  1. I discount them. They will make the 8, but not seriously challenge. Other teams are better.

  2. That's a very interesting perspective Oracle. My highlight prediction for 2012 is that during the year Andy Demetriou will suddenly resign as AFL CEO to take up a similar role with the Indian Cricket Board. One of his first responsibilities will be to investigate the problems on the sub continent of corruption and gambling on cricket matches and after an exhaustive two day inquiry into the subject he will absolve all parties suspected of wrongdoing and give the all clear declaring that the sport is well run and that there's no gambling problem in Indian cricket.

  3. Not sure we really need to turn too technology to adjudicate on those rare occasions when a goal is in doubt. I would prefer a simpler solution whereby we follow soccers lead and pay a goal regardless of whether it touches the post or not. If it goes through the goals untouched by a player it's a goal. This would clean up a large part of the conjecture. Likewise I have always advocated play on if the ball bounces off the post and goes back into the field of play. I would also have grave doubts placing the responsibility of such technology in the grubby hands of the AFL hierarchy. They have of late demonstrated a very flexible attitude to their own code of conduct when their own business expansion plans are threatened. Every decision on and off the field these days seems to be based on a business plan. The sad thing is that the simple notion of right and wrong doesn't appear to be in the plan. Unfortunately I have a gut feeling that the AFL look lovingly at the way FIFA and the Indian Cricket Board conduct their affairs and find inspiration in their approach.

  4. Can any of them get you a Dees premiership for next year?

  5. The Indian control board is run by sleazebags. The AFL is run by sleazebags. Do you think these organizations would allow noble concepts such as seeking the truth and promotion of fairness and justice to infiltrate into their agendas?

  6. Swings and roundabouts. We benefitted from the AFL's suspect backing in the tanking scrutiny. We've also been on the lucky side in relation to the Viney father-son hiring and the Liam Jurrah drafting. I've no interest in witch-hunts concerning other teams.

  7. Wait, what? HWFUA is to blame for our other issues? Well, here we go. Sweep all your problems to the door of the Dishonest Simpletons and we all sleep well at night... A whole confuence of events occurred that led us to losing a talented young player. But let's not kid ourselves that we didn't play a role in that. And I am not alluding to the nonsense that we played a part in some grand charade, I am talking about the fact that we had enormous issues within the club that led us to ask Garry Lyon for some direction and assistance. Those issues, plus the AFL's desire for expansion, plus $2m, plus a lack of moral backbone of one Punxsutawney Phil, and the naivete and lack of character of a young fool led us to the situation we found ourselves in. The conspiracy is great copy - it's a good read. But let's not let ourselves off the hook by blaming The Grand Conspiracy on all our troubles...

  8. If you have a choice between conspiracy and [censored]-up, go with [censored]-up every time. I'm not saying conspiracies don't occur. Of course they do. But if you spend all your time looking for conspiracies, you'll end up wasting a lot of time and energy. So, by all means those who want to can continue to imagine a conspiracy. I'll just accept it was a [censored]-up.

  9. If you really want a conspiracy theory then there is evidence that HWFUA was secretly planned from birth to be a GWS player. It seems his parents even timed his birth to ensure he would end up being a Giants player. It is no coincidence that his birthdate of 15.5.1991 (15+5+1991= 2011=4) sums to the exact numeric value as do the initials GWS ( 7+23+19=49=13=4). This family has been planning this for a very long time. Shoddy, Grubby and Dimwit were just pawns in a bigger conspiracy.
