The Next CEO
I took it that the interviewer misunderstood the situation rather than giving a drive by.

The Next CEO
To everyone questioning the start date, I think it should be seen as a positive. Do we want to be employing a CEO who can just jump straight into this type of role? That would mean he is either currently unemployed, or is in a lower role and doesn't have a long exit time required. I imagine with his current employment contract as CEO there is an extended timeframe that he must give when resigning from his CEO position. This is fairly standard for that type of role, given it is highly specialised and important to an organisation, so as to give them time to plan for his exit.

He got one last week.

The Next CEO
A lot of posters were sick of the Old Melbourne boys club.... well we've well and truly gone away from that. Could be a really good move to get someone who has operated outside of the football world so to speak. He may be able to bring some fresh new ideas and business connections, which is more important for the CEO role than knowing how to play football.

TRAINING: Monday 28th April 2025
I watched the whole VFL game on the weekend and I thought he looked very solid as a key defender. There's definitely something to work with. Atm Jed Adams is ahead of him, but that is expected given he's a bit older and hasn't had the same health issues recently.

I haven't received a call yet.... imagine it's coming though.

POSTGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
He brought incredible energy early and set the tone. He is going to be a 'glue' guy who brings it all together. Made a huge difference without having many touches.

God I love Langford... He is so smooth and deadly on that left. Once he believes he belongs he will just rip games apart.

Tom Fullarton
I think Fritsch has been much better the last two weeks and at least kicked 2 goals against the Bombers. Given we need as many people kicking goals as we can I'd be leaving him in. Personally I'd like to see a starting forward line this week of: HF: Pickett Jefferson Langford F: Fritsch Fullarton Melksham Int: Spargo I'd also like to see Tholstrup replace Spargo, but he probably needs a week in the magoos.

Tom Fullarton
Atm JVR is not ahead on form and neither is AJ. Jeffo was solid in his first game and I'm keen for him to play a good 5-6 week block at a minimum. Turner I feel like could be better off going back again and playing the Lever role. The thing he offers which none of the others do is he is 200cm and has that extra reach.

Tom Fullarton
He's not the answer, but if we want to be a serious football club we need to be rewarding form at selection rather than playing favourites every week.

Agree with this. He's also been outside the AFL industry for a while, so probably has different perspectives he can bring.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
So that is on the coaches to continue to drill it in, or drop players not adhering to team plans. I guess it's hard to drop 23 players.... but they need to change something up in that forward line!

He played as a back at junior level. I'm sure they will stick with him forward, just debating whether they could make the move.

Kozzy Homesick & Wants to Leave?
Kozzy will also have to consideration to where he wants to play the majority of his footy position wise. If he goes to Freo he won't be getting any midfield time you wouldn't think and also their salary cap will be stacked very soon. If he stays with us he will get a very nice pay day and will also likely be one of our main midfield options moving forward.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
I agree with that.

It's really just to move JVR back for a while to get some confidence back.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
I'm happy with Jeffo over Petty or Fullars as well, just don't want him to be thrown forward with little support. I'm confident he will be a good forward for us though.

It's hard Yakka atm Deever! No judgement from me... doubt I'll be there Saturday given I fly to Phillipines Saturday night!

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
I'd prefer Petty there over TMac personally. He actually had an impact after half time when he went down there and kicked a goal. Last year he was still recovering from his foot injury which I think impacted him badly.

PREGAME: Rd 06 vs Fremantle
Fullarton just has to play this weekend. I know he isn't anything special, but we are crying out for a 200cm forward who can at least bring the ball to ground! I also think if we aren't going to drop JVR, throw him back for a while as a bit of education playing on other key forwards and keep Petty forward. B: Bowey May van Rooyen HB: Salem McDonald Lindsay C: Windsor Oliver Langdon HF: Chandler Petty Pickett F: Fristch Fullarton Viney R: Gawn Petracca Rivers Int: Langford Sparrow Spargo Melksham Sub: Tholstrup Ins: Fullarton & Tholstrup Outs: Henderson & Sharp

Trade Targets
I have full confidence Lindsay will be an A grader, same with Langford and Windsor. Not as sure on Tholstrup, but he seems to be one of those outstanding personalities that all clubs need like an Angus Brayshaw. At least we didn't trade our future first for Houston, I reckon that was on the cards until he walked away from us!
