  1. I think Vince goes around again. we don't have a lot of good ball users down back.
  2. I like Dom. He is 25 and a very good inside player. if oliver went down we would badly need him. i hope he can get his confidence back and learn to play wing well
  3. Well I'm glad we've cleared all this up ? I am now in the "we need to win 2 games to make finals" camp. so I will not be celebrating too hard on Sunday night even if us and the Hawks win. although I will get pretty drunk id say, but a more reasoned, respectable drunk
  4. Sydney missing: Grundy, Melican, Mills, Naismith and Reid. We should be able to test their defence. Our midfield is in better form that theirs. Their fwd line looks dangerous with 2 talls and 4 smalls. If Buddy is on and Papley etc get out the back we could be in trouble. In summary, if our (team) defence holds up like it has been I think we win.
  5. ah I finally convinced you! ? best bet is we win by 30 plus which I think we can do and hopefully the hawks win by a bit but not likely
  6. Can we please double team him? we never seem to do this. they only have one real threat so surely we can do it Let's hope Buddy gets the injection in his heel he got 2 weeks ago and not the one he got last week!
  7. crazy odds, dont they read the papers? I thought we couldn't win against a team in the 8? we are paying on $3.40 to win by 40pts+ I am surprisingly confident though. we are in good form - 3 wins out of 4 and the only loss is the geelong one
  8. Geelong will then finish on 14 win. North should finish on 14 and Hawks should win the other 2 which equals 14 wins. end result - we finish 9th
  9. can be hard to do damage if you don't make it though
  10. If Gawn doesnt get up for the game we would be crazy to make the change tonight in the lne ups. Sydney will do most of their planning around him and Oliver. Late change 2pm sunday and bring Peedo in if needed
  11. the irony is if we lost to the crows twice and north they would now be in the 8 and they would be 3 more games we lost to top 8 teams! haha surely some people understand in a close season if you beat teams, they are less likely to be above you. pretty sure Confusious said that, or maybe Robbo
  12. no way you train the day before a game. sounds like a fitness test to me. Gawn in particular needs fresh legs to run out a game. light jogging and a couple of run throughs will be it you'd reckon
  13. Gees it would be nice if we could make the finals one year before worrying about tapering off. Surely we did not compromise mid year games with heavy training to be fresh in September?? it would be nice to have some excuse for that St Kilda debacle though
  14. 11goals 8 behinds 3 out of bounds 23 kicks zero handballs not a bad day out!!
  15. Of course I don't want to rely on those team but if Geelong win there is a pretty likely scenario where you need 14 wins to make the 8. so if games go roughly to script, we have a better chance of making the 8 if the Hawks win (in my tiny brain at least)
  16. If Geelong beat Hawks I have the Dees missing if we only beat Sydney. Cats, Roos, Hawks, Pies on 14 wins If Hawks win I have us 8th edging out the Cats on % (which would be so sweet) by 4% - Cats win last 2 by 64pts. if they win 100pts each we would swap places In summary = unless there are upsets, WE REALLY NEED 2 WINS to be safe
  17. hahaha thanks for sharing mate! change your undies and move on :-)
  18. i know but Geelong would be below us so we'd make the 8. *unless cats win by 100pts + both last games
  19. thanks mate. I still reckon Geelong wont make the % up though. they 118% for a reason, not much fire power
  20. Hunt for Smith Pedo for Gawn (if unfit) please do not play Gawn if he is at risk. we can win without him. Oliver could read a ruckman with Parkinsons
  21. what was his disposal efficiency? ?
  22. My brain hurts trying to figure out whats best so can someone smart confirm if the Hawks beat Geelong and we beat Sydney, are we 99% in the finals barring crazy % changes? my understanding is we don't want Geelong to win as then there is a greater chance of there been many teams on 14 wins and we could miss out on 13 wins even with %
  23. North no. 4. mental image of Ben Brown wildly flapping his arms around. someone touched me! contact Goal Attack!
  24. there is some game style involved for sure but I think it is mostly down to skill and technical ability to kick accurately. So many teams do not value straight kicking and recruit poor kicks, which is insane as it often decides games. The pies are another one that do not recruit good kicks for goal. they would have won many more games over the years if they did
  25. It's hard not to get excited when you hear Roosey talking us up. You now he wouldn't do it if he didnt really believe it and who would know better? The top analysis is rubbish, the 8 changes each week. make it a contender list of top 11 teams and we've done alright
