I don't mind that Nugget.

Neither do I. And I think it's more realistic as well. All these guernsey's with the old Demon logo on them are just not going to happen. Our logo is that blue with the red yoke and that tacky writing now, so any clash guernsey will be derived from that in some way.

why couldnt we have a red jumper with blue trim with the letters MFC in blue intertwined as they used to be back in the day on the front, a bit like the carlton jumper. it should avoid the 2 clash's we have with essendon and carlton. on the back above the numbers you could have an MelbourneFC 150 logo or something... at least it has a bit of heritage about it. or invert the colours as another poster has done above. im not keen on the club bending too much.

That was like the old training jumper wasn't it? i think that jumper was blue though. That would be good as well, wonder what the club will come up with, if they change at all.

yeah, like the old training jumper.

as for the need to change the jumper, doesnt it depend on who designed it? if Asics designed we may need a change.

Maybe I'm on my own here, but if we are serious about an alternative jumper, then we need to go with different colours. It's not the design that makes us clash with Essendon, it's the darkness of the blue and red colours and the black and red colours.

A proper alternative strip has to be radically different in colour from the home jumper. Freo's is good. Essendon's is rubbish.

I don't see the point in reversing the colours as I don't think this helps in a clash with Essendon. If we are already varying the sacred home jumper, then to me I don't mind if they go a step further and play in colours that aren't primarily red and blue.

well the club logo i suppose is the new bland thingy... but as a graphic on a jumper...what more do we need than a Demon ??...It aint broke...why fix it ?? lol

its just an idea.. It cant clash.. its still us.. It s immediately recognisable as Melbourne.. in the old language it ticks all the boxes.. so obviously is far too logical !!! lol :P

I suppose you could modify it further..

I like it! Perhaps a jumper with the bland logo and 150 on it?

IMO logos look crap.

One of the best thing about AFL jumpers is their simplicity. The Bulldogs have ruined their jumper by putting that logo on the front IMO.

That's why I'm all for having an alternative that still holds on to the simple design of the Melbourne jumper.

Agreed, logos do make them look like training guernseys. I don't envy the blokes at the club and Reebok(?) who have to design one.

Oh, and for the one I put on a few posts back, they aren't stripes...It is a large M for Melbourne. Creative, no?

agreed, the logos ruin a good football jumper in my opinion

also, i think clash jumpers need to be more vastly different from a teams main jumper. I think the white, with the red and blue V looks the best, without the stripes down the front

what about nothing but the 150, and melbournefc underneath it? remind everyone who's 150th season it actually is...

otherwise i would like to see us continue to use our traditional jumper in every game we are allowed, and auction off the jumper to whoever wants to pay the most the other weeks ala the light blue smarty at carlton. if we are forced to change our jumper for 2-3 games a year, sell it to pine-o-clean for 100K, and we'll wear green with a freakin tree on the front. it sure beats selling a home game interstate...

haha...that is a smart idea but it wont happen. in my opinion the best alternative strip this year was carltons and they just reversed the colours...that is where i got the idea for mine

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
