We might want to wait until the league actually begins. Its hard to be excited by something that hasn't even started. I am keen to see Daisy strut her stuff, she very highly rated by her peers
  2. Ive heard his name pronounced 'Hibbaard', I would have assumed the phonetic Hibberd would be correct? tackling the big issues now.
  3. pick 29 and a pick upgrade is a good result IMO.
  4. thought that was the Hawks list manager during the Lewis trade for a second

Lova ya Grimesy - all the best for the future. if he doesn't get on a list, I'd love to see him signed on a development coach or at least to help with training and standards. no-one did more to get the most out of themselves

God bless you Roosey. when you see that you realise how far he has taken us

yeah we get 'em too, Hunt, Wagner etc. I just reckon, on his merits he had a good year and should be rewarded for working his ar$e off and playing pretty well

I reckon Matt Jones deserves a 1-yr deal. if it wasnt for injury he would have played most games. he is reliable in what he provides and is a good runner. if we want to be in finals we need guys like him as depth/on the fringes rather than always being the youngest team

Salem, Brayshaw, JT, Melksham, Hibberd, JKH, Weiderman, ANB, Hullet, are all players that barely played this year that should make a difference next year (some more than others obviously) Add the improvement of Oliver and Petracca in particular and I'm bullish about our prospects of finals next year. this is not including others we might trade in. Its not like we lost the 1st round pick, we cleverly traded it to get Oliver and Weeds in a stroke of genius
  11. Love it. if someone is in doubt of coming to the club, have a beer with Bernie and the choice is easy
  12. agree, he is progressing very well. When he came on the scene last year with that frame I thought no games in first year then maybe a handful in year two but he has done very well. He is so professional with training and preparation and is a great addition to the team will never be the Star player but will hopefully be very important with some much needed run and spread and tidy skills.

Fyfe would be good depth for our midfield. im not agianst it
  14. is it correct that our ave games round 10 was 30 and last week it was 64. big jump? or maybe im wrong
  15. does anyone think Viney will get off? the first two punches I reckon were insifficient force for a suspension but the third is low impact id think. hard to see him avoid a week.
  16. he was great last year but this year he is at 52%. even Gawny is higher than that! Dead-eye Wattsy is at 73% which is remarkable
  17. I don't think a Ba-Zillion Dollar deal until the turn of the century is out of the question
  18. He was the main positive out of today. 9 contested possessions, showed he can take a mark and most importantly looks so comfortable at afl level on the ball or smashing someone is a tackle. If he stays fit he will play 15 games plus. Wont be long til he has the best handball in the team
  19. what a joke. Oliver didnt pin his arms. the bloke went to kick the ball like an overhead kick type motion, so he was moving that way and off balance. hope the senior players pay the fine for him. he would barely have gotten a pay cheque yet!
  20. scully said as much the year he left. words mean nothing Hogan cant predict the future so doesnt want to say something he might regret even if he is 99% sure. fair enough i reckon
  21. the headlines in the papers are a disgrace. NEVER before has a player with 2 year left on a contract had the headline: "talks put off til the end of season". that phrase always refers to a player having one season left on their contract. the casual observer (idiot) that doesnt read the article will look at that and say - oh Hogan is gone. just puts pressure on hogan and is negative publicity for the Dees. The media always kicks clubs when they are down (aside from the bombers). when we win a few they'll be the first to jump on the bandwagon saying we will make the top 4. such lazy, biased journalism
  22. One thing is for sure, it's officially time to panic!!

All we can do is hope Toumpas turns it around and becomes the better player
  24. im wondering if it more the trend of inside, strongly built mids being a safer bet with a high pick. Guys like Toump, O'rourke, Aish that are elite users of the ball and that killed it in the juniors just dont seem to have as good as strike rate as the more inside bigger guys - Brayshaw, Wines etc. not saying it is that cut and dry but it may be a trend. all about risk and reward I guess. we would have argued in 2012 that Wines will have a impact straight away but his ceiling is not very high. but these days you dont need too many elites users of the ball - once you can kick well, its all about the stoppages

The under18 Talent dude was on SEN this morning - he is also affiliated with the geelong falcons. sorry didnt hear his name or title properly as my 2 yo was yelling nonsense (takes after his old man) he was a massive wrap for Parish. paraphrasing: most complete midfielder, will go in top 5. likened him to Joel Selwood! and this is not a he might turn out like selwood - he said that at the same age they are very similar. Andy M asked about the knocks on him not being as super competative as Selwood and he said Parish is a country boy and is hard at it and driven to succeed. he mentioned, curnow and mathison as well and was positive but not nearly as glowing as for Parish by the end of it I was pretty keen on parish!
