  1. It does make me laugh when people melt after a win. Don't change Demonland!
  2. We've all seen that movie a billion times over the years but thankfully McPherson didn't put the dagger in. Actually, even then it was set up for an after the siren free kick and goal. Glad that the footy gods are finally going easy on us. To be fair, the Suns probably deserved to win it. We won the flag in 2021 on the back of our defense. Not sure that's going to be the case this year. I'm certainly not writing a champion like May off after a couple of poor games, but he's 31, it's almost a bonus if he doesn't start to gradually decline from here. Lever hasn't recaptured his AA form and I think we need Petty to stay back. We seem to be conceding much higher scores this season but thankfully scoring more ourselves. Like seriously, how is Malcolm Rosas putting 4 on us?
  3. Great interview, Andy! May definitely didn’t fill me with much confidence that he’d be playing past 2025 but anything can happen I suppose. The 2021 hamstring story was incredible to listen to. What a beast.
  4. Yeah, I’m also curious in how long he sees himself playing for. His current contract expires at the end of 2025 (33 y/o), but I could easily see grumpy old man May playing a little longer than that. Hopefully that’s how he sees it too. I feel like it’s a question he’d be happy to answer honestly.
  5. Fritsch hasn't properly missed a set shot this season. He's credited with 1, but that was the highly dubious one after the siren when the score review guy had clocked out for the evening. It was gun barrel straight. Going to spit my beer out when he finally does miss one.
  6. I remember Grundy on Demonland’s very own podcast mentioning one of the key differences between Melbourne and Collingwood was how much practise Melbourne did on their set shot goal kicking over summer. He said Collingwood didn’t really ever do that. I thought it was a bit of an interesting comment at the time because goal kicking has been one of our weaknesses in recent years. But all of a sudden we can’t miss them. Choco is a genius.
  7. I can’t be bothered going to find the thread but Chandlermodium stocks must be about equal with Apple’s after that.
  8. One of the rare occasions where even the game day thread is full of positivity. There’s still time I guess. I remember late 2013 when North did the same thing to us, Boomer’s six in Hobart, Andrew Swallow in 2007, Brad Scott punching the air as the rubbish Roos ended up costing us finals in 2017. I have little sympathy for North and want this margin doubled.
  9. Sorry if this has been covered on previous pages - but has Selwyn unlocked the secret ingredients of Darren Burgess? We've had barely any injuries this season and we're torching teams in last quarters 6/6 won I'm pretty sure and some of those convincingly.
  10. Kanga Kanga Kanga the difference in the end. Chandler was massive and Judd just knows what to do. Hooray for youth! We have some issues but I'll take any win in Round 6. Please just retire Riewoldt. Always kills us.
  11. He wasn’t that bad was he? Two goals, a couple of misses, a dropped speccie. A couple of good defensive acts. Wasn’t his best outing but I don’t think he needs to be singled out just because he hasn’t signed.
  12. He’s a whiney little rodent but B Scott is a good coach, and he absolutely owns the Dees. One loss to us in a decade I think it is. And today’s performance was largely on the back of what he did with his magnets. I’m a little concerned that we’ve had two mulligans in five weeks. Last year we only got pantsed once down in Geelong and were overrun in a few other games. In 2021 we only had one or two mulligans for the entire year. But it’s a long season, still confident we’ll be there at the pointy end. People writing off Steven May need to get off Demonland for a couple of days.
  13. We know Tomlinson can have his bad days, but Petty has been in awful form this year too. Essendon forwards are having a field day.
  14. In better news, Gawn is at 1-2 already which puts him in the frame for Anzac Eve. Would be amazing if he only missed 3 games.
  15. That score review guy needs to be fired. Looked like a goal to me, at worst it was worth a closer look. I'll be bringing this up in August if percentage becomes a factor! Plainly unprofessional. Good solid scrappy win. A 10 goal margin was probably about par. Grundy is a freak of nature.
  16. I watched this on Channel 7. Bailey Laurie played an incredible game, but in a totally different role to what I was expecting. He reminded me a little of Caleb Serong, with a low centre of gravity and good decisions by hand and foot. It is next to impossible to get a game in our engine room at present, but it will be interesting to see how his career pans out from here. I think he’s good enough. Jefferson will be a handful on the MCG when he gets a few extra kilograms. Rangey type, really like the look of him.
  17. More like a 2022 performance so far. Fritsch has a [censored] laser boot and has been the difference between the two sides.
  18. Could not imagine a worse way to lose a game than that. Just imagine a parallel universe with Max’s kick falling short. Lol.
  19. Kosi for Hibberd. Petty to go back. Another possible out is Sparrow (just 10 touches) but I feel like he was vital in getting centre bounce clearance momentum back. No way can Harmes replace JJ. Jordon was immense today.
  20. Also I know Viney on Maverick Weller exists, but May's tackle today is up there with the best I've seen in our games.
  21. We are a better side than the 2021 version. Doesn't guarantee anything but I'm bloody excited. What a luxury having Brodie Grundy take over the #1 mantle from Max and absolutely dominate. Meanwhile McStay will be Collingwood's #1 ruck for the next month. LOL!
  22. Dogga is going to cop a hiding in the WA media this week. It's one thing dropping marks and having no impact, it's a whole other issue when a zip 2 team has their first pick tied up on the investment. Hope mum's lasagna is worth it.
  23. The journos are running with 4-6 weeks now too. Great news. And probably a lesson there for all of us who’ve been trawling this thread all day.
  24. Harmes is too clumsy for my liking and Melksham plays like he’s not invested. Obviously Gawn will go out for someone. I’d back the rest of them in. Sydney are a real bogey side and in form so I’m concerned about how this one plays out.
  25. I have no doubt if you told me May would be a late out and Max would go down in the opening minutes, then I would have known for sure we’d struggle to beat Brisbane on their own moist dung heap. But it was still a really poor performance, probably our worst effort since the Cairns debacles in 2020. So many clumsy frees against by the usual suspects. Petty has been poor this year and could make way for May. Just saying. His hobbling can’t fool me! Love the guy by the way. On a positive note it’s clear as [censored] day Lachie Hunter makes us better and it’s good to see footy’s most likeable man Big Bad Bustling Benny Brown turning the clock back to 2018. Take the fake margin and move on. We will be right.
