Changes vs Sydney
According to Goodwin no Viney or Hibberd and Melksham 50/50 for next week. Swans are not tall forward so Smith in allows us to decide the best defender rather than needing a third tall specifically. I would be pulling the trigger on Hunt. If Melksham needs another week leave it as one change. Out Smith. In Hunt.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - GUY WALKER
should have read this before I wasted my time with the Burgan interview. Did not even say his height or what type of footy player he was.

Changes v Gold Coast Suns
I am one that believes to make changes you need someone coming in who will on talent or form be better than the one going out for that role. That or you are changing the mix of roles in the side for a refined strategy. I think strategically we are now set for the year. Casey do not play this week. None of our first 18 in Viney or Hibberd are ready to return. For me then it is clearly no change unless a key player such as Hogan or kid (Fritsch or Spargo) needs a serious rest to freshen them up.

GAMEDAY - Round 19
Are we 10 goals down and I am unaware? Any positives? It’s a tight tough game. We are having a crack. They look better structured forward and moving the ball out of stoppage are cleaner than us. Well in it if we get cleaner and take our chances as they tire. If we are going to be critical Jones and Hogan need earn their pay in the second half. Both been poor.

Changes vs Adelaide
Do people write these before the previous game? This weeks casualty regardless of performance Joel Smith. An 8 game player who in the hottest game of the year had 16 possessions at 81% and the second most 1%ers in our. I must have missed who he played on that carved him up? Was he on Hawkins? I suspect JKH will make way but doubt and wouldnt expect more than that.

Name three good things
1. Harmes (60 games), Petracca (55), Oliver (51) and Brayshaw (50) (combined 212 games) did more than hold their own against Danger, the Selwoods and Ablett (combined games 956). 2. We have now played under finals pressure and understand you must play full throttle for 120 minutes (better now than if we ever get to play one). 3. T-Mac continues to develop as an elite key forward.

Should O.Mac and JKH Play A Game For The Dees Again?
18 rounds of football and the list of key forwards who have kicked 4 goals in a game against us is Hawkins 7 last night and Cox 5 on QB. For your narrative at a stretch you could call the bags of 4 by Membrey (round 15) and Menzel (round 1) key forwards rather than mid size not that Oscar played on them at all. Oscar lowered his colours last night to a quality mature power forward but I was more concerned by the midfielders who let them waltz the ball through and deliver it to him on the lead. He has rarely been beaten this year and this is without the expected support of Lever for most of it and Hibberd yesterday.

Changes vs Adelaide
Can someone list Hawkins aside the bags of goals kicked on OMac this year by key forwards? Assuming no Hibberd to return. JKH for Kent and Tyson for Hannan (would love to see AVB but I suspect another game needed at least). Tyson played pretty well but he played basically as another inside mid on the narrow GMHBA and we will need more run in Adelaide.

GAMEDAY - Round 18
It had nothing of course to do with our mids ceasing to win clearances. Hawkins was getting silver service in the last. I didn’t mind the Petracca bang it forward play. However our ruck leaving the ground with the blood rule proves we are cursed. I am completely gutted but not due to the teams lack of go.

Neville Jetta Re-Signs until 2021
Well deserved. No player more consistently impacts games in his role than Nev.

Pace Or Grunt
Hannan for pace. I don't believe we should mess with our midfield set up from the second half either. I would suggest Bernie will be once again be under question. Was very slow again on the weekend and Joel Smith could be a good physical match up for Menzel.
