I think the other thing to consider is the club probably knew Trac and Oliver were likely moving on, so to try keep some mature players in the side they offered the longer deal. I don’t think his salary in the later years will be that high, so won’t hamstring us in getting better like the Oliver contract would’ve.

Dazzle he’s been in the job 4-5 months, what were you expecting he would achieve in that time? The major thing he needed to ensure was sponsorship for the 2026 season, which seems it is sorted. We can’t be putting the home base issues on his shoulders yet, he would’ve spent the first couple of months getting around that and heaps of other things to do with the role. I’m all for holding people accountable and critically analysing their job, but he needs at least 12 months in the role before we can actually make judgements on his success as CEO.

Pretty sure they are all on managed loads, so I don’t think anything too worrying. I’d imagine all will play some time in the practice matches.

True. Well this is somewhere Steve Smith can help the club. If we can convert all of these MCC to Melbourne members then I’d love to know what our total number comes in at.

Well we also lost Petracca and Oliver, who outside of Viney were our other two main midfielders. So we had to get some sort of leadership/depth to cover that.

I’d love to know how many members we are missing through this. From my understanding, an AFL member chooses their club alignment at no extra cost.
