  1. Last year I watched the sow for the first time in years to see a segment on the MFC Debt demolition. The show began with a juvenile no humour phallic joke. Its was not funny when first said but that did not prevent the joke from being recycled ad nauseam for the next half hour. The guest players brainlessly read off idiot cards (appropriate?) even when what they had to say was out of context to what was said before. It seems the show is now hooked on an unsuccessful formula. Good riddance.
  2. <_< I have picked up two internet "words" in the years on here..... sauce = source loose = lose. Are there any more? B) Agree. ATM, whatever limitations PJ has, PJ beats Meesen pants down in the ruck and definitely around the ground.
  3. More than likely. OP is a different condition with no clear path to recovery. Sylvia was a shot duck at that time with an unknown rehabilitation period. There is defined and clear path to recover from a knee reconstruction. However there is no doubt that there is a risk with Prismall. Its a different risk to Sylvia. And Prismall had at least played some decent footy and held his own in one of the leading midfields before going down injured. And Sylvia has achieved what as a footballer at that time?? More importantly what has he achieved since??? Live and learn (There's another one for you Iv'a )
  4. Who would have taken a punt on his OP? We could not trade him then and if he is ordinary in his sixth year of AFL we wont be able to trade him in 12 months. Especially not with an off field record that matches a pedestrian on field record. There's a shortage of ruckman in the AFL but there is no shortage of one paced overrated non performing ordinary footballing party boys. He is in the CJ bracket. If someone wants him they will PSD him.
  5. He could rightfully manage Graham Polak.
  6. I dont like the Club myself but at least they do get 80,000 supporters to a game once or twice a year. I think its a credit to their supporter base. No flag in nearly 30 years and their performance in the last 10 years has been poor yet they can still pull a crowd. They have more support than people give them credit for. And I still dont like the Club.
  7. Check Phoenix's post. We rookied one and traded for one in the past year or so. We put out the feelers for Warnock. I dont think you can take that view of Bailey. What could he have realistically have done in the past year or so? Its another inherited list problem. Sorry I havent read them. Is there more than one that would not be sarcastic? It speaks volumes about PJ as a ruckman when Jamar goes down and people think we're screwed in the ruck. No one has put forward PJ as a replacement Maybe PJ just cant ruck. <_< . Spencer's raw but at least he is someone we can work on. IMO our No 1 ruck is a rookie. One is just a rover one is still a rookie. I'll back the rookie. I'm not. The side is very much WIP with some obvious holes with no out and out champion(s).
  8. Which clubs were chasing OP riddled players who had not done anything yet? You would have got nothing for him then as you would now.
  9. Sauce??? Your tag line has a nasty typo in it.
  10. Hoopla, what list management strategies would you have implemented to address this problem? Who would you have targetted and who would you have realistically had to give up to resolve it? And just for the record, Jamar has not had a history of foot injuries that are anything unusual for a player of his type. This injury is not a recurrence but a new injury.
  11. My thoughts...... Aust SA India Sri Lanka Pakistan England West Indies New Zealand Daylight Bangladesh Zimbabwe
  12. Makes alot of sense trading an AA ruckman when you are seeking to make a serious push into the top 4 at that time.
  13. No its more like basic common sense (one more for you). Hear Hear.
  14. How about [censored]? From Bailey's talking on the MFC website, I would have thought that he is focussed on playing Meesen. And before a player goes on the LTI, he must personally agree to going on the LTI. I cant think why Jamar would agree to go onto the LTI to let another player competing for his spot while he is injured for up to 8 weeks?
  15. Once upon a time in a big wood lived..... The same point remains. Its MFC that incurred the error from the supplier and it would be good but highly unlikely if they were significantly recompensed. However the only problem supporters had who received the packages was they got Saints stickers and not MFC stickers. Hardly the end of the world for them and not deserving of any compensation.
  16. Its above the line cost that is not cheap nor cost effective. It does not address the problem at hand (the incorrect delivery of the stickers) nor rectify the issue for the customer. The problem was not that big an issue but it should be rectified. In this financial climate and given the status of the Club's finances I dont think there is any justification in this instance for giving out unwarranted and costly jollies. Dont drown in the cliches though.
  17. The Club should be taking the steps to get it fixed with the 3rd party supplier who is clearly at fault. I would have thought a simple communication to affected members to explain the problem and what is being done to rectify it. In the end no one has been grossly inconvenienced by the matter and offering all affected parties "one off benefit" like a free pre game President's lunch is unnecessary, implies that the problem is bigger than it actually is and is unaffordable for a Club that is so financially straightened. Its overkill. But the Club should seek to rectify the problem so it does not occur again.
  18. Not on what he has shown to date. His efforts to date reflect what he cant do more than what he can Like I said I would be rapt if he plays capably or better at AFL level. If he does, it raises another questions as to why he has been so chronically poor and inept against mostly lesser opposition. However, I would like to see Meesen perform well if he gets an opportunity and will support him when he does. As for Jamar, he does lose a fair share of contests and at his very but rare best he nullifies the opposition. But he does not win many contests. We need better than that.
  19. Seriously in a press conference what would you expect a Coach to say?? At best those quotes reflective trying to put a positive spin on a very ordinary performance. If Meesen surprises on the upside, I will be rapt but on what I have witnessed to date in the practice matches and in the VFL last year I would not be betting any money on a winner here. Meesen will need to show everyone what he has not be able to do to date....that he can play AFL football. He has not been close thus far. Your rose coloured glasses are a thicker and more opaque lens than others. B) Spencer in his last game in the VFL last year with Sandy 1sts before getting glandular fever as an 18yo, 200cm+ ruckman was BOG. His form in the practice match thus far have been most encouraging. Unless Jamar has improved over the summer, Spencer would be our No 1 ruck ahead of all the others. He is still raw and is still developing but the signs are very good. Spencer has got his opportunities through performance. Meesen has his opportunity as a consequence of injury. On games to date Meesen has shown nothing to date. And at 23, the clock is ticking on a player whose only achievement at AFL is a high draft pick number. Jamar only confirmed that he has plateaued since White retired. He is just not good enough. I would not count your chickens either with Newton yet.
  20. At least someone has some common sense around here. <_<
  21. Agree on both fronts Monty. Gilly was a freak because he was such a devastating batsman. He was also a very good but not brillliant keeper. There were days when Gilly was just ordinary with the gloves. Haddin came in with big shoes to fill. He was rusty early but has more than justified his selection. McGain absolutely has to play in the 3rd test. It a perfect chance to see his credentials and Test capabilities ahead of the Ashes in England. And yes both Mitch and Siddle have been outstanding. Steyn may have been the bowler of 2008 ahead of an emerging Johnson but Johnson is taking it to another level. Siddle's improvement and effort in the past six months has been outstanding. Hilf could come into his own in England if he can move the ball away from the right hander at pace.
  22. Great memories. Unfortunately Green has shown in the 9 years since that at best he can pinch hit up forward from time to time but cannot cut it full time up there. He's been a great servant to the Club and has adapted his game to the tough demands of the contest.
  23. Absolutely spot on Jacey. At his peak TJ was there. He never delivered consistently.
  24. You may have on doubt but you have not established anything more than a consequential link. The silly thing is that Sylvia was nursed through his first four years at MFC and not overplayed. And the Rivers injuries that he had before he joined are not connected to his OP so are not relevant given his past disposition. Both Watts and Blease were taken as 17yos and would naturally be subject to some development. And we dont know how they are going to be used in their first two years at this point.
