  1. A lot of players had reviews this week so I imagine many were informed of where they're at. If Jack is being put up for trade I can imagine it hitting him hard, thus being emotionally unable to play. Just look at how Geelong played last week after many of their players were told to move on.
  2. So what's the AFL going to say when a bunch of fringe, no-name North VFL players go out with the sole intention of injuring, corking and knocking around Richmond players, knowing they'll be dropped the week after and the suspensions will be irrelevant? Does ANYBODY at the AFL have a brain cell between them? Apart from being a blatant violation of their own integrity rules, are they actually so short-sighted as to not see the benefits that North can reap here?
  3. I hope so, so badly that this backfires horribly for them with a hundred point thumping in finals week 1. No team worthy of a premiership reduces themselves to this. And the AFL, in all their stupidity, can't do a thing to stop it after rubber stamping Fremantle's choice.
  4. I'll really miss Crossy, I reckon he had at least 10-12 really good/great games left in him. Frankly, unless we already have some marquee names signed and delivered this trade period, I do consider this premature. They probably could've afforded to sign him a 1 year extension with a mutual trigger to move him into development coaching in 2017. Instead we're just "hoping" he wants to stick around. Shrug.
  5. Curious if Adcock has a role to play in this? Or less specifically, the club is going to recruit another senior player being released by their current club, and we decided we couldn't have Cross on the list as well?
  6. Agreed, the team is vastly improved with Pedo in Dawes' place. Frankly, I'd take a fit Pedo at his best over the recruitment of Lynch, even if he has less years left in him.
  7. Wasn't last year meant to be a weak draft? The first round was a goldmine. I bet Roosy wishes he'd done more to get Cockatoo and Lever right about now.
  8. If Brisbane get pick 2 for Leuenberger then we should get pick bloody 6 for Garland.
  9. What you're watching is a sneak preview of the GWS Giants circa 2025, after they've won their successive premierships.
  10. Lions said a week ago that they would be using him as trade bait, hardly a surprise he's formally requested the trade.
  11. Player managers would love us. We're the perfect fodder to use to boost their clients' price with their preferred destination.
  12. Only if Port lose to Peel Thunder and GWS lose to us (in which case the Collingwood/Essendon result won't make any difference to us; we'll have stitched up pick 6). But you're right; if Port, Geelong and GWS all lose, Collingwood definitely don't have much to play for other than a 3 pick downgrade in the draft. I could see some creative coaching preventing that from happening.
  13. Hypothetically, if we lose by >45pts to GWS and Essendon upset Collingwood by >1pt, we'll get pick 4. Can't shake the feeling their players are well and truly cooked though; that Gold Coast match in round 21 was probably the game that locked in the bottom 4. Anyway, they desperately want the higher draft pick, especially when it's public knowledge they need to a full list rebuild via the draft. They'll be happy to bank a loss and we'll be happy to bank a win.
  14. The Pies were the club pushing hardest to trade future draft picks, so it's no surprise this was on the cards. They know that Treloar added to their midfield equals finals, thus trading their first rounder for 2016 is no loss (if it's between pick 14-18)
  15. He's obviously being primed as the replacement for Dawes.
  16. Easy to understand why Adelaide can't match that, considering the situation with Dangerfield.
  17. I think almost every MFC supporter would take Michie & Newton over Terlich, M. Jones, or any of the other countless pre-Roos list-cloggers. Ultimately, they are only depth players though, but they're still an upgrade on the latter.
  18. Ricciuto sounded annoyed when asked about it on Sunday, too.
  19. He's going to the Pies, it's been a done deal for weeks. Forget the peripheral nonsense about Richmond or... heh, Carlton. They're even less attractive than us. Good luck, Bolton! He might land a Vince/Cross/Tyson type during his honeymoon draft but he'll struggle beyond that.
  20. In one respect it was the perfect end to the season -- no ifs or buts about certain players now. They were challenged to respond and failed miserably, time and time again. Just makes Roos' non-nostalgic decisions in a few months time that much simpler.
  21. Probably whatever we get for Howe, late first/early second rounder. We'll probably take 5/6/7 to the draft.
  22. Herald Sun article last week, also mentioned our interest in Lynch. Ricciuto was suspiciously awkward during yesterday's match when pressed on the issue, as well (Lynch, that is, not Howe. Either way, seems like he's gone).
  23. I was over the moon when I realised Sheahan was hosting 360 tonight. An actual pair of intellectuals finally getting the chance to question Roos, rather than a bumbling moron pontificating nonsense.
  24. Surely it's a sign that Fitzy's gone? He never got back in the team after tunnel ball.
  25. Should be a farewell game for another chunk of the list.
