The Rising Star Thread - Congratulations Jesse Hogan!
SaberFang replied to Nascent's topic in Melbourne Demons
Richo tore Gibbs a new [censored] on 3AW today for his "joke" tweet during the week. He sounded absolutely rope-able that his decision to give Hogan the 5 votes were being questioned by such a [censored]. Wouldn't expect any Carlton Rising Star winners in the foreseeable future with such embarrassingly childish conduct. -
WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

I wonder if the club would build any clauses into the contract in the scenario he gets banned? -
2015 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
SaberFang replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Always go best available. Reckon the Saints might regret last year. You don't need to go tall with pick #1 just because they appear to be the best available tall. Look at Bruce. -
That's not fair on earwigs.
-
So he spends the article, seemingly, lamenting that good players are leaving poor clubs, then finishes by saying Hogan should go home to WA. Okay then.
-
North are the same. Their list will get them to finals by endlessly topping up on near-expired geriatrics, but it'll never be able to compete for a flag in the way that teams built from the draft can.
-
That non-call HTB decision against North was horrible. It basically ended Richmond's game. Oh well, they had their chances. I can't wait to see the pretenders get smashed by Heeney next week. Norf are the softest team in the competition, always resort to pathetic staging and diving antics. Heeney has more talent than the entirety of Norf's list.
-
Our best of 2015 would've destroyed both these teams. Both look flat, slow and inefficient.
-
Hahaha, Thomas decides to kick a player in the head with an umpire in full view. [censored] moron. Enjoy your week off.
-
Could easily be any of them. Yep, the footy gods failed us on this one. Neither of these teams today should be anywhere near finals, unlike the Crows and Dogs.
-
That Swallow dive in the goalsquare is the most pathetic thing I've seen from an AFL captain in my life. Pathetic, soft loser.
-
They'd look much faster in their electric scooters.
-
It would be a disaster for the AFL if North smashed Richmond after the resting drama. Just imagine round 23 next year; 8 teams won't even turn up. Really hope the karma bus hits Scott and the fans are vindicated.

Loved all the speeches uploaded so far. Very impressed with T-Mac. Looking forward to hearing Hogan speak as well. Roosy's speech is up: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/video/2015-09-13/best-and-fairest-paul-roos

3AW team seem pretty confident Hawks are going after Bennell hard. Would be infuriating if that came to pass.
-
There's so many positives no matter today's outcome, but I would definitely take much more pleasure watching North lose. Not only for their resting players arrogance, but to finally show up that prima donna Scott for the terrible coach he is. I reckon the umpiring will be horrible and heavily biased in Richmond's favour. Demonland drinking game, a shot for every Lindsay Thomas dive?

Senility.

I'd back Taylor to find another Nibbler around pick 40 than take Melksham. -

$400k for Melksham is insanity in a way that makes $500k for Dawes look sensible. Surely there is no way our footy department could be so moronic? -
To be honest, I think you're right.
-
I'd rather he stayed at Adelaide than went to bloody Geelong. Sick of clubs being able to prolong their time at the top thanks to free agency. It's an abomination.
-
Yep, sadly Stringer is in the class of "freakish" alongside Rioli, Betts and Wingard. It's a bitter pill to swallow, passing on him... but his injury concerns make it slightly more understandable. Not too different from the Lever situation, actually. Huge potential but huge risk.
-
Adelaide's best weapon is James Frawley. I doubt they'll stay in Melbourne. They're likely already on the flight home.
-
The alarm bells should be ringing the moment the Pies are happy to let them go. Doesn't take a rocket scientist.
-
The next best thing to Bennell coming to us is the pure lulz of him going to a side that is so obviously a season away from oblivion. North Melbourne are like a guinea pig in a wheel; endlessly getting average draft picks, endless average performances on-field, endlessly picking up average free agents, endlessly finishing their season with average finals performances. There is not one thing about North Melbourne that indicates a premiership beckons. Nothing would please me more than seeing Richmond smash them tomorrow.
