How bloody deflating and "old Melbourne" of us to wrap up this weekend with a flat effort like this. If we'd converted early this game was ours. Instead we seem to have packed our bags and hit the grog.

Getting nervous now but we have to keep riding out Box Hill's momentum. We're really blowing our lead going into the last quarter. To echo everyone else though, this umpiring is an absolute disgrace and should be investigated. Disgustingly biased.

I hope the lesson the team takes away from this is exactly that: you blow easy wins during the season proper, then you throw away a double chance in the finals and risk outcomes like today. All season long (actually for two seasons now) we've decided to do everything the hard way when we could've avoided it with more effort. Win one more game and we finish top 4, then the world is our oyster. Hopefully we make amends next year, just as the team made amends for missing finals last year in such heartbreaking fashion.

The entire team was horrible. Yeah, Lewis had a shocker but he was excellent in the last two weeks. Overreaction.

Eerily similar to Roosy's final match. Anyway. I said all week I didn't mind losing so long as the boys put in. Today, everything that could go wrong did go wrong. However, 12 players didn't lay a tackle in the first half. We didn't kick a goal in the first half. We weren't just beaten, we weren't just embarrassed, we were made to look like complete amateurs. After such an impressive finals campaign I think that stings more than the loss itself.

After Jones performance today, he has no right to complain if he's stripped of the captaincy. He went missing again, when it mattered most. Tyson has been atrocious today. I haven't been on his back all year like some other players but I fully understand why he frustrates some supporters. Almost every decision he's made today has resulted in a West Coast advantage.

LOL Melbourne player nearly takes a mark and some idiot teammate crashes into him and he drops the mark, resulting in an easy West Coast goal. Sums up our day. The worst team performance of the year. Once again, I'm glad we served this up today and not next week. The idea of us playing this badly against the Pies is vomit-worthy.

Fritsch would be feeling dirty right now. Not that he was the difference between a win or loss but Joel hasn't exactly set the world on fire. Oscar has been pretty good. Lewis, Jones, Tyson have all had shockers. Oh God, how did Weid miss that? This is like nightmare fuel.

You just could not expect that we would completely capitulate at every contest, every clearance, every forward entry, every defensive mark, every... thing, basically. It's almost farcical how much has gone wrong today.

The ONLY positive I can take from this is I'm glad this has happened this week rather than next. That would be scarring beyond belief.
