  1. Saty, apologies if this has been covered in another thread but do you know which line group Hunt will be training with?
  2. Left footed small forward who tested with good vertical jump results at SA combine.
  3. small forward 173cm and attended the SA combine I believe. Had the 2nd best running vertical jump at the combines at 93cm. 10th best standing vertical at 73cm. NB another leftie.
  4. We could also choose not to take him at all?
  5. Have I looked at different highlights footage on Turner or is this based on seeing him live and in full? The package on the draft machine shows him have 9 kicks, all effective with three of them goals on the run? Aside from this some good clearing handballs to connect and some serious dash? What am I missing?
  6. Based on watching nothing more than highlights and what I think is realistic based on our selections my preferred 4 picks would be OHalloran, Bytel, one of Turner/McKenzie and Bedford. Assuming no long term back concerns our list and development support allows us to give Bytel the time to get himself right and risk a boom or bust pick. My view is Walsh aside his video highlights show the next best rounded midfield attributes.
  7. Completely agree the two day draft really helps us pause and rethink all possibilities with 23 and 28. Even more so gives me confidence that whoever Taylor chooses will be the right picks.
  8. Buckenara's top 30 in order in the Herald Sun has Valente at 23 and Bytel at 28. Granted it does not take into account club need, academy or F/S concessions but has Williams (10), O'Halloran (22), Duursma (13) gone before 23 but the rest you mention still on the board at that point. Based on this being the order interested in which combo you take at the two picks. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/afl/gary-buckenara-names-his-top-30-draft-prospects-ahead-of-what-has-been-labelled-the-next-super-draft/news-story/3e632480d76f92ab844973d18586c028
  9. My assumptive best 22 is as follows Back: Jetta: May: Hibberd HB: Salem: O-Mac: Lever Cen: Kola: Oliver: Harmes HF: Trac: Weid: ANB For: Spargo: T-Mac: Melk Ruck: Gawn: Brayshaw: Viney I/C: Lewis: AVB: Jones: Fritsch: This leave us with: key back depth both proven in Frost and emerging in Petty and Keilty. small to mid backs in Hunt , Smith and Wagner with potential to swing around Lewis, Fritsch or Kolo as required. Key forward leaves us a bit light with T.Smith but the flexibility to play the extra ruck or a smaller one tall forward line with Trac or Melksham as the second. I suspect there is a chance that J Smith also is trialled forward. A back up ruck position better than last year. Strong Small forward cover in Garlett and Hannan, Midfield depth we really only have Stretch , JKH and the untried Maynard and Baker but we have plenty of flex in our half backs and forwards to play midfield minutes and suspect we will draft more in this space. Our depth knowing we have 8ish spots to fill allows us to swing wide for best available talent from a mid to long view without trying to fix for the short term.
  10. Based on highlights package there are those that statements say have pace and then there is Fraser Turner whose footage actually shows some serious toe.
  11. Not being in the leadership group doesnt mean you are not a leader around the club it just removes the formalities and the official functions and effort it takes. Neither Lewis of Jones should be in it as their number 1 priority for the team should be to focus on their individual performance. May needs to earn his leadership stripes with his new new peers. Jetta I feel is a natural leader but the tag is not important and I would prefer him to work in the background as well as continue all the marvellous work he does outside of the club. Viney captain, supported by Gawn, Lever, T-Mac is enough from an official capacity for mine.
  12. Don't disagree there is a chance he will play up front but at 187cm can you be called a small forward?
  13. Lukosios and King twins aside the quality of mids and flankers in this draft and the want for many clubs to accelerate their ladder position may mean he falls to us. If we rate him we have the list profile to allow him the time to develop at Casey. We can also afford to be more speculative due to the younger and more balanced profile of our list. It wont kill us if we miss with a mid 20s pick when we have so many good young players. Teams are less looking or needing the superstar forward at any cost and I would suggest unless you have multiple picks early are looking for the lowest risk A grader which is rarely the tall. For every Kennedy, Franklin, Lynch, Hogan there is the increasing cases of Schache, McCartin, Boyd. Add in the impact seen by Jenkins, Brown, T-Mac and others taken late who do the job well and it is not seen as necessary as maybe 5-10 years ago. This could run to our advantage this year.
  14. Pretty good. He took 14 marks which gives him plenty of chance for a few sloppy turnovers I guess.
  15. I suggest 38 and more rookies is the way we will go. With the serious depth on our list we can take players at 23 and 28 who are high talent that we accept can put significant development time in over their first contract with no pressure to do anything but develop at Casey.
  16. I wish him all the best and I will not knock those that are disappointed but I want team players who want to bleed for the jumper and their brothers in it. It never felt like that was the case with him. My view is we will be a better functioning team as we showed without him later in the year and I would not be surprised if his best football has already been witnessed due to physical and mental toll. .
  17. Tie the Suns pick 19 or 24 to that it’s basically the same outcome with Hogan at the Suns instead of Dockers. Hogan must really like the beach and warmer climates or losing or both to agree.
  18. Particularly now that you have to start someone in the square.
  19. People are missing the point. Ignore the final offer bit. They are now making an offer. Plenty of time for more "final offers" between now and Wednesday.
  20. Teams play maximum two rucks with most playing one. Teams play how many midfielders and even more so how many inside midfielders? If we lose one inside mid in 2019 how much will you panic? If Gawn went down next year how much will you panic? Preuss is worth as much as Tyson. You could potentially argue more.
  21. When Viney was injured we still didn't play Tyson inside.
  22. The only thing that Hunt and Gaff have in common is they play in the AFL.
  23. Which Vic teams have been light on contested ball winners this year? Essendon and Carlton are the only ones I can think of. Maybe the Saints. I cant see him leaving the state and he is handy quality depth for us but not best 22.
