  1. Firstly, that's some serious short term vision here. You're writing off Toumpas based off 1 and a half seasons, and in my opinion, he is has shown enough to prove to me personally that he will become an AFL player. Sam Blease is not very good. Blease is a one way player who cannot find enough to ball and defensive pressure to warrant senior AFL selection. Not to mention, Blease is only good when running, not really at anything else. Stretch is touted as a two way player with a very solid kick. It's all good and well to say we need to draft players like Pendlebury. But that is an empty statement. We will draft players with that level of talent with pick 3 and 4 (assuming Chip leaves) and still manage to get Stretch later on in the draft. I would gladly take him with a second rounder, considering such an impressive Championships, he has earnt it. I advise you to wait 2 more years before commenting on the success of Toumpas and another 4 with Stretch. I rest my case.
  2. We currently have no players who can kick bags of goals (cant count Hogan until he plays and actually does it).. we would be in no place to say no. Adelaide: Walker Collingwood: Cloke Fremantle: Pavlich Geelong: Hawkins Giants: Cameron Hawks: Gunston, Roughead Port: Schulz Richmond: Riewoldt Stkilda: Riewoldt Sydney: Franklin, Tippett WCE: Darling, Lecras, Kennedy There are only a few teams that i didnt name that have quality power forwards and with the exception of Essendon and North (who Petri arguably fits the criteria), none of these teams are top 8. I could put Lynch in for GC, but havent seen enough of him personally to say that. The issue is, we need a forward that can kick big goals, we thought that would be Clark, and we are unlucky it wasnt. Based on the statistics of teams making the 8 without prominent forwards, i do not see Melbourne in any position to turn down a player of Riewoldt's calibre.
  3. The Doggies vs Geelong match has just set a new standard for rubbish umpiring. Not sure if any of you are watching, but this is insipid. The most one sided umpiring in the dogs favour i have ever seen.
  4. I think he looks very very promising. He has played very well in the champs and i from the matches ive watched has all the making to replace Terlich. Run and carry, something we have struggled with. The best comparison is Nick Malceski in my opinion. Can find an opponent, runs the ball out, solid kick. Love his work so far.. cant wait for him to be a demon next year..
  5. No you wouldn't, i bet you'd embrace and learn to love him. In what position are we to say no to a 2 time Coleman medalist? I'd take him in a heartbeat. And yes, i do believe he needs an attitude shift, which we would need to implement.
  6. Basically we need players to replace the 22 that consistently has played this year. Whether they're on our list and just injured (Trengove,Toumpas, Hogan), they still need to be replaced and become back up Terlich: HB flanker Bail: HF, Fpocket Mckenzie: Midfielder Gawn: Forward (he just doesnt cut it at this stage to be playing AFL) Matt Jones is questionable
  7. Yeah, right now. Ofcourse, Judd 3-4 years ago was A++++, like Gaz. I didnt name every A+ in the AFL. so thanks for your contribution. But he is borderline A+ in my opinion.
  8. I think he'd be a great replacement for Frawley. 22 year old who has been All Australian, screams star to me. I saw it on a rumours page about players... i dont take it as credible at all, but no of us actually have any idea who is interested where. So thought i'd just state what i heard.
  9. No, because the nominations are done earlier, therefore we already know if we're using that pick on him or not.
  10. Trengove has played more good games than Viney and Tyson. He deserves to be included. He has just been injured.
  11. He's been great when down back. So played well when in the backline.. I heard that he didnt take the drugs, but if he did, no deal.
  12. i saw something about Melbourne being interested in Carlisle from the bombers. Would love him!
  13. A graders are players like Jones, Tippet, Judd, Beams, Martin. A+ are players like Ablett, Pendles, Swan, Franklin, Watson
  14. hahahahahahaa Jones is an A grader mate. Viney, Trengove, Tmac and Watts should actually be A graders at some point, they're only young.
  15. It's funny, we're all going to have to live with the fact that he never actually looks "happy".. Just cant read into the little emotions
  16. We robbed ourselves in the first half. Umpires dealt the finishing blow.
  17. I think Viney/Tyson will both be very very good players. Same goes for Trengove, Hogan and Salem. But i genuinely think that Toumpas has that class about him, he has more polish than all of those players put together.. All of those 6 could be stars, hopefully 2 or 3 will become the stars we need.
  18. so happy. But he isnt worth $500,000 a year just yet
  19. I'd say 3 midfielders and definitely a KPP forward. We'd have: N Jones, Viney, Tyson, Vince, Cross, Trengove, Salem (future), JKH/Kent (rotating), Mckenzie, Toumpas, Watts (rotating).. I'd say 3 more would really help.. We could move Vince to half back, same with Trengove.
  20. I actually agree. Trengove was my favourite player in 2010 and 2011. I reckon he'll hit way higher than that even next year. He's a freaking gun when on and Roosy will turn him into a champ
