I think that the 2 Mac's will play other positions than defence. We tend to forget when J.Smith prior to injury (1st time) that he was doing a wonderful job. At one stage White looked the goods in 2016. Keilty could be a defender but has not got the skill to hold down CHB. Quality mids will help the forwards and defenders look good.

We paid too much for Melkshaw and broke even with Hibberd,yes that was a disaster.

When J.Smith was playing down back,our backline seemed to be more secure. Next year I think that J.Smith should become a mid,he is quick and shows skill. O.Mac could go to the wing, to some people he looks slow but he isn't. Jetta should be used up forward,may replace Garlett or used in combo. Perhaps Maynard could then play in defence. Not sure if T.Mac is a forward or Defender. What about this crazy idea when Gawn rucks Watts is the rover.This move may confuse the opposition,if Watts doesn't hold and held onto he get a free. Also rucking in our forward zone we use Pedo or T.Mac,Gawn goes to a forward pocket. To be a great team you need great mids,a changing game plan,smarter players etc.

White has been on the rokie list for 3 yrs,like the other King we had,he will be delisted.Not sure what value T.Smith and Keilty are to the club. Perhaps Fritsch from Casey may get pick up by the Dees.

You can only trade players if they are on contract otherwise they can just walk. We need currency for the forthcoming draft,don't be surprised if Hogan,Tyson,Frost,JKH,Vince and Frost are put up for trade. Huelett,Spencer,Trengove,White and Kennedy to go. We do need mids, I remember Hodge was converted into a mid. On that basis Joel Smith and Maynard may become future 2018 mids.

If younger players cannot sustain high intensity for the entire football season there are two solutions (1) recruit more experienced players especially mid(s) or(2) train existing players up so that they can perform in other areas especially the midfield. From memory Hodge was trained up to become a mid. The club can no afford to make excuses,the captain must make a statement or relinquish the position. We probably need to take a different approach in the game plan against the opposition. Point (1) might mean we will have give up something of importance i.e first round draft pick or a player.

We have bite the bullet, cannot play jones and vince in the same side. Oliver needs help and probably needs to have an additional week off. Petraccattack,It may not be the faullt of the GC club for being so called toxic.The Brisbane Bears(now lions) originally played out of Carrara(perhaps wrongly spelt) near the Gold Coast and that was a total disaster. The AFL may be pedalling sh.t up a hill on this one. Perhaps QLD can only have one AFL side due to the Rugby League and Union stronghold. You have to feel for the guys who are suppose to be successful as a team only to be disappointed by lack of results,self destruction of the club is well and truly on the "cards". There are people out there that refer to Essendon as Essendrug which I find strange due to the fact we have 2 so called drug cheats are on our books,cheats do prosper,they (Essendon) are in the 8 is proof. Going back to the Gc club, I believe that they should relocate to Southport (QLD) which has on of the biggest RSL club and an existing NEAFL team or which may be better re-locatind to Tasmania. we should keep our first round in lieu of getting experienced/high credential player elsewhere. There are always going to be a champion or a future champion out there in the draft.The 2nd rounder and a player should be the way to go re-trade.

We could of had Kelly,by doing so we may have finished higher on the ladder,which as a result we probably would not get Petracca,Brayshaw and Oliver.

I wouldn't like to see frost leave he is still a valuable player. Getting Lever would be great which means that O'Mac may have to play wing alternating defence when required. Players have to be versatile Pedo rucks,forward and defends like T,Mac etc. Players who are unable to adapt to changes may be left out. J.Smith and Maynard will become mids/whatever. We need a tough nut FP player who can create havoc,Petracca might fit the bill. We need to replemish our ruck stocks with the view of giving Gawn a rest every now and then.

Sometimes a club doesn't get the "slaughters" it deserves.We have had some good wins and some bad losses,if we play finals most of us will be happy.The club has endured plenty of injuries which doesn't help. I did predict that this year's final 8 re-dominance compared to last year. To date the current top 8 sides has lossed 60 matches compared to 50 last year.Next year will be tough.
