  1. Not predictive text or you would have that's right.
  2. I think Jetta is fantastic, what he gets out of himself is remarkable. He is not the most gifted player, not fast, not big but I back him one on one versus anyone, his tackles are fantastic. The most gifted, skillful, fastest thinking, fastest hands is Oliver. It is interesting that the umpires have worked out how fast Oliver is and don't ping him for throwing like last year, he has not changed, the umpires have recognised his skill. So in a photo finish Clayton Oliver. Apologies Max the best ruckman in the AFL
  3. Only 23, if healthy worth a rookie
  4. Sorry Wise, "Q1: based on history of genuine AFL quality forwards involved in trades" Was Ablett the senior a quality forward? Was he involved in a trade? Or has Hogan played on the wing on the ball or down back is he still a forward? - Carlton received Lachie Henderson & pick 12 (Fyfe -Carlisle - Talia - Jetta - Gawn all went later) My point is good forwards do get traded, you can win or you can lose but you must keep your mind open to opportunities. Or we can have fun speculating.
  5. A1 - Templeton, Ablett, Lockett, Fevola, Hall, Kennedy, Franklin there are others all involved in trades. Some decent forwards there, all kicked more goals in a season than Hogan. I would argue that the winners were Footscray - Templeton - Geelong Ablett - Evens on Lockett(StKilda got 6 players inc Joel Smith, Wakelin, ) - Carlton Fevola, Hall - StKilda got Heath Black & Nick Dal Santo - WCE Kennedy - Sydney Franklin
  6. But Wise we could swap the picks for Kelly or some other superstar. That is the point don't you think? To have a discussion, talk about the team we love and our mad ideas to make us invincible.
  7. So Wise what is the problem with talking hypotheticals? I put it to you if Freo offered young Brayshaw and this years and next years first pick for Hogan would you take it?
  8. I think you take yourself and this site a bit too seriously. Trade HOGAN is a discussion, if you don't like it you are free to say so, others can continue to comment, most of it rubbish but why close it down? This petulant demand to shut down anything one disagrees with is futile. This is a supporters site, much of that written here is without foundation and merely speculation. To think that the club feels embarrassed by some supporters online rantings is silly. I would not rule out trading any player but it would have to be to our advantage. Trading Hogan or Viney or Oliver seems outrageous but if it meant 5 flags in the next 10 years where do I sign. Lighten up Steve we are in the finals.
  9. If nothing else playing well without Hogan will be good for Hogan. He is not the messiah and may have to rethink his attitude, perhaps he may even choose to chase and tackle and perhaps even try a second effort. I think he will stay but trading him would not be the end of the world.
  10. Free agency is a curse. Top 4 side when recruiting a free agent to pay the same compensation (picks-points) as the AFL pay to the side losing the player. There must be a cost to recruiting a free agent. Bottom 4 sides should not lose a player to a top 4 side (in last 2 years) - Bottom 4 sides can take a free agent with no cost, compensation from the AFL
  11. Go Deeby, I'm with you on this. When we have won 12 premierships since Hawthorns last I will agree with him. NB:- in 1964 Melbourne had won 12 flags - Hawthorn 1 2017 Melbourne 12 - Hawthorn 13 Toughen up hubby, time to look after your kids, go Deeby!
  12. They do a survey! How do they do it, phone calls (landline-mobile), mail, e-mail people in the street, internet poll? What demographics are the people asked? What was the question? Are you a member of a sporting side? If you had to barrack for an AFL side who would it be? What AFL side to you barrack for? Who do you want to win the AFL premiership? Different questions can get different answers. How is the information gathered extrapolated? Do you put the same weight on the interviews conducted outside Richmond station on game day to random phone calls to people in Cairns? Who paid for the survey? What answer did they want? What if Sydney FC was looking for a new sponsor and they paid for it. What if a Gold Coast sponsor paid for it? These things can effect an outcome. Like tobacco companies paying for research into tobacco related illness, or vitamin companies researching efficacy of their own product. Take it with all grain of salt. When I am approached by a research company I always skew my answers to suit an outcome that I choose.
  13. Oscar is 22yo, Wagner 24, Keilty 23. Petty is the only younger key back he is 19 and not ready as we saw earlier in the season. OMac is fine.
  14. On my keyboard it is an upper case 5. See %5%5. The upper case 1 looks like ! - cool
  15. Just had a look, there is heaps on Buller I reckon it will still be there GF day unless we get lots of rain. As for chucking it in I would rather an amputation. The scars that I carry from being a Melbourne supporter since the late 50'S define me. I could have been a well balanced friendly amiable person but instead I support Melbourne. PS I know you are taking the pizz

  17. Thanks Ethan, providing actual stats like that proves it must be true. But seriously can you imagine the AFL keeping anything a secret?
  18. Rigged! Really, what a load of rubbish. Do you really think that the AFL are well enough organised to rig anything?
  19. Yes & no Sue. If he'd had a decent dip he would still be with us. I always thought he was too smart to get hurt.
  20. 6 Gawn 5 Harmes 4 Melksham 3 Brayshaw 2 Oliver 1 Jetta
  21. Ethan, I thought the caring you would drop into casualty to visit the Wet Toast supporters that slashed their wrists. I hope your little one recovers quickly. Go Dees
