  1. Meesen to be a first dibs midfielder too. Miller up back .......aaah no. Contender for thread of the year
  2. While the Windies bat like millionaires but perform like paupers. A perfect batting pitch and they blow it...
  3. Well done 45! They are now 1/373 off 64 overs. At almost a run a ball!!! Virender Sehwag (rhb) 233runs 193 balls 31 fours 7 sixes. That is 6 200s in a career. Amazing player. Half way to the Don's record of 12. Best of the bowlers is UWMBCA Welegedara 16 2 73 0. Only bccause his runs per over is the lowest at 4.56. Why does he have so many names???
  4. You had no need to carry on like you did and you have done on other threads. Glad you're comfortable with the melodrama. Go Dees! Sorry missed the cryptics after the word "issue". Given the situation at AFL grounds I cant see how they police it. Agree its tough. In EPL they have smaller grounds with segragated entry and standing with security amongst and with the crowds before and during the games due to past disasters. AFL tickets are not bought in people's name so without tighter IT security AFL grounds will struggle to enforce it.
  5. I didn't take anything out of context. And you as a lawyer should know better than that. And for the sake of facts I have used no censorship whatsoever. Everything you have written in this thread is your own and on display and its hardly impressive. But your chuffed. Good work. Like I said "Each to their own". Go Chill.
  6. If they can police it. Crown Casino would be far easier to police than any AFL ground particularly with the hordes of people flooding in the hour before kick off.
  7. Injuries aside. GAWN is still a kid whose body is still developing and growing and he needs a couple of years development before he should be playing AFL. Spencer is three years older and while still developing is going to be physically ready for AFL it at all around the same time. GAWN might well be a better player than Spencer but time will tell. Agree with that.
  8. Collingwood jokes aside, I think your right. There is no case of revenge or justice being done here. A case of a dysfunctional bloke from a broken upbringing does damage to an innocent person. The guy will and should be punished for the crime but there are no winners in this. Hardly justifies it. Howe does the AFL prevent a banned someone from attending an AFL game?
  9. Well put Nasher. The ball is now well and truly in Colin's court to blossom.
  10. Its interesting. I guess if I was Bailey I would want to know what has changed from 3 years ago when you appointed me for 3 years and now you offer me less than that. Given the difficult road Bailey has taken and there is no doubt he has sacrificed his WL record for list development with the knowledge and acceptance of the Board I dont think the issue of the wooden spoons and the ladder placings should be significantly relevant. If it is then I think the Club does not have fiath in Bailey and he will be operating with one eye looking over his shoulder all the time.
  11. When would you give him the extra year? If Bailey does get to the end of 2010 when his 3 year contract is over, offering him another year would be a half hearted endorsement of Bailey by the Board, Bailey would see it as a lack of faith and the risk is he will push for ST wins at the cost of LT development of players. If MFC are of that mindset then they should be thinking of a coach for the future beyond Bailey.
  12. I think he meant 2002. All the players you talk of bar Robbo were gone by end of 2002. FWIW, Ox played a very poor 2000 GF and his decline from there to his retirement in mid 2002 pronounced. Jed Alcock at pick 32 (?) was an AA and a fine player. Ben Hudson has been a capable player at the Crows and the Dogs. But I agree with your assertion that the 2003 draft (Cooney aside) has been a very ordinary draft. To date I dont think Sylvia over that period beyond a few cameos has been much different. So unless 2010 is a break out year and excels, I think the posts that claim Sylvia as more than this at this point and his recruitment as a good reruiting decision are fudging the facts. Its just MFCs luck we had picks 3 and 5 in a very odinary draft. I hope we have the pick of the crop from the 2008 and 2009 drafts.
  13. This topic has been bashed around in other threads but..... depending where those wins come, we may have more than 8 wins but Bailey may not survive the heat. At 8 wins at year end would you give him 3 years? I doubt he will accept a shorter term. I am not sure I would. But I am not certain I would be in the position to be confident in giving him another 3 years. Its an interesting one.
  14. He had the attitude from his junior days in the country. Talent is worthless unless you actual perform. Actual what is it if you never show it? Hype. I am a fan of Colin's after the cameos. This is his breakthrough year.
  15. If its true that is good. But he has not done any football for two to three months after that operation on his leg. He was ver fit prior to that operation. I understand he is starting behind the main group but on a modified program. I am not sure for how long and what impact it will have on his pre season. If he is fit enough,I am sure he will play but I would only bet your own.
  16. I am not sure it is or if there is a problem. We lack class and proven mature ball winners. Many of the young players have potential but some wont make it. Some of the older players may find there are younger and more proficient at the game. I would hope that many of the top 4 recruited are better than what we have. Its great we will have more competition for spots but the hope is those displaced get better to be real competition for the best we have. While we showed some promise last year, we just weren't good enough. I hope we have gone a long way to addressing that.
  17. If they are fit and showing form then Trengove and Scully should be lock ins given our midfield last year. I understand Scully is on a modified program given his post season op. It might hold him back. It might open a spot for either Grysbert and Tapscott or Blease.
  18. And No 20 too if I remember correctly. Nice bloke too.
  19. And how much real info do coaches and recruiting officers give away? Very little. And an ex player may be further distant from the action than a journalist.
  20. True. I can only recall seeing back to Derek Feldmann. The journeyman came good that day. Did we preserve the number in due respect? Some things in your life you dont wish to remember.
  21. Only by the hype on footy forums. 16 clubs have spoken...
  22. Davey/Sylvia and Morton. Hence the problem with the 2009 midfield (with McLean)
  23. Cameron came to us in 1998 and MFC despite the return of some LT injured stars that year were definitely in a rebuild. I think the comparison can be made.....but after 5 years when his first 3 years of recruiting has at least 3 years of experience. BTW, it was 2002. Molan was recruited in 2001. In 2003, we took McLean and Sylvia who weren't talls. The selections of Breese, Smith and Bell amongst others are hardly high points for CAC but he should be judged in totality. Sylvia is 24, played 87 games in six years. We are still waiting on his potential. Despite the cameos last year, it been a lean return. I do hope for better in 2010. But I am not popping corks until we see it.
