  1. Is there anywhere we can listen to this?
  2. Not to mention the Dogs had a week off to refresh, which has never happened in the history of GFs. A lot of the commentary prior was that the bye before GF would suit Bulldogs, as they had played more games and wuld be match hardened. Now because they had to play one extra game with some travel, because they lost the right to home finals, they were hard done by. The same could be said for clubs in 2016 who had to play the dogs after the bye helped them actually win a flag. End of the day the best side won, and by a fair margin.
  3. Gold Coast are a complete rabble.
  4. I don't think twilight is the correct term. Gawn and May will be 30 next year and you would expect will play high level footy until 33. Brown and TMac are 29 and similar to the above. So based on that we have 3-4 years of solid footy ahead for those 4. Also good to remember that with free agency we can easily go out in 3 years time and offer a contract to a good key forward around 25-26 years old and top up that way. I'm not saying we shouldn't draft good kids if they are available as a key position, just I don't think it's worth worrying about. When you are in the window you've got to go for it and hopefully we can get another 1 or 2 flags with this team.
  5. No reason he can't work on his game to go to another level and solidify a spot.
  6. Interesting they use the word 'challenging'.... couldn't be Essendon? 😜
  7. Mine is the Fritsch goal. He seemed to float through the air, knee'd Wood in the head and almost took the mark (Gawny ruined it). He then landed like a cat and dribbled a massive goal. He got the crowd up and about and I think it was potentially the loudest roar of the night (wasn't there so can't confirm).
  8. I don't think King would have been in our plans at this stage. Our major salary will go to players like Trac, Oliver, Salem & Jacko soon. TBH I prefer Jacko to the King brothers.
  9. Good to know! Sounds like he absolutely loves the club now. Hopefully he signs an extra 2 year extension and then after that it will be his pay day.... I also saw on his Insta he is back training with the PT he did last year who helped transform his body. Will be great to see how he comes back day one of pre season! Will probably be an absolute beast. Gawn will have to play second fiddle....
  10. We need good depth over the next 2,3 and 4 years to continue to challenge. It also means Jordon and Sparrow have to keep pushing themselves to get better. Competition for spots is what will help us win multiple flags.
  11. I'd be very happy to add Dunstan to our midfield mix. Important we have sufficient depth through there in case of injury. No world beater, but would be free and doubt he would cost much salary wise.
  12. Which has been better so far?
  13. Is he going to the Eagles or Dockers? This may bode well for Jacko as I doubt the WA sides would go after English if they thought Jackson was available....
  14. LOL. Given how well he selected players while at Carlton and GWS I'm not taking anything SOS says about player talent seriously. Take the captaincy off Gawn? WTF are these guys on about?
  15. Mine - You F'ing Beauty
  16. Ironic that his old side are the ones who need to fix a soft culture.... actually a soft culture is probably not strong enough words to represent their culture.
  17. Just ordered a framed picture of the boys with the cup signed by Maxy and Trac. Cannot wait for this to turn up so I can stare at it for hours.
  18. The sad thing for Mac Andrew is we would be the perfect club for him to come and develop under. He would learn off Maxy and Jacko and be ready to step up in 3-4 years.
  19. If you go back to 2016 he said almost identical things about the Tigers and I'd recommend you all try find this and have a read. It is actually now a good thing for Buckenara to not rate you, as you will likely win the flag the next year. He is honestly a complete joke of a list analyst and has no clue.
  20. My view on this off-season is there is no position we are in need of, however depth is going to be very important over the next 2-3 years. I am not really sold on trading for Cerra, as I think our midfield group of Oliver, Petracca, Viney, Brayshaw, Langdon, Sparrow & Jordon is as good as any going around. It will also potentially make it harder to keep Jackson, Pickett and Rivers if our cap is taken up and they are just as important to our side as bringing in Cerra would be. I think we need to go and find a few 28-30 year olds who are willing to take a pay cut to come chase a flag. Will allow us to manage our salary cap, while also building strong depth in the event of an injury to key players. The draft we should be taking best available at all picks and I'd like to see us find a solid back up ruck option.
  21. I'm finally on! I kept struggling to login over the last month, but have now finally rememerbed my password! What an amazing feeling it was to witness the greatest 50 minutes of football, not only of Demons history but potentially the greatest 50 minutes ever played by a side. It still feels a little surreal, but I am just so happy to have witnessed a premiership, even though I was stuck in my house! Ordered my first bit of memorabilia today..... my bank account will be in strife over the next month or two.
  22. Thought Viney's attitude looked poor all day tbh. Gave Harmes a spray when he went for the torp on the half time siren, but in the first quarter he completely burnt Trac.
  23. Good thing we used a heap of picks the last few years..... I don't think draft picks are that important to us at the moment. We need to continue to bolster our list with ready made players and add to the depth to have multiple cracks at the flag.
  24. That area has been booming though, so probably won't be a massive difference soon. I'm pretty sure Barwon Heads area went up 20-30% in the last 12 months.
  25. There are measures in place now though. The team must then take the player nominated with their next pick based on the points system, less a discount I believe of 25%. It is much fairer than the old system that saw Geelong pick up blokes like Hawkins, Scarlett and Ablett with picks in the 40's and 50's. Every team has benefited at different times with the F/S rule, remember getting Viney with a pick in the 20's? I love the F/S rule and want it to continue as it is what makes our game unique. Not a huge fan of the acadmies though, however I do see the purpose in not football states like Queensland and NSW.
