let's put ten bucks on now!!!! that makes me lough cos i know we wont be the worst next year. this is halarious!!! we will crap all over essendon, bullldogs, kangas, blues...wow

Well we did just trade trapper who is regarded as our best player, neitz is 1 year older etc etc

you can understand why.

How the HELL can Richmond be at better odds the Melbourne??

Also, The Doggies will be better next year. How can we be viewed as the worst club out? Sure Carlton has Judd, but he can only play in one position!

Plenty of teams I can understand being above us even though they deserve to be below us.

But Richmond!!!!!!!!!!!!

is there wooden spoon odds? i wonder if we're favourites for the spoon...

and where did you get those odds from? here are the odds from sportsbet.com.au and we're 3rd from the bottom, ahead of richmond and essendon...

Geelong 3.50

Collingwood 10.00

West Coast 10.00

Hawthorn 11.00

Fremantle 12.00

Adelaide 15.00

St Kilda 15.00

and where did you get those odds from?

seek and ye shall find... at the bottom of my post I wrote "Current odds courtesy ozbet.com.au"

you would think that westcoast not making the 8 would be a good value bet... losing judd and cousins....

Plenty of teams I can understand being above us even though they deserve to be below us.

But Richmond!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate to say it but Richmond finished the season with more than we did. Sure we had a hollow win against the Blues but the Tigers played some decent footy from memory as opposed to the slop we were serving up.

I am sure they ranked Geelong, PA, Collingwood and Kangas very lowly 12 months ago and look what happened in 2007.

Would you expect the reactive herd mentality to think otherwise?

I think a better bet would be on us making the final 8. Let's be honest; we're not gonna win the 2008 flag...

Carlton at $26 ?? we were at that at the start of 2007 and we'd just bowed out of a semi final!!!!

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
