watch a buddy franklin game closely. you will see that he works hard off the ball and does do the team things. there was an article floating around about him the other day (circa 2007) which included quotes from the hawthorn recruiting department. they said that he struggled when he played under 18's because he couldnt absolutly dominate like he could at school footy, but they noticed that quickly he started doing things like giving off handballs etc he does a lot on his own, but he will do the team thing aswell. we struggle in that dept. especially when we have 4 guys flying for marks and no one crumbing...

offer him a 5-6 year contract for 120,000 per year. see if he bites. if he takes off its not a big spend, if he fails, its not a big loss...

what we could do is simply combine the red yolk of the mfc jumper, and add the royal blue of the roos. that way it'll be just like the 80's! that'll really get everyone behind the idea.

timmy it would be interesting, and usually id say one of the main differences would be the quality of the taller players. saunter might be good but he is smaller and slower compared to most afl tall forwards. however, with neitz out, and us badly out of form it would be interesting. you would have to think the dees would get up without too much trouble, but it would be an interesting practice match preseason wouldnt it?

out of interest who has control over the mcg scoreboards? home team? or mcg? do mcg run it, and jsut make provision for some info slots?

in all honesty we would prob make a pretty goo strong vfl club atm. 20K members, we would be competitive. we would still need a new home base of course. itd be like nothing had changed

would love too. unfortunately i work on sundays and play rugby saturdays. as it is its hard to balance getting to mfc games. so far ive made them all. have organised to work sunday night shifts for the next 10 weeks so i can get to the mfc games, so its a hard balance. RE garland, i realise he is doing alright at sandy level, but i specifically mean i am happy to give him more time to get ready for afl level. do you get down to sandy regularly? what do you think of col and how do you see his future?

if we could move into the vfl id prefer that. if we move to the GC i'll start following rugby. sorry but while i would like us to win, it wouldnt be the same. i want to go watch every week.

if he got 'destroyed' why did you give him 3 votes? judd is in his own league yes. but that isnt a reason why not to give mclean votes. the issue here is 'who were our best players' not 'how good was judd?'

i would hope that bailey picks the captain not the players. i dont mind an introvert being captain. neitz is rather introverted too. but as long as the player knows when to rev players up and when to fly the flag without being stupid...

i give garland a bit more time because of his background. he wasn't a footballer. he has a lot to learn. i am willing to give him a bit of time, espec because he hasnt been around that long...plenty on the list should go before he does...

BOG? where did he play what did he do? out of interest box hill are on the bottom and winless. sandy are a very strong side. does this mean that good performances today arent as valuable do you think? (aimed at those who saw the game) also arent box hill the hawks affiliated team? interesting that they are on top in the afl while we're on the bottom, but our 2nd tiers are so different...

i would like to see how many free kicks were paid to advantage however. i reckon we had at least 6 maybe 8 or 9 which were paid even tho we had already cleared out possession. it would also be interesting to see the goals from free kicks i suspect about 5 to 1? plus they got one from a 50 (tho they would have kicked it anyway)

i would like to see us play our good KPD on the 2nd line carlton forwards. in effect, let fev do what he wants. let rivers playt rue CHF where he is best, no matter who plays their. riv will drop back and cut a couple off but still if fev kicks 10 and no one else gets any we will be in a good position. similarly i think it would be worth tagging midfielders OTHER than judd. do you think we can stop judd anyway? so lets restrict stevens and co and force judd to do it all on his own. tell brock to line up on judd and to focus on getting his own ball, hopefully brock can get enough going the other way to make judd slightly accountable. they have judd and fevola, no one else is a real danger in the sense that we couldnt stop them, so lets cut off their support so we can focus on working with the ball.

serious? what is he now? like 32? 33? belly has 10 years ahead of him. if we had woey right now, he would be getting paid to play for sandy and would be out with the bathwater at the end of this season when the rest of them retired.

haha highlight of the day... based on what? one game? if he has a good game this week id expect him back up there. he has 18 weeks to get some form back...i think he did pretty well for a kid who wasnt ready, and hopefully he learnt a lot and will apply it...
