  1. Our recent track record of trading in KPPs has been vastly superior to trading in mids. And when is the last time we've attracted a decent free agent?
  2. Correct. Fritsch is essentially a key forward. Using a 1st round pick in 3 out of 4 drafts to select a key forward is ludicrous, especially when our midfield stocks are depleted. The only logic would be if Jefferson has been written off as a bust, and even then I wouldn't do it.
  3. Hard to get excited.
  4. I'd rather have that 3rd round pick this year than Billings. I don't see him as depth, as I imagine our 1st round picks will be getting a game ahead of him. Hopefully he was only given a 2 year deal.
  5. A mate of mine is a life member of West Perth, so I follow them closely. They had a poor year this year, but generally are contenders for a flag. Their primary mids Aaron Black and Connor West have played AFL footy for the WCE, but they're slow and average users. I suspect that they want to regenerate their midfield, hence they targetted Roan Steele. In my view, the decline of Casey over the past couple of years has been due to the influx of ageing rejects from other clubs, and whether they are motivated to play at Casey. These players are sold a role in the AFL starting 23, but once they are dropped to Casey, they revert back to the players they were at their former club. Many Demonlanders seem to think that these players are fine because they were cheap acquisitions, but imho they are having a negative affect on the younger Dees players at Casey, and the Casey affiliated players. It was pathetic watching a Casey team with 8-10 AFL listed players who were over 27 getting towelled up. It's not surprising to see a mass exodus of Casey players. Hopefully the review of the Football Department includes the Casey affiliation.
  6. Sport at the highest level is all about bouncing back from adversity. Many a player has made a mistake which has cost a team a win. If that moment defined Sam's career, then he obviously wasn't cut out for high level sport. You can't blame the media for broadcasting a player's emotions.
  7. Well @bluey is my chief recruiting scout, so with pick no. 9 in the AFL draft, the MFC choose Sam Weideman.
  8. I've said it many times that I didn't want to give up early picks for Houston, but let's not bury our collective heads in the sand and blame Trac. The club needs to address Trac's management concerns, because if we don't, this may be an ongoing occurrence. I've always thought that Connors Management were always very reasonable, and never try to screw clubs.
  9. I'm really disappointed. It's one less thing I can ****can my Bombers mates about.
  10. These ratings are purely for media clickbait and Talk Radio discussion. We probably got an A+ when we picked up Grundy and Hunter on the cheap. Both were busts, and has sent our list backwards. I am more than happy for us to sit on our hands and target the draft. Just hope that through some pick swaps, we can go deeper into the draft, rather than just 2 top enders.
  11. The biggest issue is that we haven't replaced Jackson. Fullarton was supposed to be the guy, but so far hasn't shown enough at VFL level. If we can alleviate JVR of 2nd ruck duties, I'm more than happy with he, Petty, Turner and a developing Jefferson. We've used 2 1st round picks on key forwards in 2 of the last 3 drafts. We need to top up on quality mids. So unless a quality key forward fell to us via free agency, I wouldn't blow our draft capital on a key forward.
  12. My laptop is my telly. And antiques roadshow would have been more enjoyable.
  13. Out of all the players that changed clubs, the only one I'm spewing we didn't get was Peatling, especially at the price.
  14. I blame Australia Post. The official request got lost in the mail.
  15. The Crows got Peatling for a bargain. Peatling + F3 + F4 for F2.
  16. The AFL is misguided if they think that extending the cut-off time to 7.30 is great tv. Watching officials sitting around is not gripping viewing.
  17. We'll agree to disagree.
  18. Here we go again. Just because deals were impossible to get done, doesn't mean that negotiations didn't take place. So the media picked a random Geelong player (Rhys Stanley) to create a fictional story that Oliver met with Geelong players on a farm. Did the media go to the titles office to see which Geelong players own a farm? Your comment is what turned this place into a [censored] show, not the media.
  19. It's a no for me. Has Jack Billings written all over. Went from being a permanent fixture in Cats side to being on the outer for past 2 seasons. Cats preferred Jye Clark over him, even though Clark seemed to struggle. Parfitt's a premiership player at the Cats. Like Hunter, what's his motivation to toil away at Casey as a depth player? And I don't care how cheap they are. If we have a spare list spot, just get a kid into the system, who has his whole career ahead of him.
  20. Contrary to Tomlinson, Fullarton and Jefferson have virtually no exposed form at AFL level. And neither Turner nor Hore can't pay the May role. At the very least. I'd keep him ahead of Hore, who missed a lot of games through injury.
  21. If we got pick 26 for Spargo next year, then Tim Lamb is a genius. A DFA is more likely.
  22. Tomlinson was probably the only legitimate depth player we had this year. Did an adequate job when selected, but was a whipping boy of the match committee. If we intend playing Petty/Turner up forward, then we have no key back depth. I've given up understanding our list management.
  23. That would make the trade deal with the Bombers look ridiculous for us. We could have kept all those picks for what is essentially our F1 & P28 for 13 and 24. We could have bundled all those later picks and got another 2nd rounder from a club needing points.
  24. The acquisition and playing of Hunter in 2023 was a fail by the club. He was playing in the VFL for the Dogs in 2022 for a reason. And in 2024 he was a list clogger for us. I see more of a future with Harry Sharp.
  25. Not a bad idea, but I think the Tiges will target pick 2 from North.
