My prediction is we won't have one player there. Maybe McDonald, but it's unlikely.

there will be nada, none, zilch, no-one from the Demons

does anyone seriously expect any ?? I for sure dont :(

The list is stupid and Sheahan is a complete [censored]

By the way, no Demons deserve to be in anyones top 50

Wow what time does the paper come out.

I might have to stay up all night so i can be the first to get a copy. :o

sat's hun often goes live to net around 2am ( can vary ) .. ya better get somegood coffee and cookies !! lol

But surely Judd will be no.1...

we did get him, right?

the fact we dont have a player who legitimately deserves to be in the top 50 players in the afl, is why were farkin shite this year, and its why we wont win a premiership until some of our players decide to pull their fingers out and become the elite footballers they should be...

im looking at you Johnstone, Bruce, Mclean and Sylvia...

if we are going to win a premiership, we need atleast 2 players to be in the top 20 in the afl...just look at every premiership side for the past 70 years if you want proof.

or 9 All Australian !! lol

I hate this Top 50. Naturally, I don't expect any Melbourne players to be in there, but some of the crap that manages to get a guernsey is unbelievable. I promise to come back here tomorrow with at least 5 players who would not even make my top 100 (you may argue that my football nous is less than Mike Sheahans... you could have a point). Every single time without fail there are half a dozen players that you just wonder...

Agree, Scotland an interesting choice. Campbell Brown too high. Shaun Burgoyne too low. Otherwise a reasonable effort.

Harris?

LOL What a joke...

Nick Reiwoldt should be higher.

Im a bit surprised Scott Thompson didnt make it.

thought s.black higher

swap bartel with brown

no s thomson geez

i agree totally, black is a gun, but i think he has a real love affair with hawks players! franklin ahead of pav is a joke! hodge is to high! the burgyones are way to low, and the chad could be a bit higher i would have swapped him with cox!

McIntosh that high? Higher even than Lade, everyone got way too caught up with McIntosh, had a good first half and that was it, wake up to yourself Mike Sheahan you pratt.

Ling higher than Pavlich........now I know it's a joke!!!!

If Joel Corey is the 7th best player in the comp then the AFL is in disarray

Sheahan gets worse every year, I actually feel sorry for him

I'll stick up for daniel harris the guy is a gun and would be getting the plaudits he deserves if in a more high profile side, his clearance work is 2nd to none right up there with mitchell and kerr....

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
