  1. Adam Simpson spoke the most sense on this topic. You donโ€™t want a coach that needs to be convinced to join your club (Longmire). You want someone who is dog hungry to prove themselves. Clarkson and to a degree Lyon needed convincing and ultimately it was the coin that got them over the line. Coaching is a tough gig, you need the desire to do the role justice
  2. Danny Daly might be the Steven Bradbury of the coaching search.
  3. Straight to the big club, make it disappear file..
  4. SPC replied to Romey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Can we just get an agreement from the MCC and AFL that we can train at the MCG 2 days a week till Caulfield is handed over.. Fixed!!
  5. Yes I agree with most points. Just like to highlight how good it was to see Windsor in the middle and gaining confidence in the final quarter. I think the next 3 games we should have a good look at what the starting centre bounce line up could be for round 1 next year. Lindsay, Langford, Rivers, Bowey, Chandler, Culley and McVee should all be looked at.
  6. Hard to know the right call. Trac rightfully so, is not a bash n crash player anymore. Saw him opt out of 2 aerial contests on the weekend. He is a professional and trains hard. His kicking is awful.. probably see him more a forward than a pure midfielder these days Oliver appears to pick and choose when he puts effort in. His kicking is awful, but as a pure extractor- he could recapture form. Most likely elsewhere. Could see both leaving and doing well elsewhere, not sure we will see the best of them at Melbourne. So it comes down to what are you willing to get back for them. Goody loves the status quo and the past, so while he is here, it will be tough to see hard calls. Lever is a good one to trade out. If we get something back, then Iโ€™d be keen. Howes and Turner appear to cover him already.
  7. Have we extended Goodwin after his coaching masterclass on the weekend? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคฎ
  8. Our midfield and coaching strategy should be able to turn this poor bloke into a spud
  9. This is a great idea. Huge number of passionate members, a cross section that I would say provide good representation of what is a โ€˜typicalโ€™ dees supporter. Club would be nuts not to take feedback if indeed they aim to improve.
  10. Yes I get the surveys. Not very hard hitting.
  11. Honest answer I couldnโ€™t care less if we win another game this year. Wonโ€™t be watching either way. We are spineless and incapable of making tough decisions. We are still lapping up the flag season and have not moved forward. I know that the club will not get another dollar out of me while Goodwin, Richardson and co are there.
  12. Can we have an MFC surveyโ€ฆ? Clubs a joke, coach is a jokeโ€ฆ
  13. I feel even more validated that he is not the guy to lead us next year. All this talk about progress and transition is just smoke and mirrors. He hasnโ€™t been able to address the key issues, being connection, scoring and stopping other teams momentum for 2 years now. He says we are not the same group, but yes in fact we more or less areโ€ฆ. He is excited about the progress, but with the exception of Turner, Bowey and Koz- all our young players from 2+ years ago are going backwards.
  14. I do love that we have adopted player lead training. Might try it work. Rock up late, kick a few soccer balls. Work the first 3/4 of each day and then pull up stumps. Sounds high performance to me
  15. โ€œHey Siri, what is the most Melbourne FC thing to do with a head coach that is not performing?โ€
  16. Soโ€ฆ. Any word on when we might be getting another senior coach?
  17. The AFL will announce that if West Coast canโ€™t keep the loss below 60 points they will be awarded a priority pick. This will be a blow out for sure. Melbourne players will again begin to think that their ๐Ÿ’ฉ doesnโ€™t stink!
  18. I know that it goes against Melbourne Supporter etiquette, but I would consider the 1.5 hour trip up the Western Highway to deliver my own findings on my own club wide review, direct to coach and players.
  19. Goodwin has backed himself into a corner as he has never made tough selection calls. He plays his favourite players, so players are allowed to be poor with no repercussions. Players are performing well below their best and they are a big part of the problem, but this problem was created by Goodwin. He is the disease that has spread. No fringe player is willing to push their case for selection as they are overlooked, senior players feel untouchable and have a severe case of arrogance. All coach enabled, harnessed and overlooked.
  20. Longmire is our man. I would think a 3 year deal similar to Roos to transform the culture and curate the list.
  21. So what time is the press conference this morning?
  22. You donโ€™t fit from kicking soccer balls round. The culture review at the end of last year, showed that players wanted more control over the program, Iโ€™d say next year they have Zero input. โ€˜ Do the job you are paid well to do!!โ€™
  23. Simon is disappointed and wants a response
  24. Judd McPanicMerchant
  25. 186 and now today. Iโ€™m not signing up next year unless the coaches and Richo are sacked. I have footy these days and have lost all passion for the club
