  1. My sister worked for the Dees in the mid 80s at Jolimont terrace. She sadly passed away last year from Cancer. Both Big Jim and Sean spent time/or al least visited the office there as my sister told me tales of their high jinks in the office:-) There were many factors at play but I do wonder.
  2. I wonder if there has been any breach of the corporations act. To spend half a mill and to have fake receipts or none at all must be an issue? Or does this not apply to an AFL team?
  3. The other "takeaway" from your statement is that to enjoy Burgo one must move interstate?
  4. This is interesting from a couple of angles "Occupational health and safety issues have also been raised amid concerns rival clubs will not be willing to compete against a large number of top up players." Seasoned AFL players could injure inexperienced players & or inexperienced players could play or engage in a way that could injure AFL players due simply to the differing ways that each approaches the game.
  5. Agreed, but once found guilty the time spent training shouldn't count toward the suspension time served (I'm not saying that you specifically are stating it should btw
  6. Good to see a journalist finally calling it for what it is, a Drug Program, not a supplements program. "AFL and ASADA inquiry into Essendon’s drug program" http://www.theaustralian.com.au/sport/opinion/patrick-smith-opinion-time-to-move-on-james-hird/story-e6frg7uo-1227202811849?sv=b8f77a6f118e18a17e12149e3b2af971#.VMvwCP7wZe8.twitter
  7. Can't wait for the next move by Hird, am sure he will have more self interest up his sleeve. Will he start to drop bombs, and if so from his own mouth or through his compliant media outlets?
  8. Agreed. The letter reads like a contrived after the fact ass covering. Was it really hand written and not email? Does he have an Essendon email account? Any email account that he uses professionally? Why not use that instead of hand writing something of such importance that there would be no possible duplicate nor proof of delivery or existence. Any one in the workforce that uses email is taught in week 1 to "PUT IT IN AN EMAIL" for proof. The snail mail version of this is a REGISTERED LETTER with a photocopy! A flimsy memo for something so important FFS? I might take 6 weeks off work without advising anyone and on my return drop a post dated letter in my bosses office, "sorry boss, I wrote you a letter, didn't you get it?" "sorry boss for the 4 hour lunch break, I wrote you a letter, can't you find it?" "Sorry boss, I didn't like my colleagues stripping the office bare and selling the furniture and computers for personal profit, but I wrote a letter, can't you find it?" "The hand-written letter was intended for chief executive Ian Robson and his directors, and yet none of the above were aware of it until February this year. That document was not seen by Evans until about one year later, shortly before the story broke" How very convenient, just before the story broke it pops into existence. Link From memory the "letter" wasn't found till AFTER the story broke. "Lost" until the SHTF? Any fair minded person would have to be suspicious. You could plant a market garden in this steaming pile of a story!!!
  9. A "truly special" coast to coast followed by a full team flood
  10. Even if the Prof is correct, it still happily shows intent on behalf of Ess considering they aren't in the anti aging biz as mentioned above
  11. I like to hope that Mitch is getting better at what he does best, bail out on clubs. Maybe this time he will bail without even playing a game?
  12. Agreed. The next worst thing is people complaining in a thread about the topic to which the title was fair warning enough. The next worst after that is people complaining about other people complaining ;-)
  13. well...... I reckon retrospective could occur, it's not like their actions were the social norm and that later penalties are a complete surprise. They were breaking a law/rule to which penalties applied already, they've only been "enhanced" so the speak ;-) or the "barnacles" have been scraped off.
  14. Depends I guess on who is running Worksafe and who put them there, would predate Labour safe to assume.
  15. Does anyone know if Worksafe has performed a site inspection of Essendon to see if the site is now "up to standard"? One would think they must have performed at least this function.
  16. That is a very interesting point and one I didn't know. Ouch
  17. Not meaning to hijack with gastronomic tidbits but gluten free snags are wheat free, rice flour is the common substitute. All meat snags are unpalatable for the majority of folks for a few reasons.
  18. But because snags are also high in grain the players will have to be satisfied with cooking them but watching others eat them ;-)
  19. Do we know for a fact that cross examination is performed at a tribunal hearing? Don't tribunal members hear evidence from both sides and perform their own questioning? I guess each tribunal works differently but..........
  20. Interestingly, if Charter were ever to front a doping tribunal or called before an appeals body, how far back could/would the questioning go? Would he for instance be quizzed on "assistance" he gave Hird during his playing days? How far back does Charter's work with Alavi go and with what substances and for whom? Interesting times.
  21. I worked in manufacturing from the late 80's through all of the 90's to the very early 2000's and the gov body for accident investigations during that time from my experience was a bit of a marketing exercise. Way more bark than bite.
  22. And surely if Dank had the evidence to exonerate, Essendon would also be aware of it and be screaming from the rooftops for it.
