I realise this is probably the wrong thread, but just building on what you're saying here - without knowing exactly what drugs were taken and what ongoing benefits these playersmay still experience, I find it unacceptable that any of the players are allowed to remain at that club. It would appear that after 1, perhaps 2, years of onfield pain they will reap the benefits of their drug program, as well as picking up the cream of this years draft crop, and potentially be able to fiddle with contracts (via compensation payouts) to cheat the salary cap. WTF didn't we think of this ten years ago, rather than going down the not-tanking path?

You've got it all wrong Gorgs, this is the only way to get better. There's no point practicing anything at training, it's meaningless. The only way to learn to handball better is to just keep doing it during a game, over and [censored] over again. They may have a match KPI that if they can get to 300 handballs during a game they call off training for the week altogther.

I think there has to be one eye kept on the future. For mine Grimes represents our recent history and will be walked at the end of the season, he's not the future. At the same time I don't think Kennedy should get a game either. He has the tricks and will be a player for us, but the one thing lacking with him is consistency. He needs to string them together at Casey before he gets another crack.

Interesting. So if the appeal is upheld the Essendon players will no longer be suspended, thus the top-up players no longer able to play. I'd love to see how that plays out. Much prefer they and the club were confirmed as drug cheats though.

Well that's just so unfair for the powers that be to focus on real foreign drug cheats rather than our true-blue Aussie victims. I think Essendon should have the lawyers draft up a request to drop this whole thing seeing as how long it's dragging on and, for God's sake haven't these boys suffered enough. I mean who knows how much damage is being done to their bodies, liver in particular, during this year of punishment.
