  1. Can Kent get 15 kicks instead of 5, Can Nicho back his speed and cut up the corridor, Can Dunn lower his eyes and measure his kicks, Can Jack Watts impose himself on the contest in a physical manner? The above players can do all these things and that will be the difference between winning and losing.
  2. That was about the time they told Col he'd be facing the media gauntlet.
  3. Disagree. The saints midfield will run a mock against our unaccountable lot.
  4. My understanding is Schwab looked after the collar etc on his own and i just can't understand why a CEO would be doing this.
  5. Your missing the point. I'm not saying Schwab designed them.In a large scale organisation the CEO should have the correct people in place to manage its marketing/branding operations. The CEO focusing his time on this area shows just one of his flaws. You think Mark Bouris looks after how his staff dress and what the companies logo looks like? No. He hires the relevant people to handle it.
  6. The collars, blazers, emblem and kit colour are the work of Schwab.
  7. A CEO is the highest ranking administrator within a football club. In an afl football club organisation the structure is almost always a matrix style. The non business word would be departments. The MFC structure includes a marketing & media team, hired by the CEO to perform a role which includes branding. So why were the things i mentioned in my above post being rolled out by the CEO who should, and we know hindsight proves this, of been looking after the strategic direction of the club at a higher level. I sight a functional football department, corporate sponsorship & financial sustainability as being more important roles to a ceo than the club's branding. Especially in a market where our organisation stakeholders become so through reasons other than image.
  8. The blazers, collars, emblem etc show exactly how stupidly devoted Schwab was to branding.
  9. And had the skills of someone at country footy level. Horrible kick.
  10. Welcome to the big time! Rewarding good form rather than reputation is a good start for Neil.
  11. http://m.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/the-buzz-melbourne8217s-players-are-out-of-excuses-for-failure/story-fni5f08l-1226665936650 Great stuff by Ralph. There hasn't been a more reflective article written about this group.
  12. Glad he's out myself. Firstly the break will do Michael no harm. I believe he needs to tighten up defensively. He spreads well, especially offensively but several times isn't able to work back as hard as his opponent. Similar to Blease. Hope Craig can work with him on this. Footage of what he does, footage of who does it well and direct training for it.
  13. Understand the mod's may be looking to freshen up the banner of the site. I've had first crack. Thoughts? http://tinypic.com/view.php?pic=2jadhzs&s=5
  14. The nicknames Cuddles gives me a kick everytime. Ahh, love the MFC.
  15. We'll probably never know how much pressure there was from above but if appointing Peter Jackson an afl respect administrator as CEO proves to be McLardy's last move, he'll leave a small legacy for just that.
  16. McLardy to go this afternoon. His replacment, Geoff Freeman.
  17. I'm not an expert on the lisfranc, only a foot specialist would be but I do have a sports medicine background. Misson's words are encouraging but the diagnosis before Mitchy's second bout of surgery that joint had moved struck me as a real set back. My understanding is that by releasing the screw Mitchy had insterted, the pressure on the joint is removed and hopefully it'll sit naturally having been repaired with surgery. The lisfranc joint is the single most important joint in the foot because it stabalises the structure connecting the mid and fore foot. Without being stabilised, the running and walking gait is effected causing pain and often forcing those with the injury to transfer weight through the front of the foot/toes.
  18. Taggert is inconsistent at VFL level. Giving away games of footy will not make a better club. Taggert is working on the defensive aspect of his role and until consistent in doing so doesn't deserve a senior game.
  19. Please. Having drafted Rodan for off-field reasons rather than his on field ability shows just how far we've fallen. I understand the cultural issues - if these cannot be addressed and driven by the leaders Neeld selected then Neeld's selection process has failed him and the club. Let's play the boys who will be part of Melbourne's future.
  20. I can't even tell if you're taking the [censored] anymore! Having PJ, who in his own right is a proven football administrator, in no way guarantees a rise out of this mess. You'll find alot of the problems are at board room level above PJ's head.
  21. Nothing new. He's been chatting with Ling before taking the captaincy.
  22. Agree strongly with dropping McKenzie & Dunn. Try as they may, you will not be a good footballer without decision making and basic skills. Particularly in a young team who don't spread to space and make it an easy kick.
  23. An internal review of the board from a current member is also a conflict of interest. Deloitte or not it should be handled externally to give a fair ruling.
  24. All this talk of the club now having elite training standards begs the question - Does having elite training standards in any way guarantee good performance? The jury's out.
