Melbourne v Brisbane

Average first quarter. Back-line held firm. Mid-field fell apart in the center. No one to kick to up forward. Story of the year. I'm starting to think our backline is A LOT better then what people give it credit for. They have been under pressure constantly all year.

We'll never win a game playing like this.

Pathetic - there is no game plan other than to push back, chip it around and rely on our lack of skills. There's nobody running and nobody taking risks. Only 2 down at quarter time. We'll lose by 100 points easily.

This is an indictment on the coaches.

The gameplan is up the [censored]... Alright drop numbers back, but were not skillfull or fit enough too get back to our forward line... N. Jones is excluded

correct weight on the backline... they held up really well against carlton last week too... skills lack a little, but they get let down by the midfielders not running hard enough down the ground...

goodnight... poor free kick!@!!! Daniel Bell is the biggest CAT i`ve seen.

Turned it off. I have better things to do then watch a hack of a team coached by a hack of a coach. Bailey is gone in a few weeks. Mark my words. They're playing as bad, if not worse, than Fitzroy in 96. Our list is better than Essendon's and better than Carlton's, yet we can't implement a simple gameplan. I hate the "new coach, new gameplan" excuse. How many times do we see a new coach start off with an 0-5 record, which will blow out to god knows what?

He's gone.

I'm thinking we might be in trouble now! :P

Got a feeling that Brisbane might just run away with this game.....

Although we seem to be winning every contest and obviously have the stronger midfield....

Also, our forward structure is one of the best in the league.....

WTF?!?!?!

I think I was having flashbacks.....

We are shite!!!!

The players have absolutely no idea what to do. It's pathetic.

its just pathetic, if this is the best this coach and his assistants can come up with well l'm speechless, there is nothing that can be said about the way they are playing other than, someone has to go. The fumbling by nearly all of the players is laughable, where have the skills of these blokes gone, NO CONFIDENCE in themselves, obviously no confidence in the coach.

I agree... the players simply dont respect him or give him the time of the day... Might be a good coach in the future, but when your working with monkeys what hope have u got... Not sure the Melbourne Football Club would get rid of Bailey.. 3 year contact to serve and not sure they have the $$$ to pay him out

I might watch Sydney and Kangas....

This is just too depressing....

I'm putting myself on a media ban.....

Read nothing..... Listen to nothing.... Watch nothing.....

Turned off the TV and decided to listen to the guys on ABC radio. They are absolutely scathing about what's happening. They don't have a positive for Melbourne and the only Demon name I'm hearing is Travis Johnstone.

l reckon the coach should be given the flick, l don't care that he has only had the job for 6 weeks, its proven he's not up to it, it makes me very frickin' angry watching this rubbish

I haven't seen Brock McLean have a touch. Totally out of the game.

Mum just told me of the radio banter. They say they haven't seen a team play this bad so consistently in a long, long time. Whether that means 12 years going back to Fitzroy or not, I don't know, but they've utterly lost the plot. This team has the ability to literally cripple the Melbourne FC.

your right and something needs to be done NOW, someone has to go before it becomes terminal, we cannot go on like this because it will decimate the club, the attitude is the worst l have ever seen. l'm in my 40's and watched my beloved demons play in the 70's which l thought was our worst era until now.

4 turn overs with in 2 min in our backline

i cant not beleive how bad we r

bears should b 100 points up already

i cant c us winnin a game all year

Wonaeamirri is a positive, at least. I don't think I've seen Aaron Davey kick goals like that for about two years.

i think it might be time 2 drop davey doesnt have his spark anymore

dunn has done nuthing at all

mclean has done nuthin 2 day, y cant he back us his game from last week

but a possitive is that we r being effiecient in out forward line, we jst cnt get the ball past the chb line/centre line

WAT CAN WE DO

THIS IS KILLIN ME

An absolute joke of a half. We are going backwards - and I thought that was impossible!

For the first time, I am having some second thoughts about coach Bailey - embarassing to watch.

They say they haven't seen a team play this bad so consistently in a long, long time.

I know that I certainly haven't. Even Carlton at their worst over the past few years looked capable of kicking a score, even when they were leaking goals at the other end. I can't even remember one competent passage of play from this game so far.

I'm just glad Brisbane aren't playing at their best either, otherwise we'd be about 15 goals down by now.

We have supposedly 2 floating around in defence, both not getting a kick, rivs was one who up to half way through the 2nd had 1 possession,

we make the worst decisions and constantly, we kicked it in 3 times in a minute cos we kept kicking it to them, we did not even get it outside 50!

We flood back and still cant close the game up, you would think we were flooding our forward line by the size of the holes we are leaving, and when we do get the ball we have no half forward line or forward line at all so we just turn it over.

Sorry Dean but your game plan is retarded, the players are retarded and cannot play your style, [censored] it off and play one on one and tell them to kick the bloody thing instead of handballing the bloody thing to players standing still and usually in a worse position.

We will not win a game this year.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
