Kent, percentage is not just about winning margin. For example in round 1 you could score 3 points and your opponent 1 and you would have a percentage of 300. The next week you could win by 6 goals (72 to 36) and have your percentage drop. You would have a total of 75 for and 37 against roughly 200%. So the margin we require varies depending on how much our opponent scores. Generally speaking keeping an opponent to low scores is beneficial to percentage.
My point Nev is that if the clubs were forced to name teams 3 or 4 days before a match they would be a work of fiction, probably given to the office boy to make up. The real teams would still be decided a day before a match. So fans would be none the wiser.
What difference does it make? If they announce early it will often change. The clubs would prefer not to provide teams at all. I assume same as last week until there's a change. It really makes no difference to the supporter. It is just a list.
Thanks for the report but it was almost useless. Who were the best players? Who did well? Where did Melbourne listed players play and how did each of them play?
Smokey I don't accept the premise of Gawns tap dominance. If Gawn truly was dominant he would tap to advantage. He seems to get his hand on the ball and guides it to the ground or the opposition which is close to useless. Gawn needs to control his taps and punch a few out for variety.
Strawbs was a good player. I think he was better than Stynes. He had mongrel and put the wind up the opposition. He was cruelled by injury. I don't think you can teach mongrel.
Centre ball ups. Midfielders FFS keep moving. Start outside and run in. It is much harder to block or hold multiple moving players. Max hit more outside. Max, please communicate with midfielders, learn to tap behind. Great to win, go dees! We should win more than half of Max's hit outs, if not we need to get a new ruckman or a new midfield.
Billy I am a supporter, I pay my membership and rarely attend. Five hours of driving is disincentive enough even without covid and ticketing dramas. I think you mean barrackers. We certainly lack barrackers. Winning will get the barrackers out, when it happens it will blow your socks off.
Gee who would have thought that the injury sub would be scammed? EVERYONE except the idiots running the AFL. I am staggered at the level of incompetence at the top level of the AFL. They are ruining our game.
Your point was poorly made. In the last 2 years our forward line is crying out for a 40+ goal forward or 2. Tommy Mac & The Weed going down has hurt. I believe Brown & Jackson will help. Hogan leaving was a blessing.
If you had said we haven't found a 50 plus goal forward until Brown then I may agree, but you didn't. Even you could comprehend that since Hogan left his contribution has been worse that Tommy Mac, therefore we haven't missed much.
