What I've Learned from David King*
It was interesting that someone (maybe Barrett) said Bont will beat Trac in the brownlow due to the goals he kicks... he's kicked one more!

OPEN TRAINING: Friday 17th September @ 9:00am
While it's not great Gus couldn't train, you couldn't have asked for a better player to have chatting to the crowd.

Gary Pert on SEN (16/9/21)
It's not going to make up for no crowds at our big games and no Alice game, but it'll help. As would winning the flag

Who will be our unsung Grand Final hero?
Spargs for me. Look for him go have 4-5 direct goal assists and kick 1 or 2 himself. And still not smile.

Bentleigh Club … going, going, gone
I've heard it just covers the first year of Cerra's contract

Just think how many #positivelingers keepcups that could buy!

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
Hope that's accurate. Media going on about how we've played one match in 28 days, and a am easy one at that. The Dogs/port game was a lot softer than ours, and then two weeks without a hitout. Could work in our favour big time.

SEN interviews with past Melbourne players and staff.
Tom and Garry (maybe all of SEN) were counting down the days with interviews with people who wore that number, or related to. Say 12 days to go, Todd. 11, Sam Stynes.

Adam Cerra
Gotta give Sam credit, at least he is trying to be creative rather than dismissing it out of hand like other journos.

Sam Weideman re-signs until 2023
We have no key forward depth. Wouldn't be surprised if Weid signs on for 12 mths if he gets no significant interest

Adam Cerra
Papley. Again under contract but couldn't get home.

Who presents the Cup if we win?
How is it an insult when none of those you mentioned are available? I would have Lyon over Daisy, primarily because she is a current player. But claiming having her present over a bunch of people who can't present doesn't make sense.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
I agree he cherry picks, and he changes his mind every week. But if he hadn't in this case, which conclusion would have changed? The PF result. Which gives me confidence perhaps the Dogs win in rnd 19 is being overblown in importance. I hope the odds are indicative of what will happen in 2 weeks. It would be a good result for us.

Adam Cerra
Pretty sure one of the podcasts (may have been the RealFooty podcast) said Cerra wasn't chasing 750k, that's just what Freo offered for him to stay. He'll apparently take less to come home. It may be tricky, but I agree we wouldn't be in this if we couldn't get it done. Could someone like Hunt be on the move? Surely he'd get us a second rounder.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
Recency bias, even when the Dogs game was only 24 hrs after ours. I am never confident on the Dees winning. I am now

Gary Ayres Medal
Doggies can have it, provided we win the ones that matter. Hell, the Bont can have the Brownlow and the Norm Smith provided Gawn and co get the other 23.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
I take it these aren't the official ones? Planning to have it framed if we win.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
Interesting listening to David King on SEN today, for those who are all in on the dogs. They beat us in rnd 19 by 20 points. The expected score (I know, strange stat) for that game had it as a draw. They also scored the lost points ever from forward 50 stoppages. That won't happen again. So, if we score at at least the AFL average and don't let them score a record for forward 50 stoppages, we win. The dogs won't beat us. Only we can lose this.

Who presents the Cup if we win?
In a quirk of fate, Roos was due to present the Jock McHale medal but couldn't get to WA.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
I'm going to try to spin this week's break as good for us and bad for the dogs. The dogs are riding some sort of momentum. They might be a bit banged up, but they will need the full 2 weeks to recover, which should halt some of that momentum. They will be on relatively light duties to get their bodies right. We, on the other hand, have 2 weeks to really prepare. We have a fully fit list (assuming May would play if the GF was this weekend) and can have a great week on the track, followed by another week to get really primed. Burgo and his program will be really key for us.

GRAND FINAL: Melbourne vs Western Bulldogs
Dogs have done a great job getting through another finals campaign, but I'm a bit surprised at the fear so many people have for them. I think they will need everything going right for them to beat us. They have a great midfield, but so do we. Their backline is very suspect, outside of Dale and Daniel who aren't really lockdown defenders. Naughty is amazing, but we all know how Hannan can have an amazing game then go missing. I still think they were lucky to beat us in round 19, and only did so because we failed to capitalise on our chances in the middle of our bad run of form.

PF: Port Adelaide vs Bulldogs
Port showing why no-one rated them. Brisbane must be kicking themselves they got us then Dogs. Where as Port had a beaten up Geelong.

POSTGAME: PF vs Geelong
Turns out there may have been some truth to the virus rumour. https://www.foxsports.com.au/afl/teams/geelong-cats/afl-finals-2021-why-geelong-lost-to-melbourne-preliminary-final-virus-players-sick-chris-scott-reaction-illness-news/news-story/201410701dd1d84b6206ec97e7389c9a
