  1. Stereotypical Melbourne supporter here, private school, lodge at Buller traded the Range Rover for a BMW don't mind a good triple brie at the footy, tall, good looking and happy to support the mighty Deeeeees. Do I care what others think about us? No
  2. I listened on my brothers car radio in the front yard, he caught the train to the match, I was too young to go (7) Edit: That can't be right must have been my mothers or fathers car, my brother was only 16. So the car was either a Zephyr or a Borgward, yes that's how long ago our last flag was.
  3. No, nobody there. But I only have one. ˈkrɪptəʊ/
  4. I have had a few goes at ideas to improve free agency. Today's is Top 4 sides must pay 1.5 times the AFL valuation of free agents in draft picks to the side losing the player. Sides 8-5 must pay the AFL valuation in draft picks. Bottom 8 sides pay nothing, the AFL compensate the side losing the player. There must be a cost for top sides and not $. This does not hinder any player going to any club. It puts a realistic cost on the player movement. Would Richmond give up 2 top ten picks to GC for Lynch? How would they get them? They would have to trade out some players. Would top clubs still target the best players of lowly clubs if the had to pay? Make it real AFL make the top clubs pay, and that includes Melbourne. I am sick of free agency destroying all attempts at equalisation.
  5. Leave the gro-lights on a bit longer
  6. Then don't discuss it! Next people will be saying close demonland because we don't like what is said on it. If we want to talk about a subject and we do so respectfully and within the sites rules who are you to rain on the parade?
  7. Bob it was a proposition not a fait accompli. You will note I completed my proposition with a question mark. I hadn't thought it through as it was indicative of the possibilities that having drafts picks offers, it was not a suggestion of an actual trade. I say keep Hogan but if he wants to go then we should explore all possibilities.
  8. rpfc, it is harder to feel superior amongst equals, thank god for idiots.
  9. Bob, you ignore using those draft picks to secure stars at other clubs. Hogan for picks, picks for Kelly & Lynch?

You want answers Tex? Your are a fkwit, the club is shlt the administration is frked and the coach is a real dlk head, oh and I do like a good coffee & croissant on my way to training not a fekkin pie floater
  12. Not predictive text or you would have that's right.
  13. Sorry Wise, "Q1: based on history of genuine AFL quality forwards involved in trades" Was Ablett the senior a quality forward? Was he involved in a trade? Or has Hogan played on the wing on the ball or down back is he still a forward? - Carlton received Lachie Henderson & pick 12 (Fyfe -Carlisle - Talia - Jetta - Gawn all went later) My point is good forwards do get traded, you can win or you can lose but you must keep your mind open to opportunities. Or we can have fun speculating.
  14. A1 - Templeton, Ablett, Lockett, Fevola, Hall, Kennedy, Franklin there are others all involved in trades. Some decent forwards there, all kicked more goals in a season than Hogan. I would argue that the winners were Footscray - Templeton - Geelong Ablett - Evens on Lockett(StKilda got 6 players inc Joel Smith, Wakelin, ) - Carlton Fevola, Hall - StKilda got Heath Black & Nick Dal Santo - WCE Kennedy - Sydney Franklin
  15. But Wise we could swap the picks for Kelly or some other superstar. That is the point don't you think? To have a discussion, talk about the team we love and our mad ideas to make us invincible.
  16. So Wise what is the problem with talking hypotheticals? I put it to you if Freo offered young Brayshaw and this years and next years first pick for Hogan would you take it?
  17. I think you take yourself and this site a bit too seriously. Trade HOGAN is a discussion, if you don't like it you are free to say so, others can continue to comment, most of it rubbish but why close it down? This petulant demand to shut down anything one disagrees with is futile. This is a supporters site, much of that written here is without foundation and merely speculation. To think that the club feels embarrassed by some supporters online rantings is silly. I would not rule out trading any player but it would have to be to our advantage. Trading Hogan or Viney or Oliver seems outrageous but if it meant 5 flags in the next 10 years where do I sign. Lighten up Steve we are in the finals.
  18. If nothing else playing well without Hogan will be good for Hogan. He is not the messiah and may have to rethink his attitude, perhaps he may even choose to chase and tackle and perhaps even try a second effort. I think he will stay but trading him would not be the end of the world.
  19. Another Adel fan? Overweight?

On my keyboard it is an upper case 5. See %5%5. The upper case 1 looks like ! - cool

Is that on Foxtel or Netflix?
  22. Revisionism? As I said he was pretty ordinary until he was 25. Do you disagree? Then two good years at Melbourne then at 27 traded to Brisbane (2013) I liked him & thought we should keep him. I reiterate at King/Filipovic age he was very ordinary, that's not revisionism that's what I thought at the time, that's what I think now..
  23. Steph Martin played his first game as a 22yo and was pretty ordinary until about 25yo now 32yo. Troy Simmons played his first game as a 21yo and was pretty ordinary until about 25yo. King 21yo & Filipovic 20yo, you have to invest time in most talls before you can say they are useless. I didn't think we should have given away Fitzpatrick and kept him purely as insurance until others came on. The other King did not make it. I don't mind a mature age ruckman maybe from the VFL or SANFL but they never get a game
  24. Steph Martin and Troy Simmons were both said to be useless with us.
  25. Like King, Filipovic and (Bradke next year)?
