  1. I like the Kolt but Billings was better than him the other night.
  2. I thought Tholstrup was fine in his first game and I think he will be a real player, just had to find someone for Kozzy. I guess you could drop Billings, but realistically he was better than Tholstrup.
  3. I'm hoping we go the following for the team: Outs: Salem, Brown & Tholstrup Ins: Fullarton, Hunter & Pickett B: McVee May Lever HB: Rivers McDonald Howes C: Windsor Viney Langdon HF: ANB Petty Chandler F: Fritsch JVR Pickett R: Gawn Oliver Petracca Int: Fullarton Sparrow Billings Hunter Sub: Woewodin Hunter, Langdon and Windsor to rotate between wing and half back to cover Salem. Fullarton to play back up ruck and JVR to play 100% forward and use as ruck in the forward line (Fullarton & Gawn to play a kick behind play).
  4. No I don't believe so. That's why I've suggested they should just run with a panel who makes the decisions, no tribunal or anything. Once they make a decision it's final. The AFL can do what they want, it's their competition though I'm sure there are certain things built into their constitution or whatever they call it. The tribunal an antiquated system that goes back years to the time where there was no TV, so the people who witnessed things had to sit down and argue the facts. We have cameras now on every instance so I don't understand why it is needed.
  5. Would jump at him in a heartbeat. Would be fantastic as a roaming CHF similar to Jeremy Cameron. I really hope we go hard in trade and free agency this year to bring in some ready made players. After bringing in Windsor, Kolt and Brown last year and Jeffo, Adams & Verrall last year we've got a decent amount of kids for a side contending. Throw in Rivers, Pickett, Bowey, JVR, McVee, Howes, Woey, Turner & Sestan that is a heap of youth. I realise we don't have a real top line mid in that group other than Windsor, I think the time is now to really go hard. Can't waste our time with Trac, Viney and Oliver....
  6. I do wonder if rucking results in JVR being spent by the time he moves into the forward line, causing him to struggle to maximise his marking etc as a forward. I am personally keen to see Fullarton come in for Brown as the ruck/forward and leave JVR at CHF for the Richmond game. I think Petty we just have to persist with as he gains fitness throughout the year.
  7. So many people also blaming Lever for it, wow. He was picked up and thrown backwards and a tackle like that would be a sin bin in the NRL. I do think he put a bit of mayo at the end, but doesn't change the fact the tackle was dangerous. Also, trying to use the weight difference as an excuse, Jack Viney has been on record saying his brother can easily take him down and he has him covered by a good 10-20kgs but it doesn't matter if you use your weight correctly.
  8. @binman keen to get your thoughts how much benefit the Lions had from having their bye 3 weeks prior, given their pressure levels were incredible. Based off this we should be in a pretty good physical condition for the Cats and Blues games, which hopefully can see us get wins in both games.
  9. Yep I'd say he definitely would've got one. Christian's excuse for why he didn't get a suspension is a joke.
  10. In regards to the real or perceived perception that the MRO does its best to protect the top players/brownlow chances, I think there is a pretty simple change that could be made. They should only ban players from winning the brownlow if they are sent direct to the tribunal. Given how easy it is to be suspended these days, you could be slightly off on your attack on the ball and cop a week suspension. Suspensions previously were for acts off the ball or hitting a bloke late, whereas now you can be a millisecond off and get a suspension.
  11. Butters is not a dirty player and I admire his attack on the ball, but players and supporters need to realise the game has shifted. How the AFL can condone that type of attack on the ball, which was a whisker from ending in a bad concussion to Banfield is a joke.
  12. Yep I was 100% spot on here. Another weekend of inconsistency given the Butters/Crouch incidents over the weekend and also remembering Hunter's from last year. Michael Christian just has to go. Butters act was 10 times more dangerous than Hunter from last year and yet he got nothing and Hunter got a week.
  13. I know we usually play one short at the stoppage and a spare behind play, that seemed to kill us last night. I do wonder if they should be changing that up against certain sides like Brisbane and Carlton who are really strong in a stoppage scenario.
  14. I think we need to go for one of Macrae or McLuggage if we really want to go to the next level. Both are very smart midfielders, which is probably one thing we are lacking (no disrespect to Vines, Trac and Oliver). Those guys are more explosive players and one of those two would complement them nicely.
  15. Think he's a troll spouting garbage. Would love the mods to kick people like this off....
  16. So we are implementing a new game plan, haven't quite got it going yet but are 4-1? Sounds great to me.
  17. Is it time to push for the brother/brother rule?
  18. Apparently Bailey is under an injury cloud as well.
  19. I believe he also had both hips operated on around the time he was drafted and that resulted in him losing a bit of speed.
  20. Kolt is also more a like for like replacement for Kozzy, where Woey isn't
  21. I think he does. He is actually quite similar in size to what Rozee was in his first season.
  22. This is the major issue and the reason so many fans are frustrated, myself included. There is no consistency to the MRO or the tribunal findings and also the way the media and the AFL questioning is from case to case. 7 months ago Maynard performed one of the more dangerous acts I've seen on a footy field, which resulted in a player retiring and gets nothing. Pretty sure there were still rules around showing a duty of care at that time, so not sure why it wasn't applied in that case. We now find ourselves where an incidental contact, while dumb from Kozzy it wasn't a dirty act and was made with very little force gets a 1 week suspension. In the same weekend Fogarty runs straight at Fyfe and launches himself at him with a clenched fist, misses the ball by a mile and punches him in the throat. This is assessed the same as a glancing blow from Kozzy. Then last week Rivers tackles Rozee, who throws himself to the ground (arms free) and the MRO issue a fine. The next weekend Toby Greene dumps Mac Andrew into the turf and it's nothing to see because - his arm was free. WTF is wrong with this competition and their adjudication. The MRO needs to be a panel of people, not one bloke who has shown himself to be inept. I would also be comfortable if the AFL said, he will have a 3 man panel deciding each incident and there's no tribunal option, their decision is final. It's the AFL's competition they can suspend anyone they want, why does there have to be tribunal involved if they have a panel who can discuss and make decisions.
  23. If you just looked at that photo and nothing else you would think it's worth 3 weeks, but a photo doesn't tell the whole story and just captures a split second. If you watch the video in real time he goes to smother the ball and then clips him very lightly, which you can't tell from a photo. The media have been running with that photo because it suits their narrative.
