  1. Goodwin sounds completely bereft of confidence or answers on the radio right now. Just more spin, vague non-answers and empty assurances.
  2. Shame we pushed out Dean Kent. Who needs small forwards anyway?
  3. Lucky we spent two trade periods turfing out our entire forward line while recruiting overpaid key defenders that cost us a fortune in draft currency and can't even get on the park. Sheer brilliance from the geniuses in list management.
  4. Pert and Goodwin need to [censored] off and reinstate some semblance of competence to this club. We're beyond a laughing stock -- we're just utterly irrelevant.
  5. This team is a [censored] embarrassment. Get [censored] Melbourne.
  6. Agreed. 15 behinds to 3 says to me that Brisbane basically dominated the scoring, just weren't accurate. The right team won on the day. And I've read about this BS Ben Brown free kick which is completely unsurprising, considering his habit of playing for free kicks. So as you said, they essentially cancel each other out.
  7. Just imagine how much more exciting that final minute would have been if Brisbane weren't gifted that goal with 1:10 left on the clock. Godawful free kick, one of the worst you'll see all year. Not that I'm unhappy Brisbane won, but it would have been so much sweeter without the blatant umpire interference.
  8. Richo should probably start updating his resume, methinks.
  9. LOL, and the final kick just perfectly surmises this dumpster fire of a season. Are our players actually learning anything?
  10. Hahahahaha. This team is an embarrassment.
  11. Definitely not just Gibbs but I don't believe the others were Carlton affiliated. Put simply, there's just certain groups you don't want your club involved with. Completely unrelated to the whole Bugg situation too, so I think Carlton's current woes are just a result of ... well, Carlton being Carlton.
  12. Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. Off-field issues no club wants to inherit. Adelaide have learned the hard way. They gave up two first rounders in exchange for him + a second rounder. If they could have their time over again, they would.
  13. Feel horrible for Cynthia, my deepest sympathies. No one deserves to be ridiculed on national television, least of all an amputee who has already suffered so much. Just another example of white male privilege in an industry dominated by the elite boys club. Pathetic stuff. As usual it'll be slept under the rug and ultimately ignored, with the instigator ultimately rewarded with a pay rise and bigger exposure.
  14. Late to the party here but apparently we would've done the deal for 5 and 23. What in the hell?! What happened to our price of two first rounders?? Contracted, a generational key forward tracking better than superstar key forwards of the past, plus 5 years of development under his belt. And we were happy with 5 and 23...? In an era where Bryce Gibbs and Adam Treloar are worth two first rounders. Cannot believe how quickly we folded on his currency and bloody relieved the situation fell apart and he's staying put. No way should you trade a player like Hogan unless you get value in return. I'm all for "fair trades" but that's just getting bent over for the highest tradeable commodity on our list.
  15. But Gold Coast could well end up with band 1 compo if he leaves next year which, let's face it, is going to be another pick inside the top 5. The AFL will ensure they're looked after, the club is a basketcase when it comes to player retention. I doubt they (GC) would be too upset with that outcome next year. Slightly different story for free agents leaving high-placing clubs, because the FA compo is so much less and a trade one year early can yield better currency.
  16. Even before this year, we'd won a final more recently than the Bombers. Not too upset about Shiel. Turnover merchant and has a selfish attitude bred into him at that "team of champions" the Giants.
  17. It's Essendon, cheating is in their DNA. They'll find a way to siphon money to him outside their cap. Just like their mysterious "legal settlements" to all the WADA convicted players who remained at the club. Payments which were never disclosed nor factored into the salary cap. Amazing that. [censored] cheats.
  18. Forgot about that! Enjoy fitting that private jet into your salary cap for no return, Blooooooos! ?
  19. Gross. Lost all respect for him. [censored] hate those flogs. Only thing worse would've been Hawthorn I guess.
  20. Not in a million years would I trade pick 5 for Steven May. Jesus! What a disastrous outcome that would be. I'd rather take a punt in the draft with talent that high, at least you'll get a decade longer out of them!
  21. Wouldn't an intelligent list manager have started a bidding war for the concession pick, considering many clubs would've had their sights set on hidden gems? Create paranoia and play clubs against clubs, wait until someone blinks and offers overs. Oh, nope. We'll just settle for some shitty pick in the 50s on day 1 from the first club that asks. Nevermind all that. ?
  22. What an insanely stupid trade from Carlton. Morons. Completely defeating the entire purpose of what that pick is meant to serve.
  23. The reason Freo are playing hardball is because they know they can't easily get Lobb and Hogan without giving up everything in the first round. GWS will want one of their first few picks as well, we will obviously want two. There seems to be a concerted effort in the media to create the impression Hogan is only worth one first rounder. Wonder why!
  24. Not debating that. My point was entirely around how we botched that trade. Don't give a [censored] about Howe leaving, stuff him, but we should be extracting better currency than the likes of Ben Kennedy for Howe.
