Proposed new rules for 2019
Why hasn't the MRP looked at the Brayshaw incident. He was recklessly hit high while on the ground and it could've been a very serious outcome. Is it because if they applied a penalty it would mean the umpire had made a mistake?

The search for a big man ...
It depends which way the footy dept. want to go. If we want to play 2 genuine rucks then Preuss the obvious best available. If it's purely a backup option I'd say Campbell. For mine I can't see us going with 2 rucks, because I think they'll be looking to squeeze all of Hoges, TMac and Weid into the 1 team next year. You just can't add another ruck into that equation, can you?

Possibly, I hadn't heard that but you may be right.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we're eliminated from the AFL finals then the VFL eligibility rules will come into play for the VFL, meaning Vince won't be able to play?

Welcome to Demonland Toby Bedford
Righto here's a question for you on the whole academy thing. If someone were to select Bedford with a first round pick, which we then match, using accumulated points from down the draft order, does this then count towards one of our 2 required first round picks in 4 years as per the future pick trading rules?

The problem with playing either or both of Smith and Tyson is the Cats are professionals at gaining any advantage they can, legally or otherwise, and this includes sniping. They'll go after whoever they believe to be our most influential players, but also whoever they think is an easy target. Think back and names like Jetta, Gawn (influential) and Fritsch (young target) come to mind, only in recent times. Smith's shoulder will be a target, as will Tyson's arm, I guarantee they've already discussed it, in fact they've probably spoken about Viney's foot, but decided the consequences just aren't worth it.

Agree, Fritsch in the forward half would mean he doesn't have to play the Hawkins punching bag role.

Who do we realistically target for a trade?
2016 All Australian Jasper Pittard has been thrown on the table by Port, any good?
-
Tarryn Thomas
There's a lot to play out in this and next years trade period, but with our recent first round history, chances are (and as it currently stands) we'll need to take next years pick to the draft. I'm not sure how we can get Whitfield next year without trading in more first round picks.

Changes v Geelong - Elimination Final
I think so, but at least you know he'll be going hard for 4 quarters. I think he'd wear Ablett down.

Changes v Geelong - Elimination Final
If Ablett goes forward I'd love to see Vanders go to him, and break him in a bonecruncher.

Casey Demons v Geelong VFL Qualifying Final
How often do both Demons teams give up rubbish frees directly in front of goal? Must've been half a dozen last week for Casey

Congratulations Daisy Pearce (First Mother Daughter/Son pick ever??)

If Clarry CHOO CHOO DOESNT make AA I will..
I'm not necessarily saying we should have someone in the forward line, just trying to work out what the criteria is for those 2 to get in. With 2 players representing your team in the fwd line, you should've really had a dominant attack, the Hawks didn't.

We scored 300 points more than the Hawks, yet they had 2 forwards in the team while we had none. Did Gunston and Bruest kick all of their goals this year?

Mitch McGovern
I just can't see how he gets to the Blues. Unless he signs for GWS for a year first perhaps.

Comments from the Rooty Hill End (GWS fan forum)
So assuming away fans generally pay for tickets, with a half decent crowd for this game, would we have made any money on the match? If the crowd was mainly Melbourne members all we'd get is the food and bev turnover (???), and I've been told at some point the beer ran out.
