He was anything but average in the effect he had upon MFC. i know he had problems But I woukd never have let him go
  2. At the time we were playing well in Q2 TMAC was battling like hell, creating contests, nearly clunking a couple. Then he nearly gets broken ribs in Q3 but still takes a great grab and kicks a goal in the last.Get off his back! The problem is the gameplan when we beat the Cats easily in the finals in 2018 Weideman took a few marks.Even if he only creates a contest he must be played
  3. They did only kick 7 goals five. but I agree, our gameplay was [censored]. We must have another tall forward
  4. Hannan was v good for his first match for ages. Better than many others
  5. Yes it definitely leaked like a sieve? Geelong who played in last year’s prelim, had 12 scoring shots. Some leak!

Without doubt something happened last weekend which caused doubt about Bennell. FWIW I woukd play Jackson again. He wasn’t too bad v Blues, shows all the promise. Play him alongside the FF, this requiring a Cats tall to play on him, we need his height.

Just watched On Utube our match v GWS the last round before the finals in 2018. Although I was at that match, I hadn’t realised just how clever was Spargo, both by hand and foot setting up a number of goals . Lost his way last year, but having watched this I believe we should persevere with hiM
  8. I think Brown is big enough, but is he good enough.? He did play well in the practice match. Had he kicked decently v WC it would have been much closer
  9. This week’s team made sense because it was forecast to be quite wet. We were lucky the match wasn’t played! i think we do need a key forward and on the basis of the Practice match perhaps it has to be Brown
  10. Bugger me!!! Someone wants to play Hore this week and You want to play Petty. both are injured for long periods
  11. Sorry, but that’s rubbish. Lever doesn’t hold our defence together. He never held any defence together. He can play very well if we play 7 defenders and he is the loose man. That was his role in a very good Adelaide side, which played 7 defenders including Talia and Brown who played on the key forwards . When it was rumoured that we were hoping to get him, Mick Malthouse, at that time a great supporter of MFC, commented that he had never seen Lever best an opponent man on man. On this occasion Malthouse is correct. If we want to see Lever at his best, let him play as a loose man, on no-one . May and OMac on the key forwards. If we can afford to do that Id be very pleased
  12. I agree re Hore but he’s injured, out for a long time
  13. There are a number of players who’ve retired or been delisted by Dees, including some with quite high profiles . In such circumstances, bitter ex players are v likely to criticise. Yet I know of none who have
  14. Don’t believe that many of those blokes woukd be critical of Goodwin. Half of them are injured, most of the others are not in best 22.lockhart a bit stiff but was given a good run ( out of nowhere) last year. Have a listen to the interviews with Chaplin/ Richardson re tge players’ respect for the coach
  15. Well last year Lewis and Vince went into print in support of our coach. And I am quite close to a Player delisted at the end of last year with every reason to be [censored] off with Goodwin, but who continued to tell: me that he and the playing group were totally behind hi
  16. A good post. I would just add that I can recall very few teams which have made 7 changes, including 2 18yos and have won. I reckon the coaching staff have decided that this team rather than the team for R1 offers more for the year as a whole. There will be disappointments but from what we saw I’m not sure the coaching staff got it wrong. and one other point. Carlton are not a bad team. On paper I thought they would win. Their players have played far more together, as a team, than ours have
  17. Mate, read what recently retired players, Lewis, Vince etc, or present assistant coaches say, notably that the players love playing for Goodwin
  18. Well once OMac was dropped Smith had to play back didnt he? I actually thought Smith looked v nervous. i hate dropping a bloke after one match but in my view Omac is critical to the success of the May/ Lever combination.
  19. What bloody rubbish. He was trying hard all day. V good opponent. And he did win the ball and get it to Fritsch for the winning score
  20. What a bloody silly post! His post was quite constructive.
  21. I bet Carlton win more games than they lose. Have a proper look at their team. Vastly more experienced than the Dees. i can’t believe the rubbish on this site. we made 7 changes. 9 of those playing today have not played 20games with MFC. Yet we won. Very lucky but we won. We played 2 kids for their first games, who will play 200 games and more . I think we have recruited brilliantly. Each of Kosi, Langdon, Tomlinson, Jackson and Rivers will be terrific players . Bennell got through the game.He cost nothing, for heavens’s sake him him time you can’t expect everything to gel in one match. I agree that May was undisciplined, Smith was poor, so was Melksham. Tom McD was on a very good opponent . We’ve learned we need one more key forward . Ok, let’s go forward, talk of sacking Goodwin is sickening , let alone stupid In past years we would have lost

I've asked before but don't think I've had a reply. Has KK trained at all this year? If not, and he has no prospect of playing, surely we should re ruin another player?
  23. Farmer replied to Demonland's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Has KK trained this year at all? Or is he working out in the gym? feel awfully sorry for him but if he is to miss the whole year it's a blow
  24. How long till you geese realise that Lever does not play a key defender role.?He never did in his great last year with Adelaide when they played Talia and Brown in the key roles, Lever as a tall floater. So unless Lockhart has put on 10cm and can play CHB or FB, Oscar or some other tall has to play

Is the club not publishing a list with details? would love to know more about Koladjashnij. If the poor bloke is not recovered after a complete summer break then regrettably a decision may have to be made. Very sorry about this as he can really play.. Not certain when we can add to a list but I was impressed by the bloke from Casey who filled in in the ruck last Friday when Bradtke was off the ground. I wouldn't mind him ( whatever his name is) as a backup ruckman. Bradke looks to be a couple of years away
