  1. telstra dome is a joke. what is the purpose of reducing the capacity to make it a rectangular stadium? no wonder they never put the seats in around the field of play... and how crap a stadium can you get when you design in seats that cannot see the playing field, forget to put in coaches boxes and dont even consider that you need sunlight to get grass to grow...
  2. was a little disappointed, would loved to have seen some of the scoring coming from mfc listed players. but at least they are learning to win somewhere...
  3. well it was obvious to some of us
  4. cheers
  5. so whats the difference between a few and 'quite a few'
  6. wanna post the link here for everyone to have another read if they want?
  7. looking at that list there are 4 who seem to have played enough games to make it count. rodan is an exception because he is older, not your typical pick meaning 3 other players in that list have done alright in terms of games played. hardly 'quite a few'...
  8. haha ive noticed that as well. at least he is getting a lot of publicity for it i cant believe someone at record headquarters hasnt noticed that yet lol its not like he has even been named as an emergency every week either...
  9. i've been saying that for ages... i havnt checked the stats, but i reckon the games when he has been a multiple goal scorer could have been games when neitz has been out...
  10. injured at sandy i thought? Sandringham reports - from BBR
  11. In valenti, buckley, out wheatly, carroll. PJ is in our best 22, but jamar played a good game, PJ now needs to win his spot back. we look a little top heavy down back, especially against adelaide, so i think carol will make way, although it could be warnock. we are however a little short up forward, so perhaps either PJ will come in and play forward, or carroll will stay and garland will swing forward. i suggested buckley in to add some pace to the mid espec with valenti in and wheatly out. might depend on matchups, and i believe we will make as few changes as possible after the win.
  12. these too both wanted to go. we didnt stuff anything up. you cant force players to go if they want to stay. at the time white was by far the better ruckman than either, and they both thought they were the bees knees. jolly isnt much chop and simmonds (IMO) fell into the hall of fame match simply because there are no other ruckmen around atm. yes would be handy right now, but what were we going to do with either for the past 5 years? they didnt want to play 2nd fiddle but wernt good enough for no. 1...
  13. interesting thread to see how far we've come in two preseasons and how big a change it will be once a lot of the older brigade leaves at the end of this year http://demonland.ugbox.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=644
  14. is anyone else worried he was born in the 90's? damn thats scary...
  15. it will stop if people dont get it wrong. 4 wins and a draw wont get us the pick.
  16. 16.5 points. not 18.
  17. i'd buy north before i bought 14 other clubs i reckon, but seriously. atm its prob us or them. and id rather it be them. something has to give, and im all for saving ourselves, because i reckon if they could burn us they would too...
  18. i think the reason the club doesnt give out a scarf one year, a hat the next followed by a beanie, is because if they did that no one would ever buy any other merchandise. the club can give us a scarf every year, for members only. that differentiates us from the non-members. but we should fork out 20 bucks every third year for a new hat and not whinge. we already get entry to all games, voting rights, and other benefits...the scarf or tie etc is icing on the cake...
  19. i think bell has done a reasonable job this year as a defender. he has spoiled reasonably, he has ran hard at contests. he hasnt had the effectiveness going the other way - run with the ball etc. but i think as a pure defender he hasnt been doing too bad. perhaps as a flank or pocket it might be a possibility. but remember, most people on here claim that shuffling positions is ruining players careers. do we really want to shuffle another player?
  20. either your young or stupid. or you were so deliriously drunk on winning a premiership that you didnt care what your players did to win it. i envy you...
  21. very surprised that belly isnt having a run because i thought he could do with ids a rest rather than a run at sandy...is he carrying something? or are there rules about afl players playing this week with no afl match? because none of the mfc listed players named played last week...
  22. not being pessimistic but rarely do you lose consecutively by 100 points, or lose 6 in a row if your any good...
  23. what i liked most about aussie is that he seemed to do genuine crumber things. he dropped off packs to where the ball would fall, he looped around looking for the ball to spill, and he seemed to constatly be running into the right spaces. we havnt had anyone do that for a while imo. even davey was never a genuine crumber, he was a really really quick goal sneak. daveys goals are often based around ball spill and he is faster than everyone. aussie seems to look for the ball off packs.
  24. im not sure if this is correct or backed up by any facts, but i believe miller plays better when neitz is not in the team. miller isnt a great long kick, but when neitz is out he is allowed to drift back closer to goal occasionally where he can snare a couple. even though his game yesterday was still based around the leading CHF role, he had more freedom which adds a second dimension to his game. he is also a better mark when one on one (not much for pack marking) so the lack of neitz up forward means he is more chance of being one out.
  25. yep i heard over 26.
