown who played on the key forwards . When it was rumoured that we were hoping to get him, Mick Malthouse, at that time a great supporter of MFC, commented that he had never seen Lever best an opponent man on man. On this occasion Malthouse is correct. If we want to see Lever at his best, let him play as a loose man, on no-one . May and OMac on the key forwards. If we can afford to do that Id be very pleased

I agree re Hore but he’s injured, out for a long time

Great coaching from Goody
There are a number of players who’ve retired or been delisted by Dees, including some with quite high profiles . In such circumstances, bitter ex players are v likely to criticise. Yet I know of none who have

Great coaching from Goody
Don’t believe that many of those blokes woukd be critical of Goodwin. Half of them are injured, most of the others are not in best 22.lockhart a bit stiff but was given a good run ( out of nowhere) last year. Have a listen to the interviews with Chaplin/ Richardson re tge players’ respect for the coach

Great coaching from Goody
Well last year Lewis and Vince went into print in support of our coach. And I am quite close to a Player delisted at the end of last year with every reason to be [censored] off with Goodwin, but who continued to tell: me that he and the playing group were totally behind hi
