Probably sounds like a load of [censored] but I spoke with a father of a current player during the week who said the club and players were happy with ten wins and didn't care about making finals this year and were all about preparing for next season. Not sure if I buy into this but apparently it's what the player told his old man. I think the cue has been in the rack for the last couple of weeks.

I don't care about the loss, all I feel is embarrassment for Roos.

One positive to come out of a game like this is that Demonland really comes to together and there's no bickering.

We can't delist every player who has failed to cement a spot in the starting 22. Trenners was a former number 2 draft pick who was very good at the beginning of his career. He's coming off an injury that may have been career ending and had little to no pre-season. Giving Trenners another full pre-season and the opportunity to build his tank, get some confidence in his foot and hopefully pick up some speed is fantastic, the upside if it works out far outweighs any downside.

He's contracted until the end of next season.

Shulz, Petrie, Firrito, Harvey. [censored] it, let's just recruit them all. Ted Richards is retiring at the end of the season, I reckon he'd boost our playing age as well, Salem and Grimes should get the job done.

We need to boost the overall maturity of our players by getting games into them. Recruiting Harvey will stop this from happening and wont make a difference in the medium (and even short) to long term. Becoming a better team and the sort of team we want to become, which is a competitive team over the long term, is not going to be assisted by recruiting a single mature player. The player age and amount of games played needs to be boosted as a whole over time, again not boosted by a single player. Recruiting Harvey would be the stupidest thing the club would have done in the last three years if it did happen.

Looks like West Coast are going to win one away from Subiaco, crazy times.

It is but GC see him as a star and they won't trade him for less than a first round pick or a top player in return. Suggestions of packaging together players who can't even get a game for us is just being silly.

When fit O'Meara is a gun, when was the last time a club packaged together a number of players who can't even get a game and traded them for a gun player? No club is going to do a deal consisting of receiving in return a good player and 'steak knives.' Some suggestions are embarrassing.

I agree juzz, apparently Hawthorn have been chasing him for quite some time. The fact that he's not going back to his home state and coming down to Victoria, to me, suggests a deal between player and club has been done for some time. Just a matter of Gold Coast agreeing to the trade.
