SPC replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
He and Frost can play in the same backline as Lever and May.. Oscar is the odd man out -

Anyone has a spare one, I would be happy if you could share? -
I actually thought he was okay. Seemed to have a bit more break away pace
-
Umps played a small role in it, our goal kicking and connection inside 50 still the key decider in the result. Encouraging, but frustrating
-
Lost patience with Petracca.. bring in anyone from the VFL please
-
Not at all confident.. Hoping for a close, entertaining Friday night game. Wish both Baker and Petty have strong games and stake claims to hold their spot.
-
Any whispers or inside word on who might come in this week? Preuss is a lock, given Gawn was smacked last time around. I feel Gawn will spend a large chunk of the game at FF. Anyone else interesting?
-
Sounds clear as mud.. Suspecting 4-6
-
One thing about Oliver and Brayshaw and Petracca, is how slow they are to get the ball onto their boot. Salem on the other hand is lightning quick from when he see's a target to when he has disposed of the ball. This is critical as well as with Oliver you can see in advance what he is doing and defenders adjust.
-
So.. is Sam out for a while?
-
This kick it long is obviously a directive from the coaches.. Needs to change, our forward structure has looked poor all year as they lead to the top of the square most of the time. Need a forward coach who has forward craft!!!
-
Thought I saw the writing on the wall late last year, but he has come good. It is the second coming..
-
I am sorry Nathan.. I had written you off and you put egg on my face the last month.. Sorry Nathan, I will not doubt you again... Sincerely SPC.

Gil orchestrated this nicely. Didn't like the backlash from Ablett receiving a lighter sentence at the tribunal- so told the MRP not to charge him this time. Bloke makes head contact from a fair bump and gets a week- Make sense.
-
Would be a SOP for a short turnaround. I suspect he may be chance still.
-
Hi Old Dee, thanks for the reply. Agree 100% about Wagner- he is a good honest footballer, but probably a little way of AFL level.
-
I agree, but think we need a 2nd ruckman and don't like the idea of TMAC, Preuss and another tall in Smith up forward. Going small has served us well so far.
-
Hi to those who watched the game. 1 question- do we have any small defenders who could come in this week? Where has Sparrow played? Cory Wagner?
-
Would love to see him in the midfield next year.
-
I think we will lose 3 through injury and I feel we might be best to swap out Keilty. In: Pruess, ANB, Corey Wagner, Sparrow. Out: Lewis, Hibberd, Keilty, Melksham - Fritsch will need to stay as a backman for this week. Our back stocks are depleted, but we still have the 2 key talls, plus Hore and Wagner, Salem and Fritsch. At least we will add a little more leg speed. - Forwardline we will bring in Preuss and ANB. - Forward/Mid- Wagner and Sparrow for a little rotation and depth.
-
My money is on a slow inside mid with average footskills to complement the plethora we have already.
-
Not keen on the Viney inclusion- Side much more balanced with ANB. Still scratch my head at the selection committees direction. Anyway, time will tell. Sporting Globe Ballarat for the game.. Go Dees!!

Sam Newman for me was the killer. Clearly didn't actually watch football, but had a opinion on everything. Weird relaunch with the latest line-up that didn't hit the mark. Like most haven't really followed the show since teams were named during the news. Good show during its popular days and that it is how it should be remembered.

Would have been good to have someone with a bit of grunt to dig the heals in and demand a better deal. Weak off the field and on it unfortunately.
