Gaff was so obviously in shock after it happened that I doubt he has any understanding of how and why it happened. Purely a subconscious reflex act but no excusing it and requires a big penalty. Chances are he was not in a good mental space going into the game and snapped and I hope he seeks help.

I think the outrage is because the victim is 18 and the damage done so severe. Not being able to eat solids for a month and 4 displaced teeth. It was a very forceful hit. I wonder if he was wearing a mouth guard.

It’s great to have 2 newbies in Spargo and Fritsch that know how to use the ball. Because of that they don’t have to have a zillion possessions to impact. Spargo seems very focussed, concentrates and doesn’t go in for extravagant celebrations. Love watching Charlie and Bayley play. Great recruiting

A good example of the Peter principle in trying to rise above his sphere of competence. He is very much an outside player with not a great tank. Will have to work very hard to become a midfielder with us or elsewhere.

Jordan didn’t have a great day mostly due to poor disposal, which at times looked lazy and a little bit arrogant. He was surely streets ahead of Vince who has done nothing all year and plays with no urgency.

He says that missing finals has really burnt him inside. He plays like it. Ferocious at the contest.

Great to see Gus recognised by the coaches for a really first class game. Can’t understand the nit picking on here.
