Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?
Tough Kent replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
Yet you argue we need to add youth to the youngest 22 in the competition. I would've thought quality footballers with some experience would've been the priority? -

No, I'll just tell you that you had no idea of the demographic of our side and now you're just covering your tracks so you don't look like a tool. -

You do realise that we've had the youngest and least experienced 22 in 17 of the 22 rounds this year????? -
Need to play six VFL games to qualify for finals. Clayton had played 5. He didn't play for Casey today he wouldn't have qualified.
-
Sure is
-
Do you think Casey are a legitimate flag chance?

I don't think that Hurley or Rance would be of any help to the Aussies this arvo.

Sam MaClure- "Hibberd to Melbourne, 4 year deal"
Tough Kent replied to Rod Grinter Riot Squad's topic in Melbourne Demons
How about we continue to develop the very young talented players we currently have on our list??? If these players continue to improve this will certainly help us move forward. -
I have watched the last 3 games. The Footscray game had a wind that comfortably favoured one end by 5-6 goals. The Sandy game out at Cranbourne last week was easily a 4 goal wind to the right of screen. Today, a 3 goal wind also blew to the right of vision. I'd have hated to have been a tall forward in any of the three games.

Ok, let's hope the 27 year old Grimes who lacks a yard and makes questionable decisions with the footy on a regular basis can turn his game around at the top level.
-
Agree unfortunately. Nobody enjoys putting a pen through Jack's name, but he's not taking us forward.

Have you heard anything about who might be coming to AAMI Park?

He's in our best 22 at the moment, no question. -

I choose to believe the former. Those boys payed a huge price for it too, including the fact that they will be labelled by some as drug cheats for the duration of their careers. I don't want to come across as an Essendon sympathizer because I hate the pricks but I feel for the players. They've done their time. -

"Hey Jake Melksham. We're going to inject you in the gut with this stuff that we hope will make you a better player. It's illegal, but let's roll the dice. What do you think Jake?" "Umm, ok." I reckon they've re-signed with Essendon because they love playing footy with their mates and the fuckwits who put them in this position are no longer at the club. -

Jake was a young, impressionable kid doing exactly what his club was telling him to do. Drug cheat? Give it to his club, by all means. He was a 21 year old kid doing what he was told was best for him and also legal. -
Coniglio, is a boy from Perth who signed a 2 year contract extension mid-2015 and has been through the sewerage with GWS. They look like they are going to be a power for many years to come and he decides "I'm going to Victoria to play for Richmond". I don't buy it. Board members would know less about football department goings-ons than you or I. All this talk about us not being able to afford Prestia because we have to sign Hogan and T-Mac is BS. We have banked $500,000 the last two years from our cap that we can use next year. The club has been very astute in this regard. If we don't get Prestia it's because we've lost in interest in him or we're only prepared to pay him what we feel he is worth. Richmond actually have elite players on their list at this point in time in Deledio, Cotchin, Martin, Rance and Reiwoldt, yet they can pay more for Prestia than we can afford?? No way.
-
You can have 3 years on the rookie list. He's only had 2.
-
Is there any real need to promote Wagner? I agree he looks a player but he has parts of his game that he needs to work on to ensure he is best 22 next year. Spots on the main list are like hen's teeth.
-
Agreed. He was clearly hobbling on that ankle again on Sunday. He's not right. I'm expecting the 'vandenBerg out for the season' email from the club any minute now.

Correct. If we were to trade our 2017 first round pick for say a Dion Prestia, we could not the trade our 2017 second round pick. You can't trade out two future picks from the one draft. It makes sense as it stops clubs from trading their futures away. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-08-06/future-trading-given-goahead-but-with-restrictions -
He also went went on to say that it was just a hunch. I think there's a fair bit of guess work going on at this stage.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - ANGUS BRAYSHAW
Tough Kent replied to ashdemons22's topic in Melbourne Demons
His first quarter was excellent yesterday. I know he's a million miles off this level but he reminded me a little bit of Scott Pendlebury with his lateral movement and the way he made his way through traffic. Another six games this year to pick up the speed at the top level and a huge pre-season should set Gus up for a huge 2017. -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
Tough Kent replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
He's quite adamant about that. Did he say what makes him so confident that Jesse is staying in Melbourne?
