  1. there is no evidence that vegetarians are weaker than meat eaters. Joe Namath was a very big strong man. Obviously their code of football is different but there's some very big, tough strong men playing it.
  2. The legendary quarterback Joe Namath is probably the most famous vegetarian American football player. Inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1985, he was also one of the best players, period. In his words, "I have been a vegetarian for a few years. Fred Dryer of the Rams has been one for 10 years. It shows you don't need meat to play football." Namath serves as a role model for aspiring gridironers everywhere. Greg Chappell, Dave Scott (ironman), Carl Lewis are also vegetarians.
  3. No he's been worse than that. He's been a turnover king. He can't make quick enough decisions about disposal when in possession of the ball and his kicking is atrocious. How can he be a leader when he can't play football?
  4. We could offer him 750,000 per year. But then he might get depressed playing for the not so mighty Dees, retire, have a miraculous cure and then go and play for Geelong.
  5. We've got a Panasonic DVD player/recorder with a hard drive in it that allows you to record and watch a delayed version at the same time. If you get far enough ahead you can cut out the ads manually.
  6. No. Gawn is not a football player and Jamar will retire this year. We will need to recruit a new ruckman.
  7. If it doesn't matter then nothing matters. Of course it matters. Winning the game when it's close and exciting is important. Having the composure to do the right thing and not the blatantly obviously f'ing stupid dumb thing is important. Practice makes perfect, not worse.
  8. Maybe he was giving Jones, Bail, McKenzie and some others (Gawn and Grimes for example) their last chance in games that don't count. Hopefully they've shown they need to be in the VFL and delisted at year's end.
  9. Looks like MFC bottom 4 this year again!
  10. We'll lose by 36 points. " Nice try Dees" will be the call from the MCC members as the players trudge off.
  11. I disagree. He's right. Viney is too small to play the bullocking game he is trying to play. He is vastly overrated by many mfc supporters because of our memory of Todd. So far (especially in 2014) he hasn't lived up to the hype.
  12. Can't kickCan't run Can't mark Can't tap out in ruck to an mfc player Essentially an uncoordinated giraffe Nice guy but not a footballer.
  13. Delist Or trade Gawn NOW. I don't care if we have to pay out his contract.
  14. Too often opposition players who are tackled by a MFC player are able to effectively pass to another opposition player while they are in the grip of our player. Watch Chris Judd tackle: he grabs the ball or their arms and prevents this from occurring. It's no good putting a player on the ground if they are able to effectively pass it off.
  15. Hogan had two set shot scoring opportunities from the 50metre line but passed both off inside the 50. Is he not capable of kicking the distance?
  16. MFC need to place a crumber behind the pack attempting to mark the incoming high ball in forward contests. The lack of this has cost us hundreds of goals over the past eight years.
  17. it wasn't just an error. This was absolutely basic schoolboy football. DONT KICK ACROSS THE FACE OF THE OPPOSITIION GOAL. Especially when there's 2 minutes left. Slow it down, keep possession.
  18. Viney should have a new anus fashioned by the coach for giving away those two free goals and losing us the game.
